Which College in London is your child attending to and which course? Looking for inspiration

Helping DD look for colleges for next year. There are lots and some reviews not very encouraging. Can you please recommend colleges we can look at? Either with Btec or UAL diplomas.

So far we have

London Screen Academy
Fashion retail Academy
City of Westminster College

DD doesn’t want a school sixth form.

Croydon School of Art at Croydon College does UAL diplomas in several subjects.

@Peacot91 I'm north east so probably far for you too. But if you're considering LSA in Islington, Capital City (which was CANDI) is near there.

Most places have open days over the next couple of months to give you an idea. With DD, we missed quite a few of them so just put in applications regardless and kicked the decision down the line. You can apply to as many as you like which was helpful. There tend to be taster days after GCSEs which was when DD really decided.

The other thing I found really helpful was information from friends with older kids in the area who knew more about the options. I'm sure there are several colleges around se London that we don't know about.

It’s sooo confusing!
I am in North London so these are the colleges I know about. I bet there are more your way.
I don’t know if BTEC are a “thing”anymore? But all the places do different qualifications.
The only way to really understand it is to go on their appalling websites and try to make it out!
Is there someone at your child’s school who deals with their next steps? There should be. I’d find out and ask them.

Morley College seems good but a bit more tricky to commute from where we are

Thank you. DC is still indecisive of what they want to study so we are looking at different colleges which are good and easy to commute from South East London. There is so much out there that is difficult to narrow the selection. Also when you look at some of the reviews it kinds of put me off at bit; so wanted advice on people with kids at some good colleges. It is a bit step moving from school to a massive college.

Capital City College seems to have lot lots of different buildings. Is this correct? there is one in Kings Cross, one in Islington, etc. Are they all good or do they vary?

Morley college. Do they do btecs, diplomas, etcs for kids 16-18?

Was going to say CANDI too. I think it does depend on other things. What is your child interested in? London is a very big place. I know they can travel but my DD rejected a couple that would be more than an hour's commute. She's doing trad A levels.

If she's into music, I know people who are doing diplomas at ELAM and Access. There are also various technical colleges doing different things. A friend's kid is doing a furniture making course. Really any college in a London is too wide criteria.
