To think that middle aged women are really a bit pointless?

What is the point of them?

Really?

A boy in my class at school (aged about 13 I think) once proclaimed that "old people should be shot at birth".

Get your head round that one.

garlicBreathZombie · 21/10/2011 22:35

Oh, god, door-key incontinence! Shock This actually started on my 40th birthday - due to alcohol consumption I thought, but NO. It was a permanent life-change. Why the hell can't my bladder wait the extra 30 seconds?? And why does it only happen at home? Though thank god for that, eh [hshock]

Pagwatch · 21/10/2011 22:35

I look pretty good. Then I put my glasses on..

Proudnscary · 21/10/2011 22:35

Hear, hear Pagwatch (but 'again'? Confused)

Hullygully · 21/10/2011 22:34

My body's pretty much had it. I see it in the mirror and sigh. And every day I'm surprised it hasn't improved in th enight.

No Maryz, 55.
But I definitely had a misspent (sp) youth.
And since I discovered MN I desperately want to tut, but I really never see very much to tut about.

Pagwatch · 21/10/2011 22:33

I looked fucking awesome at 25.

Hullygully · 21/10/2011 22:33

I wear my karate suit all the time. Because you Never Know.

One of the few benefits of getting older is never having to shop in Next again.

SuePurblybiltFromBitsofCorpses · 21/10/2011 22:32

I wear nice dresses. And pearls. Tweed at the weekends. Really, I do. My leg has never touched combat.
But then, my body is not better now than it was at 25. Was it not a good year for you, Fabby?

Hullygully · 21/10/2011 22:32

I think making pickles should definitely go on th elist. Ditto jam and anything else that goes in a jar with muslin over the top and immediately grows a light and graceful layer of mould.

Emergency stress incontinence alert! Who's having all the fun now? Donations for spare big pants gratefully received ....

Ormirian · 21/10/2011 22:25

I make fucking good pickles!

Oh yes.

It appears I can no longer bake.

My children still quite like me.

2 out of 3. Good enough?

rycooler · 21/10/2011 22:24

Hullygully · 21/10/2011 22:24

I'm 55 you know.

Oh! I thought you were MUCH younger than me! You look wonderful! I'm SO envious!

Duty done Wink

Mandy2003 · 21/10/2011 22:15

Just looked up Caitlin Moran's latest - How to Be a Woman! Wow! Books like that were certainly not issued when I were a lass!

LadyEvilEyes · 21/10/2011 22:15

This is the best thread ever. Grin.
I'm 55 you know.

FabbyChic · 21/10/2011 22:14

I wear the same clothes now as I did when I was 30, smart casual.

I doubt my dress style will ever change, I wear Next stuff.

Combats at the weekend with a hoody.

My boobs haven't aged either, my body is better now than when I was 25.

JamieComeHome · 21/10/2011 22:13

"down-by on a lady" is DHs phrase for womens' front bottoms. Oh how we larf!

Mandy2003 · 21/10/2011 22:11

I love that phrase "lush down-by" Smile

mutha2two · 21/10/2011 22:11

Sorry Mandy had trouble getting into my superhag cape. The wholesale removal of body hair at all times - or so it seems - is that another tribulation about being young? Who has read the wonderful treatment by Caitlin Moran in her latest book on this topic?
