TMI alert! Have had a very bad tummy bug and am left in a position where venturing more that 30 seconds from the loo would be a foolish risk. I've decided that the water I'm drinking is passing through my body at great speed so in a rash moment I've swallowed a round piece of floaty plastic to time how long it takes to come out. I'm mad aren't I, too long on the sofa with only flat lemonade and salty crisps for company I think.

ooh, you made the Round-Up.

In fact. This thread IS the round-up.

Bit like shooting fish in a barrel for Aitch this week, admittedly.

BarnacleBill · 05/11/2010 14:27

Ok I need to know what we're talking about here...

Lostinwails please can you point out the lego toy that the Bowel Transit Timing Device came from please?

I lost out on placing my bet on the time of the BTTD's reappearance so I'd like to bet that the lego toy is the spiky-looking, green and black vehicle at the top left. In fact I'll go further ans say that the BTTD is the little red circle on the bonnet area.

I thank you.

PlentyOfPockets · 05/11/2010 14:23

what about sticklebricks?

lostinwails · 05/11/2010 14:20

PennyDreadful that is the best thing I have ever read and am contemplating printing it out to giggle over whenever I need a lift! I am chuckling myself into what could be a dangerous situation this soon after food. (immodium apparently not as good as it likes to think it is)

kickarse Blush

And as for duplo, what does he think I'm made of oooowwwww!

No lego??Shock

What have you done to it?!

Tinkerisdead · 05/11/2010 14:00

Sorry to ruin the magic but despite my name DH is not a doctor, however during mundane texts over our DD he rudely interupted to say yeah yeah, never mind that..has the lego arrived yet?

I have broken the news to him and he is terribly upset he says next time would you mind making it bloody duplo so you dont miss it! We've all been on the edge of our seats you know!

You must update this thread if said lego ever makes an appearance.

QuintessentialShadows · 05/11/2010 13:54

Alternatively, she does not need to drop lego into the toilet bowl, she can recreate the experiment by filling her washing bowl and watch lego bop around in there. Much cleaner.

Especially if she has young children who likes to bite on lego...

MmeLindt · 05/11/2010 13:48

hahahaha at the Dr asking if a random internet sprite has shat lego yet.

Immodium only works for a day or two for me, so it may not take that long.

kickarsequeensbonfireburnup · 05/11/2010 13:48

lostinwails!! You should have been pooing through a sieve!!! Now we will never know :(..........

Grin
MayorNaze · 05/11/2010 13:47

it's still not out?? Shock

i expect it has appeared and you missed it. you could try dropping bits of lego into the toilet bowel at various velocities to determine how well they float, whether they instantly vanish round the u-bend, thatsort of thing??

or, alternatively, you could ring your dr and confess Grin

PennyDreadful · 05/11/2010 13:47

This is the best thread ever.

lostinwails · 05/11/2010 13:40

According to DaisyFields it may be 6 weeks before we see lego now I've taken immodium.

PMSL at TheDoctorsWife46's DH (so presumably a Dr?) asking "has that woman shat lego yet?"

Teaandcakeplease · 05/11/2010 12:11

Yeo valley is great, I also quite like Biopot, mmmmm yum!

Immodium doesn't block me up very long, maybe 2 days? 6 weeks? Yikes

ChristmasTrulyReigns · 05/11/2010 11:59

Lost, you may have something to contribute. Grin

lostinwails · 05/11/2010 11:45

So sorry TheDoctorsWife46, I realise I have let a good many people down with my lack of forethought. Next time I will check with mumsnet before I chose my method of gauging transit times. this looks like it would do the trick whilst making the day even more enjoyable.

PlentyOfPockets - I read your post last night about waking the house up and I cried, and I mean CRIED with laughter. DH thinks I'm a nutter.

I haven't laughed like that in years.

Tinkerisdead · 05/11/2010 11:32

I cant believe this No Lego?!!

My Dh plays pool on a Thurs and its usually the night i watch tv in bed etc and he comes back to me snoring..last night I trawled hysterically through this thread and he came home to find me laughing my head off.

So today even he texts to say has that woman shat lego yet? I log on to check and nothing. nada. zilch. I am deflated.

HowsTheSerenity · 05/11/2010 11:32

I thought that it might make a clinking sound as it hit the toilet....and it was only 5 years ago.

My mum puts money in the plum pudding at Christmas. I state that she never gave it to me and she says that I ate it. She is probably right. And that is how I ate it.

My dog ate all the easter eggs one year. There was sparkly dog shit in the back yard for about two weeks after. Pretty.

HystericalMe · 05/11/2010 11:30

Unbelieveable! Lostinwails! No lego? I've been following your progress religiously.

Ah well, good luck with the yoghurt.

lostinwails · 05/11/2010 11:27

HowsTheSerenity, from my experience in a children's hospital (I used to wield a very sensitive hand held metal detector over children's bodies to see if they had swallowed metal, you can see where my bowel obsession is coming from eh?) metal tarnishes very quickly in the bowel so you shouldn't expect to find the same shiny coin at the other end, this was an assuption most parents made as I would usher them out of the department with plastic gloves and a sieve.

How do so many people swallow coins? I mean I had to swallow a small piece of lego with lots of water (and yes, yes I know now I was being a loon). That's out third poster who swallowed money.
