I saw something like that once. I was working late, everyone else had gone home. There was a noise coming from the reception area. I went out but couldn't see anyone. I went back to my desk and just felt like someone was watching me. I don't know why. I couldn't shake it and I couldn't focus so I decided to go home. I logged out and painted my nails while I waited for my train to be due. I heard the noise again. Maybe someone had left their computer on with a game running or something? I went out past the reception again and pressed the lift button. As the lift door opened a little pear mouse fell out, it nearly landed on my foot. I would have picked it up and put it in the bin but my nails were wet. Funnily enough the next day I got a call to say that - (oh wait the baby is awake. I'll finish later.)

Op -I think you have discovered a new breed of pear - a la the truffle pear - you could sell them for humungous amounts of dosh and we'd all be your new best friends! Wink

TalkieToaster · 04/02/2014 13:48

I've been reading in horror. I need to get up and have a wee, but I'm scared the pear might get me.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 04/02/2014 13:42

ask them if they have any idea what it could be?

InCiderMind · 04/02/2014 13:41

I'm really intrigued by this. I agree with a pp that said it doesn't look like part of the pear.

SecretWitch · 04/02/2014 13:40

OMFG! I hate holes! I hate Pears!

nippysweetie82 · 04/02/2014 13:40

Beawheesht, this might put you off chocolate! Years ago I was eating a Dairy Milk bar and noticed lots of tiny white threads in the chocolate. We sent it to Cadbury's for analysis and they said it was harmless warehouse moth cocoons and quite common! They gave us a £5 voucher as a goodwill gesture.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 04/02/2014 13:36

Who the fuck's idea was it at HQ to add images to threads for the love of all that's fucking holy

You've put me off my hot cross bun forever

Huitre · 04/02/2014 13:35

Oh my god, that is terrifying.

SecretWitch · 04/02/2014 13:33

O

HairyPotter · 04/02/2014 13:28

The fruit and veg company have just replied. I wrote, please do not send pears this week as I can't face them after finding this

They replied with 'oh that's a shame, they are fantastic this week'

Clearly proof that they are in cahoots. Grin

0v0, all pears will now be cutted up before consumption from here on in.

Lou, you are brave showing your dd the photo. Mine are 15 and 10 and I would never get them to eat fruit again if I showed them it.

LouSend · 04/02/2014 13:07

I showed the picture to my 20 month old. She said

"Aahhhhh. Deetdur."
Me: "Creature?"
Dd: "Yes."

So there you have it. It's officially a creature.

But the question is: is it the type of creature that is awakened from stasis by being poked or cut with a knife?

OvO · 04/02/2014 12:55

Fuck me.

Hairy, you are going to be responsible for a massive fall in pear sales. I will never be able to eat one again. Shock

OMG those little craters .......something has hatched and escaped into the fruit?

Or it might be where the seeds were

Blatherskite · 04/02/2014 12:41

MIL gave me a bag of plums that she'd de-stoned and sliced ready for the freezer after her neighbour gave her loads from his tree - but only after telling me that she'd found a load of little worms in one that she'd been eating!

I know that these ones had been sliced and apparently checked but they all went in the bin anyway

HairyPotter · 04/02/2014 12:40

The mutant pears are circling. I can feel it.

The greengrocer cult member does he do deliveries? My next box is coming tomorrow and I'm going to make sure I'm out. Can I leave your address Door? Or anyone of the other Scottish contingency? I can see you all hiding....

I have cut it open a bit more.

Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry suspicious door
Did he look guilty/shifty?
Has he been selling these Fruity Alien Baby Surrogates?
Does he have a white fluffy cat that he strokes "Well, Meester Bond" villan stylee?

doorbellringer · 04/02/2014 12:32

Yup he was a proper green grocer! Mind you he did ask "where did you get this picture?" in a rather shifty eyed dramatic fashion.
I'm sorry to say I folded like a deck of cards and squealed on you by saying "hairy potter told me" Grin

Interestingly, he said he had to go and hasn't come back yet.

We are in Scotland too.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 04/02/2014 12:20

It was nice knowing you, Hairy. Grin
