Do planes have windscreen wipers? And is there any need too have a pilot, or could the plane just be flown by machines? I started discussing this with my friend while we were flying home recently, and an elderly woman sitting behind us asked us to stop as she was feeling a little agitated Grin

on the subject of books- does anyone else annotate their books as they read them? you know with constructive criticism as if you're going to return it to the author to do again before you publish it? Blush

Pollydon · 02/06/2013 20:13

Its ok Alvis , in my head I sound like a godess, In rl I sound like my mum with a cold Hmm

suckmabigtoe · 02/06/2013 20:12

theherring i'm always writing books in my head but haven't the resources or time to actually make anything of any of them.

suckmabigtoe · 02/06/2013 20:11

"Why was it men who have general,y been religious and social leaders, instead of women, wit some exceptions of course? Is it do with strength, early means of finding food, something else?"

i think it must have been down to strength. i have heard on MN that women/children/elderly were responsible for finding 80% of the food in hunter gatherer people so i dont think it's to do with that. bloody men throwing their weight about again i'm sure Hmm Grin

Alisvolatpropiis · 02/06/2013 20:09

I'm so disappointed to read that Polly I've been deluding myself I'm a gravelly voiced seductress a la Lauren Bacall for years. Turns out I sound like a child!

TheHerringScreams · 02/06/2013 20:09

Souredstones · 02/06/2013 20:06

Not due on for a week so I will wait it out. Based on previous months I've not caught, so no reason to expect it this month. Just a pita pmt symptom to develop! Happens t each time in my cycle

TheHerringScreams · 02/06/2013 20:06

When I talk, do I hear what I say accurately? Or do I not hear it exactly right- recordings, so on and so on, all sound different?

How did it get this way? Why was it men who have general,y been religious and social leaders, instead of women, wit some exceptions of course? Is it do with strength, early means of finding food, something else?

suckmabigtoe · 02/06/2013 20:04

soured POAS!

Pollydon · 02/06/2013 20:04

Kim part of my job is to listen to voice recordings. Yes you really do sound like that & Ive yet to meet anyone who enjoys listening to their own voice played back to them!

suckmabigtoe · 02/06/2013 20:04

i dont recognise my own voice when i hear it on a recording.

Souredstones · 02/06/2013 20:03

Why has my body decided to add sickness and nausea to my list of pmt symptoms in the past 3 months out of the blue? (Defo not pregnant previous months although cant be sure this month)

suckmabigtoe · 02/06/2013 20:02

"I've got a twin sister and I can still fool her dh and dc when ringing while she's at work. We sound identical. Weird. Anyone else?"

my dcs try and do this to me! they aren't twins though but sometimes they do fool me Grin

Jestrin · 02/06/2013 20:02

kim147 I'm not an expert but I 'hear' myself with a voice that is slightly deeper than the one others say I have. On recordings, my voice is high pitched (but not squeaky Grin ) I'm always surprised when I hear it!

Alisvolatpropiis · 02/06/2013 20:01

kim

I wonder that! Particularly after having to set up a proper voicemail on my work phone. I listened to it to check it was all spoken at normal speaking pace (I talk very quickly) and was Blush Confused when a 10 year old girl repeated the words I'd just spoken back to me.

I'm 24 surely I don't sound like that?!

KinNora · 02/06/2013 20:01

Actually that should read 'as some people get older'

Gunznroses as people get older, especially post-menopausal women, they lose bone density, sometimes this causes some of the vertebrae to collapse or suffer wedge fractures, these can lead to the natural curve of the spine becoming more exaggerated.
