The Yodel man has my remote control and I have his dooda

Delivery signed for at 12pm.

I ran to the door with the remote control in my hand as experience tells me if you don't get there fast they leave.

So, opened door, he handed me box. Put box on floor. He handed me the signing thing so handed him the remote control so I could hold and sign signing thing

We said thank you. Shut door. Walked into living room and realised I wa holding signy thing and he has my remote control

I thought he'd realise and come back but it's nearly 9 o'clock when they finish for the day and he hasn't come back?

How do I get my remote control back? I emailed yodel to explain an got a automated reply saying my parcel has been delivered and signed for?

Yes I know that but you've got my remote control, wankers, and I can't change the channel without hassle Grin

One for classics MNHQ!

The driver must have noticed - how could he not?!

Could you just ring Virgin and ask for a new remote? That has to be a lot easier than trying to communicate with Yodel!

GigiDarcy · 02/09/2013 22:39

Nothing rational to add but this has made my night Grin DH and I are both crying with laughter, especially at the idea of people pretend signing with a remote control. I have actual tears here!

DollySisterDoesntLikeHerDiet · 02/09/2013 22:39

Grin Am actually laughing out loud at this thread.

larlemucker · 02/09/2013 22:35

DS was asleep on my chest until my laughing woke him up!!!

Hilarious OP!!!

K8Middleton · 02/09/2013 22:33

I used to work with someone who would insist on giving the delivery man's doodah a going over with an alcohol wipe before she would hold it. So think on.

SummerRain · 02/09/2013 22:27

Dp and I are both crying laughing at this Grin

Greenoes · 02/09/2013 22:22

Actually crying!!! Grin

K8Middleton · 02/09/2013 22:17

So just to summarise: yodel man slipped the op his doodah which caused the op to lose control and all she's left with is a useless box with a doodah that does nothing for her.

Tis tragic.

JosiePosiePuddingAndPie · 02/09/2013 22:17

Are you sure they didn't send you a new remote in the box?

Grin I love this thread.

2Old2BeABluePeterPresenter · 02/09/2013 22:10

Sorry but this is the most hilarious thread ever. We have three Virgin Box doodahs and I'm pretty sure they work on different boxes. Do you have more than one box?

LollipopViolet · 02/09/2013 22:07

Oh this is great. I'm Grin-ing at "sign-y doodah"

How can he not have noticed he no longer has his sign-y doodah???

DrDance · 02/09/2013 22:07

littlemisswise I know?

Just going to join in the innuendo for a moment

My remote control is long and slim his dooda was short and stubby with dangley bits

My husband is looking at me pityingly as I cry with laughter. You have made my night!

littlemisswise · 02/09/2013 22:02

Grin how can he have gone all day and not noticed he has your remote? He obviously doesn't get his dooda out often enough!

K8Middleton · 02/09/2013 22:01

Unlucky. Bet you wish it was a big ceramic cockerel after all Grin

CatAmongThePigeons · 02/09/2013 22:00

Fantastic! Grin

Could the doodah work your box?

EnlightenedOwl · 02/09/2013 21:58

i can't stop laughing especially the bit about now having the box but the control going out the door as the box came in so its no use anyway.

GraceAndVirtue · 02/09/2013 21:57

Brilliant! Grin

DrDance · 02/09/2013 21:56

Maybe the remote control felt I was blaming it and left home Grin

Blush the box contains a new virgin media plus box (and a new hub)

The new virgin media box was ordered on Friday as it stopped responding properly to the remote control. Wouldn't play back recorded problems, pause live tv etc.

I always thought they sent an engineer (they always have done before) but this time they said 'if it's an equipment fault we just send the equipment'

So I now have a box that will potentially work but no remote control to try it with!!!

Snurk. Thanks OP, I needed a giggle!

JosiePosiePuddingAndPie · 02/09/2013 21:54

Was it a new remote? OR new batteries for the remote that you finally remembered to buy after a year of opening the back up and rolling the ones that came with the TV?
