I've NEVER had a boil, ever, and now, 4 days after I go from long hair to a short bob, I've got something that looks like another nipple. It HURTS! I've put metanium on it and it's coming up to a point but there's no head on it. I don't feel too well either but that might be unrelated.

What should I do?! Help!

OP, please please go to A&E!!!!!!! Now.

DP has a cyst on his chest that he'd had for years but he'd keep touching it and it became infected. Went to GP who tried to squeeze it FOUR times. He gave him anti-biotics. DP still felt unwell , and went to A&E as he was working in London near UCLH so I just told him to go. The GP had spread the infection by squeezing it - he had surgery that night to remove the whole thing. He was on anti-biotics and had to have the 'hole' dressed every day or three weeks.

Please please get this seen to.

ObviouslyOblivious · 17/08/2011 20:29

I do hope you're ok Holly?

musttidyupmusttidyup · 17/08/2011 20:28

I am utterly engrossed in this saga. Smile

whomovedmychocolate · 17/08/2011 20:27

I also got my hair cut today Catsmamma - Holly is so inspiring. In a sort of sick way Grin

MiniMousse · 17/08/2011 20:24

ok, haven't read entire thread but have enjoyed the kitchen aid link hee hee.
anyway, am a bit of a boil veteran and I think you should go to a and e. I had one on my back, it kept exploding pus (with LUMPS) which shot several feet across the room. had antib's but no joy.

Ended up back at GPs, really not taking it seriously until she got on the phone to the hospital. I was in emergency surgery the following morning at 7am (general anaesthetic!) having it (turned out it was an abscess) removed. Yep, I thought it was funny too, but turns out these things are no laughing matter and can make you v poorly indeed, think I was one step away from blood poisoning. Explains why I felt a bit doolally! Please don't delay.

It's great that you have grown attached to your pustule

Grin there's a phrase i never thought I'd see!

GlaikitFizzog · 17/08/2011 20:02

Holly are you still with us

Catsmamma · 17/08/2011 19:59

i briefly forgot about this today, and went and had my haircut, i am torn between hoping i do and hoping i don't get a mahooooooosive boil.

you are going to be mopping that up at christmas!!

whomovedmychocolate · 17/08/2011 19:53

Yeah...having reviewed your latest pics.... that's not better - you really aren't going to get this sorted with your GP. Off to A&E is a really good plan. Honestly, if it does blow you will have a large open wound on the back of your head which is already infected. A bit risky no? Hmm

It's great that you have grown attached to your pustule but I really do think you need to let him/her/it/them go :)

GlaikitFizzog · 17/08/2011 19:43

Just googled "how to get ahead in advertising".

OP, if the boil starts talking you must film it!

catinboots · 17/08/2011 19:06

shmoz - I've already asked this Grin

I suggest you buy it and watch it OP

LetUsPrey · 17/08/2011 19:05

I can see it now ... A Greggs sausage roll in one hand, a Fruit Shoot in the other with a Daily Mail tucked under your arm, screaming "It was the voice! It made me do it! THE VOICE OF SAURON!!!!!"

shmoz · 17/08/2011 18:29

OP, have you ever seen the film 'How to get a head in advertising'? Just wondered.... Smile

MigratingCoconuts · 17/08/2011 18:13

Joyce...on the whole, I'd rather have the mince meat attachment! Tough call, I know...

MonkeyJungleConga · 17/08/2011 18:09

OMG this thread was already a corker but the whole KitchenAid thing has just completely sent it soaring to the No.1 top thread of all time IMO. I have never laughed so much at a thread before - tears streaming down my face.

Hope it gets better soon tho.

JoyceBarnaby · 17/08/2011 18:04

Sadly not, MigratingCocomuts. I've never had a boil, either. I feel a bit cheated by life today.

AtYourCervix · 17/08/2011 17:53

I just don't know what to say.

MigratingCoconuts · 17/08/2011 17:47

Joyce...Glad to hear it Grin does it have a mince meat attachment? (its important)

GlaikitFizzog · 17/08/2011 17:42

I've been out all day so just catching up! I luaghed to hard a little bit of wee came out at the kitchenaid hijack!

So is it a split personality cyst now it has multiple heads.

Head 1 - CystFabregas
Head 2 - Sauron, evil twin of CystFabregas, hell bent on taking over the world Holly's neck
Head 3 - Kath Kitson, younger sister of Sauron and Cyst, who is a baking fiend, with a secret ingredient in her custard tarts.
We jusy need names for head 4 5 6 7 8 and 9. Suggestions on a post card a'la naming Blue Peter dogs! :o

JoyceBarnaby · 17/08/2011 17:29

When I'm using my Kitchenaid from now on, I shall be thinking of your boil.
