do you ever find left over notes in shopping torlleys or elsewhere? i

i am vaguely intrigued by these as identified in teh times
"Discarded notes are rubbish to most people, but not for worldwide subscribers to Found, which reprints them. The magazine?s publisher, Davy Rothbart, gets bundles sent to his office in Michigan. Laura Kwerel, a radio producer in Washington, was ?overwhelmed? after reading one issue. ?I realise now,? she says, ?that there is more humanity in a discarded grocery list than in a thousand-page novel.? Some people need to get out more. "

Changed my mind, not gonna give you the satisfaction.

For dinner tonight we are delighted to offer you tinned hotdogs, followed by meatballs, gravy and loganberry sauce with a Dime (Daim) bar for dessert. Enjoy your meal.

SoupDragon · 03/03/2006 15:12

I am a little peturbed that "dinner for us " is coming from Ikea.

harpsichordcarrier · 03/03/2006 14:32

gravidlax is kind of smoked fish, like smoked salmon but something round the outside? can't think what. peppers maybe?
the scandinavians like it.

MerlinsBeard · 03/03/2006 14:11

wtf is gravilax??

This list absolutly CANNOT die! I stopped shopping online and drag the DS's round in a trolley now in teh vain hope of finding a list!

cod · 03/03/2006 14:07

.. ponders..

SoupDragon · 03/03/2006 13:38

I have a list... from Ikea! Found in a basket of fluffy toy cats so technically not in a shopping trolley though.

A5 white envelope (complete with name and address)

tea light holders
toilet roll (roll crossed out) holder brush
gravilax
dinner for us
perfumed candles
te (crossed out) dog basket
look at bookcase.

BearintheBigBlueHouse · 03/03/2006 13:31

would you accept it if I did

cod · 03/03/2006 13:29

do you resign?

cod · 03/03/2006 13:29

do you resign?

BearintheBigBlueHouse · 03/03/2006 13:21

OK, the gauntlet is down. THIS list will kill it:

Tomatoes
Onions
Mushroom [just the one]
Mini Popadoms
Bombay Mix
Butter
Eggs
Stuff for veggie curry
Kitchen Roll
Rice
Loo Rolls
Fairy Liquid
Bleach x 4 [I'm reminded of a recent episode of CSI...]
Oil
Canderell
Brown Sauce
Soy Sauce
Roast Chicken (or Stuffed Duck etc)
Potatoes
Yorkshires
Chips
Lamp Oil

I'd say a fry up for Saturday lunch, a candlelit curry for dinner, then a roast Sunday lunchtime. But the bleach worries me.

Anyway - that did nothing for me. I'm list-impotent. Sorry, it's just not floating my boat no more...Sad

I just had to add one last list that I found yesterday; I’m not sure, but I think it may have belonged to a Mumsnetter Shock

Nice ham
Grapes – don’t let ds eat them before you pay for them
Tablecloth

Mooncup – extra large
Cod
34 metres elastic
Lemon drizzle ingredients
Immac – check suitable for use on hands
Sausage roll – on no account allow dd to eat in her buggy on way home

champs · 02/03/2006 02:26

i will not let this thread die!! infact I'm gonna make it go to 800.... so neeerrrrrr!!!

nightowl · 01/03/2006 23:05

i hope this thread isnt on its way out. i was so excited on Monday when i went shopping (but then im always late to catch on). theres usually tons of lists in the trollies...this week? bugger all. but....but, you people have turned me into a criminal. This man walked past me and OMG it was HUGE, just hanging limply out of his hand, he wasnt even holding onto it properly. in a moment of madness i could see my hand moving towards it but i suddenly remembered that you cannot pilfer a list out of some random bloke's hand. it looked so interesting too. on a brighter note, when i went outside i saw a middle aged man, on his own, riding his trolley full of shopping across the car park. he went past me twice. now theres someone with a bit of wild child still left in them eh? AggiePanther · 01/03/2006 21:52

spacedacet · 01/03/2006 20:41

lol Bear. Yeah, but what the heck? :)

BettySpaghetti · 01/03/2006 20:40

Didn't stop an ex-flatmate of mine !Angry

She was a complete nutter. She used to open, read and hide my mail. Thanks to her I nearly got summoned to court over non-payment of council tax.

BearintheBigBlueHouse · 01/03/2006 20:25

isn't that a crime?

AggiePanther · 01/03/2006 20:02

sob and I never even found a list.
Oh well ...I'm sure there are newer and more exciting hobbies to be had ...how about reading other people's post?

BearintheBigBlueHouse · 01/03/2006 16:24

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance. A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing. A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away. A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak. A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

A time to quit pilfering others' shopping lists; a time to stop posting on this thread; a time to get on with RL.

No, you haven't killed it Aggie, I have. Gone and never even reached 800 posts. I just can't be arsed any more. I saw one today and left it in it's torlley clip (it was pants anyway).

I need a new hobby, preferably something that brings in cash to pay the horrendous gas and leccy bills that have just arrived. Does crisp bag folding pay? A big blokey bear like me couldn't be seen beading, quilting or card-making, no matter how much they paid. But I think I could handle crisp-bag folding, I take it it's all WOH? Could someone please give me an idea of profit per unit, TIA.

AggiePanther · 01/03/2006 16:03

Oh my word! I knew I was good at killing threads but not this one surely? I thought it was immortal Shock

AggiePanther · 28/02/2006 16:22

I didn't know you could get tinned cherry tomatoes ...can you?

plo ... perhaps its p10 rather than plo as in page 10 of the recipe book

BearintheBigBlueHouse · 28/02/2006 13:39
