I am not sure if this is the right place for this but my mum (EMIN) had asked us to keep her mumsnet friends updated on her cancer battle.

I have already posted on the 'cancer' thread but wanted to make sure I had done what she wanted.

Mum - wife, mother of three, foster mother to over 80 children and grandmother of one - passed away peacefully in her sleep at 2:50 this morning. We were all with her, holding her hand and telling her we loved her.

Yesterday all of her family came to visit and they spent time with her, each of them getting their private time to talk to her and just be there with her and for her.

All she had ever wanted was to be at home with her family around her and she got exactly what she wanted. She will be missed so very much and we are devastated that she was taken so early.

She loved to read threads on fostering as babies were her life. She lurked a fair bit and would just offer words of guidance, comfort or encouragement where she felt she could help. In later months as she fought cancer she concentrated more on the cancer thread and I know it gave her some comfort.

She would have been 60 in October and we are devastated she never got to have her big family party but we get some comfort from the fact that all of her loved ones were with her yesterday.

I don't know how many people she communicated with outside of the boards or if any crossedover to real life but if anyone is interested in coming to the funeral once it is arranged then by all means drop me a private message and I can pass on the details.

what an amazing, amazing woman your mum was to have looked after so many vulnerable children. Her love shone out from her posts, she was truly incredible. Ill be thinking of you and your family xx

NomDeClavier · 04/09/2013 14:02

I'm so sorry :( I read a few of your mother's posts about the drug dependant baby and she was always warm, patient and kind in what must have been such a tough situation. She made a real difference, not just to that baby but also to me when I had a challenging but perfectly healthy baby. I felt that if she could do it under such extreme circumstances and remain so together then I could cope too.

LegoAcupuncture · 04/09/2013 14:01

So very sorry for your loss. She was an amazing woman.

I read a few of EMIN's threads, the one that sticks is the one where she was fostering a baby born to an addict. She was an amazing woman.

I'm so sad to hear this :( I'm sorry for your loss daughter

She was inspirational. I remember her thread about her lovely baby foster daughter and she was amazing, so dedicated and such a brilliant mum. She had words of wisdom for us over on adoptions as well, having the experience of moving her loved foster kids on, and they were so appreciated

RIP Flowers

This is such sad news, she sounded like she had a beautiful soul, and a caring heart. She has left a wonderful legacy here in her family and her fostering work.

RIP.

So sorry for your loss, so very glad she was at home, surrounded by love when she passed.

Your mum came across as such an amazing and inspiring person in her threads.
The world is a better place because of her.

Is there a charity she loved that I/we can make a donation to in her memory?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 04/09/2013 11:25

So sorry on your very sad news, I read her threads and one reduced me to tears, such a remarkable woman and someone I feel we could all learn something from. I always felt her name was wrong, EarthMotherI`mNot, no, Earth Mother She Was.

Much love to you and your family.

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/09/2013 11:10

Oh my goodness - I am so very sorry for your loss, DOE.

Like so many others, I had read your mother's thread about the addicted baby and was left humbled.

RIP EMIN, you really did make the world a better place and your legacy is love.

duchesse · 04/09/2013 10:54

My condolences to you and your family DaughterofEMIN. I first came across your mum when she posted in the wee small hours, hugging a tiny crack-addicted newborn and asking for advice. It was obvious from that one thread that she was an amazing person with a huge heart. Life is so unfair to take people like your mum first, but she must have packed more into her life than most. RIP EMIN.

SinisterSal · 04/09/2013 10:54

I'm very sorry for your loss of your lovely Mum x Thanks

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/09/2013 10:52

Very Sad

DaughterofEMIN I hope you do take some comfort from the strength of feeling and admiration of everyone here.

I read the "Baby Withdrawing" thread and the bit that was sad I found was the post about changing her bedding when she'd gone to her new home.
And Smile at the little shoes and her DH trudging off to the Post Office again.

Her devotion will have shapes so many lives for the better.
