Welcome, oldestmonster.

Check out classics for some brilliant threads.

LouSend · 05/02/2014 19:43

Hmm, Hairy checked in at 15.54 to assure us she was ok and the mutant pear baby alien mouse was still in her bin, but how do we know?

She could tell us anything to stop mass hysteria, all the while knowing she's now one of them.

oldestmonster · 05/02/2014 19:39

Thanks, FunnyOnTheTelly, for the link. I did think that mn couldn't all be as good as this but these threads will be worth waiting for. Rationing will be required however as I've spent a lot of work time today on here.

Gracelo · 05/02/2014 19:38

I have eaten these things sunsshineonsea not in Mexico but in Munich during a genetics class at Uni. We found some on a field trip. It actually tasted ok, it's a bit like eating oysters, you have to try to forget how it looks.

Misspixietrix · 05/02/2014 19:32

Footie Grin.

Sunshineonsea · 05/02/2014 19:31

And where is hairy? it's dark now, have the veg company delivered the new box?

FootieOnTheTelly · 05/02/2014 19:28

HERE is a Linky to the Stalker thread if anyone's interested who hasn't already seen it. 'Tis well funny.

Sunshineonsea · 05/02/2014 19:28

I can't even write and grammarise properly I'm in such a state of shock

Sunshineonsea · 05/02/2014 19:27

And the crumble line has failed
I'm in the south east
Today ds and I went to morrisons and he upon browsing the fruit section he asked for a pear he has never ever asked for a pear in his life, not even tasted one
obviously the school has sneaked pear juice into the children!
All is lost I tell you

FootieOnTheTelly · 05/02/2014 19:25

Blimey, OldestMonster. You are in for a big disappointment if you think this thread is typical of Mumsnet. Grin This thread is mumsnet at its best, most of it is drivel. Wink

(Although the 'Am I a stalker' thread that is running at the moment is brilliant too)

Sunshineonsea · 05/02/2014 19:24

gracelo people eat these things!

oldestmonster · 05/02/2014 18:36

I joined mumsnet today (newbie tremble) and this thread is the first I've read. So glad I joined! Thank you for a day full of laughs.

Gracelo · 05/02/2014 18:31

It reminds me a bit of Ustilago maydis which is a pathogen of maize. It causes maize kernels to go black and swell up massively a bit like the core here has swollen up and gone black. The infected kernels are a delicacy in Mexico.
I'd prefer the alien invasion hypothesis though.

FootieOnTheTelly · 05/02/2014 18:28

I would stay away from the bin if I were you. Confused

What on earth is inside my pear?
Misspixietrix · 05/02/2014 18:21

You wouldn't be able to fit anything in afterwards. It would have already eaten you too Grin.

SlightlyDampWellies · 05/02/2014 18:18

Oh Lord. The bin. For two weeks.

See, this is how the Zombie Apolocalypse starts.

Can you call the environmental agency or something? or Dustin Hoffman and Rene Russo? please?

This. Is. Not. Funny. Anymore.

Flufflewuffle · 05/02/2014 18:10

Eeek, Pixietrix!! What a horrible, horrible thought! It could take over the entire bin.
And HOW would you fit everything else in there that needed to go?? Or would it simply eat everything you binned...?
Hmmmm...

Misspixietrix · 05/02/2014 17:42

zzzzz . OP if that's what it can grow in your Fruitbowl in a few days imagine what it could grow spending two weeks in your Bin. I'm just saying...

WowserBowser · 05/02/2014 17:40

They're probably mutant piggies Sad

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/02/2014 17:39

D'you think it was all a huge, elaborate hoax?

Shock

But HairyPeary has got guinea-pigs

Will no-one think of the BabyGuineaPigPearBabies

WowserBowser · 05/02/2014 17:34

She's orchestrated this all Shock

Playing us like a finely tuned violin.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/02/2014 17:08

Hey - the 15.40 post from yesterday had PearyPotter waking up from a nap (probably thinking she'd Dreamed all this mwah ha ha ) to find to her horror that PearMiceBabies were all over MN fb but "at least my worktops weren't manky"

So yes, she'd lick the pear before she photographed it. As if you'd present the "That'sAShamePearMouseBabies" in anything less than a good light.

WowserBowser · 05/02/2014 16:58

She licked it? On purpose? Oh my god!

It's obvious PearyPotter: even the delivery people don't come out in the daylight. So we can add vampires into the trope.

BTW, I clicked on the links. And I wish I could say it's put me off food. All it's done was put me off food and send me running to the Krispy Kremes. And I was doing so well this past week - waaaahhhh!
