BareBums · 29/03/2012 13:12

Sounds dire state still good excuse to let DCs run wild Wink

StateofConfusion · 29/03/2012 12:57

oh and the fact that ds has long hair not a buzz cut and he chose to wear an acdc tshirt on non uniform day not a tracksuit/foot ball kit

OP posts:
StateofConfusion · 29/03/2012 12:56

that would be fun rabid

jax everyone here knows each other, went to the schools and now there dc do, and the actually parent bit isnt far from the truth, things like not letting them trample the new fower beds at school gets me Hmm looks.

OP posts:
JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 29/03/2012 10:41

state why are you the different Mum? Do you actually parent? Grin

Yes to the new polish speaking MNer. rabid I think you should start the thread and link to this one, otherwise there will be 10 threads asking for the same thing.,

RabidEchidna · 29/03/2012 10:31

Right first point of call we need a polish speaking mumsnetter, so how do we find one?
Start a thread: Polish speaking mumsnetter wanted and link it to here?

Second point of call, they seem to be getting lazy, once we have a polish speaker on board we can leave them notes with tasks on for them to "win" chocolate and so on big brother style Grin

LadyBabsWalthamCuddles · 29/03/2012 10:08

I don't know Polish, would give it a good try at least, just to keep us entertained that bit longer

BertieBotts · 29/03/2012 08:29

You can upload photos larger on the MN site - just put a larger number in when it says "resize?".

VivaLeBeaver · 29/03/2012 08:10

Its Google Translate. Freen on Android, dunno if you have to pay for the iphone version.

BareBums · 29/03/2012 06:38

Viva that sounds great - any chance it's available on the crap iPhone too? Is it costly?

StateofConfusion · 28/03/2012 22:18

that sounds awesome viva

VivaLeBeaver · 28/03/2012 22:13

I've got a fab translate android app on my smart phone. I use it at work all the time and women seem to understand it fine. I speak in English, phone speaks in Polish. They speak in Polish, phone speaks in English. Saves a fortune on Language Line.

SoC - you need to get the app and then have a conversation via the phone with them.

StateofConfusion · 28/03/2012 22:10

Ds has 2 bilingual TA's in his classroom... oh god no i can't ask them im already the different mum.

Hmmm, i have friends who owe me favours.

day 16 seems pretty dull only action was for the ice cream van

OP posts:
JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 28/03/2012 22:06

I am sure there are polish speakers on MN. Didnt we have a thread where someone translated things for a poster last year?

state you need to learn polish OR befriend someone who does. Grin

garlicbutter · 28/03/2012 21:21

Poltran obviously knew how to render the accents ...

garlicbutter · 28/03/2012 21:20

Darn! Get those kids on a Polish crash course!

Poltran says:
Dlaczego są wy mieszkający w waszym samochód?
why are you living in your car?
To jest chłód przy wieczorze późnym
it's cold at night.
Byłby wy lubicie niektóre gorący czekoladka?
Would you like some hot chocolate?

You could try printing it out ... If it's as good as Google translate, though, it probably means "Who died in car, night has influenza, boil in chocolate."

Perilous things, online translators.

BareBums · 28/03/2012 21:19

state you know what that means don't you? You'll have to learn Polish Wink

Or at least "why are you in the car?" and record or write down their answer and let
Google translate do the rest Grin

StateofConfusion · 28/03/2012 21:06

it was pretty damn cold when they started out there, frosty mornings so i doubt snow will deter them.

A couple of local kids were asking them why theyre in there all the time earlier, language barier stopped them and us getting answers.

OP posts:
ovaltine · 28/03/2012 20:33

even at festivals, you don't shit in the bushes round the corner (or at least I didnt)

bagelmonkey · 28/03/2012 20:25

Maybe they could go to a car wash & get themselves a shower at the same time.
I hope they're 'freshening up' with wet wipes, festival-style.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 28/03/2012 20:18

That car must be ripe! sheesh.

yes, of course, snow during the Easter break is par for the course around this way. Its hilarious - 23 degrees one minute, minus whatever the next.
