Calling all overseas MNers - My lovely boy has written some letters

He's 7, and is quite taken by stamps.
He's written several letters (I'll give you an example in a minute), and I wondered if there might be some MNers in foreign parts who might help him :)

Here is one of his letters ( in very best joined-up writing:))

Dear Jamaica

If I writ you a letter, please will you send me one back, so I can see your stamps.
I am from England (Great Britan)
Good luck in the Olympics
Love from Allyouneed Junior.

There are similar letters for several countries, and his plan is to put them in an envelope with the country name on the outside, and several stamps.

Would anyone be able to send him a letter with a stamp on?
Thank you. He would be the happiest boy in the world!

Foureyes - that's incredibly generous of you!
I don't want to take something that you might regret one day.
I'll pm you, but I won't be offended if you decide it's too much :)

Awwww. Super, super cute!

laraeo · 12/06/2012 21:16

I'm in the US and would be happy to send him fun stamps. I just logged on to the US postal service website and they've just issued some Pixar stamps which might be fun.

PM me if you'd like.

I'm in scotland so can't help but that is so gorgeous!! Smile

FourEyesGood · 12/06/2012 21:12

Please will you let me send you my old stamp collection? My mum brought it over when she had a clear-out a few years ago and I have no idea what to do with it! I doubt there's anything valuable in it but I used to spend hours on it when I was 8 or so. I've never used the PM thing before but will look out for one from you - let me know your address.
x

I'm in the UK but that is the most adorable thing. And all of those saying they'll help out. Thank you for restoring my faith in MN-ers and the world in general Grin

Waedigirl · 12/06/2012 21:11

I'm in Switzerland. If you pm me his name and your address I'm sure I can find an obliging Milka cow who can write a postcard :)

roguepixie · 12/06/2012 21:09

I am in the UK too but may have some overseas stamps - I used to collect them (when I was mini-rogue) and may well have some. Late FIL used to collect UK stamps but will check his collection too. Will PM you if I strike lucky.

Btw, don't think I have seen something that cute for ages. He sounds lovely. Grin.

DestinationUnknown · 12/06/2012 21:08

I'm in uk too but how abut posting on the Living Overseas board here? Am sure the lovely MNers who hang out there would help and they live all over!

Your boy sounds fab.

AllYouNeedIsAClickyBallpoint · 12/06/2012 21:07

MrsHels - I think he'll be amazed and stunned to get anything at all :)

Squirted, maybe it would be best if I came with you to the Bahamas :o

Cosmosis - I'm in Yorkshire too. Only bog standard stamps!

Do you just want something with a stamp on like a postcard or would you prefer a letter? Just trying to work out what's easier for my mum!

Sharpkat · 12/06/2012 20:58

I have a letter from Armenia today that I could steam the stamps off and create something for you.

Armenia is pretty cool Grin

Cosmosis · 12/06/2012 20:44

Dh has suggested sending some to the British embassy in some countries too? I wish we could help but live in Yorkshire and while independence would be great we don't have our own stamps yet Grin

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 12/06/2012 20:40

I'm going to the Bahamas soon. PM me and I'll send a postcard.

ElephantsCanRemember · 12/06/2012 20:39

I can ask my sister to send one from Australia?

ForFoxsGlacierMints · 12/06/2012 20:37

I could ask my sister to send one from America?

ruelachesty · 12/06/2012 20:32

Also my sis is going to Dominican Republic in a few weeks if that helps too. Scottish stamps just the same as royal mail I'm afraid! Pm if needed

robino · 12/06/2012 20:32

I can do Qatar for you if you'd like. Once I've managed to get to a post office.
