i am vaguely intrigued by these as identified in teh times
"Discarded notes are rubbish to most people, but not for worldwide subscribers to Found, which reprints them. The magazine?s publisher, Davy Rothbart, gets bundles sent to his office in Michigan. Laura Kwerel, a radio producer in Washington, was ?overwhelmed? after reading one issue. ?I realise now,? she says, ?that there is more humanity in a discarded grocery list than in a thousand-page novel.? Some people need to get out more. "

I like the detail on the 'nice ham' list - then followed by "meat for freezer", high standards don't apply there then obviously, any old horse meat will do.

BearintheBigBlueHouse · 30/01/2006 19:47

Your Waitrose used to be my favourite until I discovered the Portishead one - just off the M5 worth a detour (don't WHATEVER you do venture into P'head itself - even duller than the music). I'll bet there's many a fine list left on the little torlley clips there...

katierocket · 30/01/2006 19:46

well done cod for starting such a corker.

what happens when you have your shopping delivered though?

this thread is forcing me to rethink.

Snurk

wondered why this thread was so long .. sounded really dull .. classic

are we going to start leaving notes on purpose with a mumsnet heading?

BearintheBigBlueHouse · 30/01/2006 19:40

Good mince as opposed to what, genocidal mince?

Clever milk - we have that, the kids aren't any smarter but the milk could tell you the capital of Uzbekistan.

Ham again?! Is it OK to come back with thin ham, but not thin crap?

LOL Soupy, greeny beans defeats the abbreviation purpose and all.

Ooh and get James and his poncy water - is this the fabled "fancy soft drink"? Cue aaah aaaah aaaah music and wisps of smoke across a stage as the red velvet curtains open to reveal a bottle on a podium of James' flavoured water, the true elixir of the gods, nectar, the panacea for all ills.
