I go to access my wifi on my mobile phone and see the above Shock

Is it me they're talking about?

Visited a friend this evening, went to connect to her wifi and hers was named penispenispenispenislol 🤣 I did not know she was a MNer, and she doesn’t know I am, so we didn’t speak of this router. I remembered this thread and had to come back to the laugh!

I'm in the US. A guy in my area, I presume its a guy anyway, has his named "FBI surveillance van". I bet its a deterrent to stealing internet.

You can access the parameters for some routers by typing the address in the internet explorer/firefox etc 192.168.1.1 and then going to router and altering the name in the name field.

I want to do this now, but can't figure it out. Took so bloody long to set up in the first place, I think I got bored of the silly names I tried to create. How do you say "I can hear you in the garden" in Russian? Or Filipino? I could change it to whoever is making the most noise.

Ooo MumDiddy I love it. I assume he only changes it for a short amount of time, as it's now back to BigD. I'm making an assumption here but that is the only named wifi and it disappears whenever the C* one appears... Smile Tempting as it is to reciprocate I'm worried the wifi renaming will only get worse if I lower myself to his level But this thread has made me laugh no end since I began it.

Our wifi, network and various computers are all named after Greek gods. I am pretty sure that DH won't let me change it, he is very particular about his network

Ah never thought of doing this, now do I change mine to something to with the pathetic parking round here or a smoking one, constant cigarette smoke comng in from both sides, front & back. Angry

For those asking how to change, click on the internet icon on toolbar, click on network and sharing centre. Under the picture of the network on the right hand side, click on 'customise'. Here you have the option to change name. That's Virgin, assuming it's the same regardless of providers if you are using windows.
