Dd has gone into college, I'm sure my older girls knew via the UCAS portal that they'd got in before collecting results...
Update... Just as I was typing she sent message to say she's in! Off to York then...so happy and relieved!

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 13/08/2026 08:05

I'm in HE and on the other side of the fence- good luck to everyone here!

Being at a university is great in spite of all the carping and negativity you see in the press. I love working here and meeting amazing young people. Hope everyone gets what they're after!

Tebheag · 13/08/2026 08:04

BBD here B accounts B business and D geography he is happy.

MiniMidiMaxi · 13/08/2026 08:02

Step 1 complete! DS is confirmed for his firm, which should mean he’s good for his DA offer! On our way on to school to check.

Seaside3 · 13/08/2026 08:01

Why am I nervously waiting whilst the kids sleep?? Wake up!!

BlackBean2023 · 13/08/2026 08:01

Frantic refreshing has started

frugalkitty · 13/08/2026 08:00

One minute to go! UCAS first as he's got to go into college to pick up results, so the uni will give us a clue as to how well he's done (insurance is unconditional!)

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 13/08/2026 07:59

Just got summoned to help her log into the portal then sent away again!

Drizzlybear · 13/08/2026 07:58

Good luck everyone!

TeenToTwenties · 13/08/2026 07:57

Good luck!

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 13/08/2026 07:56

Not an A grades house here either, our baseline hope is for BCD, could be up to ABC but we'll see. If she does end up going to uni in the next few years it will be drama school so grades are not really relevant, CCC is the highest offer I've seen, and plenty of the drama schools don't even ask for grades at all.

DidYeAye16 · 13/08/2026 07:54

This is my favourite thread of the year every year and I'm not even in England, good luck to all your children hope they all get the results they are hoping for.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 13/08/2026 07:53

DS is still in bed. Not sure what time he got in last night but as he was one of the last to collect gcse results in years 10 and 11 and AS results last year, I’m not holding my breath!

His course isn’t in clearing so he definitely needs to meet his offer to get his deferred place 😬

@ventress , hope your DS’s plans all come together and that you are doing ok in this heat. You’ve been a wonderful source of support over our many threads xx

gingercat02 · 13/08/2026 07:43

Yes that is DS plan, it was his maths GCSE that they rejected him on, so assuming his grades are OK he will be on the phone to discuss.
Agree with you @TeenLifeMumA grades are not the only way. We are not an A grades house.
I haven't even bought a card yet, don't dare until I know.
DS is in the shower. School at 8am.
Good luck all

Edited

My phone is having a bad day
That was in reply to @Boreded
@TeenLifeMumglad your DD is OK

Katymaus · 13/08/2026 07:48

I've also been awake since first light 😬 Thanks for the new thread for today @SilverBlue4 DD is super anxious and still deciding whether to look at UCAS or go straight to school. I'm going to have another cuppa and try to keep up the semblance of being less anxious than DD!
Wishing everyone here good luck - all our DC are brilliant.

circleheart · 13/08/2026 07:47

DD's school doesn't open until 9 which is so annoying! She's been up since 5.30 and nervously waiting on the UCAS page to update.

AnonyMumAuDHD · 13/08/2026 07:46

Ugh! Stomach ache first thing upon waking! Cannot hear DS moving around, but that doesn’t mean he’s not laying bed looking at the clock on his phone…

good luck everyone

Tebheag · 13/08/2026 07:44

Lampzade · 13/08/2026 07:40

Best of the luck to everyone
I still get nervous every results day even though all my dc s have completed their A levels years ago

BlackBean2023 · 13/08/2026 07:38

Our builders have just turned up and I’ve made them a cuppa - their first question “is she in yet?” Grin Love that even they are invested!

Shodan · 13/08/2026 07:32

I woke up every couple of hours last night! Ds2 said he slept fine though- typical!

He's meeting a friend to go into school for 8 am for their results- entirely his choice.

I'd love it if he got all his predicted grades, but realistically he doesn't need to for his uni offer.

Good luck everyone!

Desperatelyseekinglazysusan · 13/08/2026 07:28

I've been awake since 5.30. I've been listening to a rubbish audiobook as I don't want to put the news on. I'm trying to stop thinking about it. Clearly not working!

CoffeeCantata · 13/08/2026 07:26

Yes, good luck everyone.

I went through this a decade ago at a time when the press was full of 'this year we're coming down hard - no more grade inflation'! I was more stressed than my son!

GinnyW · 13/08/2026 07:23

I didn’t sleep. 38 minutes to go.
