I am 39w pg and dh and I have to travel to his home town to fill in some paperwork. the idiot has neglected to book us a hotel or even a B&B, we dont even know whether there is even a hospital nearby, at this rate I'll be giving rate in a bleddy barn!

part of me thinks he has done this on purpose (baby isnt his) AIBU to be flaming furious with him?

stillavirgin hope you have the sense to keep only those bearing gifts or loved ones at the birth - that Herod can be a pushy b*stard.

androbbob · 16/12/2010 21:00

Have you packed your labour bag - you will find some useful threads here of what to include - anti bac spray as some places arent too clean, some clothes for the baby, a few nappies, oh and possibly some formula milk in case you cant get to a 24 hour shop to get some and the breastfeeding doesnt work out - dont want the little nipper to be hungry with all those expected visitors. What is your MIL like? Rushing to stay with you in preparation for the birth? Hope all goes well!!

lunaticfringe, he says that he will make sure we are safe and well. that he will make sure we are all ok. I have to put my faith in him.

Acanthus, do you think so? as long as its safe and warm, i suppose.

OP - you might want to pack a labour bag to take with you, just in case. You know, those little home essentials - the swaddling robe, incense, ferrero rocher for passing wise men/antiseptic handwash for passing shepherds etc. Should be part of all due Dec mother's labour bags..

MumBarTheDoorSantaUsesChimneys · 16/12/2010 20:58

YABU for wanting mothercare vouchers. Xmas Grin

However as far as your fiances concerned, you need to tell him to pull his finger out his ass, and for the love of God put you and the baby first, and if he can't manger that then.........................................

well its not called boxing day for nothing. Wink

Avantia · 16/12/2010 20:57

I will pray that it all works out for you , however experince tells that it will end in tears , may be now , next year or even 30 years !

Acanthus · 16/12/2010 20:55

I believe you may be able to rely on the kindness of strangers? Sometimes an inn will let you use an outbuilding as long as you don't look like the sort that will go on about health and safety. Good luck with the birth.

Real Dad probably hiding behind a messenger of some sorts - just can't face his obligations , probably thinks he is God's gift to women ? Confused

stillavirgin · 16/12/2010 20:49

yes, my first. he is truly a miracle baby (i really think we are having a boy, but know J would like a girl) I am very tired and feel frumpy (dont you hate the last weeks?) but dh says i look great... Xmas Grin

rudolph, oooh good tip! they fancy themselves as great stargazers, think they are ever so wise, but can barely find the fishmongers at times.

thebrownstuff, Xmas Grin tis a secret, I was called a troll on netmums when i let slip his identity!

Shipscat · 16/12/2010 20:49

InkyStamp · 16/12/2010 20:48

Grin Very Good!

blackeyedsusan · 16/12/2010 20:47

Some men are hopeless, has the real Dad got anything sorted? I have heard that he is quite an important person in your country.

Avantia · 16/12/2010 20:46

Oh come on all you faithful , Mary be joyful in your expectation .

BigNipsSmallTits · 16/12/2010 20:45

Or Ruth or Miriam?

ItsAHollyJollyTee · 16/12/2010 20:45

Hmm, I seem to remember the same thing happening last year around this time...

BigNipsSmallTits · 16/12/2010 20:45

Have you got any names picked out? What about Paul or John?

DreamTeamGirl · 16/12/2010 20:45

Aww is it your first?

I know you arent in this country and medical care isnt all that in other areas, so make sure to pack some sani-wipes in case you end up camping or something... (shudder)

I will go for late Friday night in the sweepstake

EauRudolph · 16/12/2010 20:44

Make sure your DH tells his mates to pack their sat nav and not to rely on landmarks or celestial phenomena for navigation, otherwise they'll be really late.

thebrownstuff · 16/12/2010 20:44

bloody hell, very good Grin

Was working out how to ask whose baby etc...tactfully of course Grin Grin Grin

stillavirgin · 16/12/2010 20:42

there has been some civil unrest recently, but the weather is expected to be good.

he really is wonderful 99% of the time, but then he is just a man. he has been very understanding about our situation though, and sometimes I dont know what he sees in me.

OP posts:
SparklyJules · 16/12/2010 20:41

Don't forget to pack some swaddling clothes, just in case!

JaquelinehydeAllThePresents · 16/12/2010 20:41
