Another one whose kids are way past this stage but I love these threads. DS2’s A Level results morning was the most nervous I’ve ever been — I was levitating. Such a big day. Congratulations to all your kids.

DS got 3 As and an A in his EPQ. We are SO proud of him. He worked his arse off and got his offer grades and his place to study his chosen course 😍

Didn’t get the grades he wanted BUT he’s got into his first choice for a course he loves. Exeter here he comes!

My DS got 4 A Stars. FM, Maths, Physics and Economics. Unfortunately due to his slightly below 5 TMUA results taken in October he received a rejection from Warwick Maths. But he got into Warwick Maths and Stats now. We are pleased. School website was slow and playing up. No emails from uni yet. Hope all our young people have a nice future 🙏

My dd was a mark off an A Star a couple of years ago in an essay subject. She requested her papers and did go for a remark as she thought there were marks there. She got the A * and it got her an academic scholarship at uni worth £4000.
She already had her uni place confirmed so no need to but she is happy she did it.

DS is off to Loughborough 😁. It's his insurance but I think it will be great for him. Off to school in a bit and it will be interesting to see which grade he dropped so he did get into Warwick which was always going to be a long shot.

We got caught up in calling everyone, so I'm late to the party!

DC1 4 x Astar. Her place at Oxford is official.

DC2 AstarAB. Higher than expected in biology! She'll be applying grades in hand for 2027 so she should have lots of options now.

It's taking everything in me to not suggest to DD that she change her mind and put in a last minute application through clearing to go to uni this year rather than next. I KNOW she needs a break from education (and so do I!), I KNOW she isn't at the right standard yet to get into drama school, I KNOW she isn't really mature enough/emotionally ready for uni, but something in me just wants to push her (or rather her to push herself) to go this year. So I'm telling anonymous strangers rather than let myself talk it through with her!

My son got A maths, A Further maths, A comp sci, A physics. He is absolutely gutted he didn’t get his firm, needed A in FM. The awful thing is he didn’t have to do FM as his college didn’t offer it this year so he’s done it all by himself as well as paying for the exams. If he didn’t do that he would have got in. Ahh well

Glad we got offer first as results weren’t as excepted - ABD. The D is a surprise, and 5 marks off a C.
It’s a bit moot and she got an A in History which is what she’s studying. Her offer (contextual) was BBB

DS1 was one mark off an A, but we didn’t bother with a re-mark in the end as he’d got the grades he needed for his first choice, and we weren’t sure if the re-mark process might put the brakes on the uni registration etc. And presumably there’s always a small chance the final mark might be lower!

Congratulations to your DS. I think you’re right, I got into my first choice (Bristol, half a century ago) but for some reason I remember getting one of my grades re-marked anyway. I can’t think why, it seems like a waste of time and anxiety now and will all be forgotten by the end of the first week of the first term, anyway

DD is out playing tennis but has taken a moment between games to check her school portal (!). She has two A* and an A and feels “happy and relieved”. Back to the tennis game. Wishing the best to everyone today.

I’m another one who, despite university years being long gone, and living abroad anyway these days, really enjoys these threads annually. Congratulations to all the parents on here and wishing your children the best of everything in their further education/careers.

Dd got into Bath - her first choice. Lots of tears all round. So proud! Feels like yesterday I was on mumsnet getting advice on breastfeeding so this all feels very surreal and emotional!

ABB, stunned and delighted. Guaranteed his firm, but presumably he's on the phone re clearing as we speak.
