DC said medieval History (Pearsons) went really well today. It's his favourite topic so he was pleased that it went well. Think the other two might be a bit harder for him. Thankfully no more exams until after half term and is now half way through a-levels and planning a well deserved lie in tomorrow and dinner with his girlfriend.

Hope Geography and Physics and other subjects go well this week!

Are there any science DCs on here? I feel like it's only DS doing Physics tomorrow!

I think it would be nice at some point to make a little chart of what the DCs are hoping to study and at which Uni so I we can remember what everyone's doing. We did one a few years back for my older DS's year and it was really helpful.

Mine! I offered him the mini revision course this evening on physics online for a recap but he said no. Well he actually said "I'll leave it for now" 🤣

He's been working hard and doing what he needs to on past papers but I'm still scared. He has to get an A for his firm.

Then further maths on Thursday.

He's doing maths and computer science as well so the three weeks after half term are not much fun.

Good luck to your DS for tomorrow 🙂

Ventress · 19/05/2026 19:14

That’s a great idea @JustHereWithMyPopcorn. Perhaps on the new thread that it looks like we’ll need! @scandinavianyelloware you able to set up a new thread please?

No science here I’m afraid but there must be several young people doing physics tomorrow. I hope it goes well for your son!

DS very happy with OCR Tudors. Said it was hard but very good.

All over until after half term now. DS says he’s going to stay in bed tomorrow!

OCR history (Russia) was a bit of a mare, 30 marker, good, one 25 OK, other 25, terrible. Seems everyone thought it was the worst paper they have seen.
However that's the worst over now. Human Geography on Thursday and then done until the 2 and 11 June.

Exactly same here. First question fantastic, other two awful . Bit of a shock.

Echobelly · 19/05/2026 17:36

DC happy with first exam today (history) Apparently they correctly predicted what the first question would be!

Desperatelyseekinglazysusan · 19/05/2026 17:33

Hello just jumped on here to see about history. Apparently Pearson's History US paper was difficult too.

DS reasonably happy with history (crusades). He ran out of time a little bit concluding the last essay but otherwise he is quite pleased. He is now half way through his exams! Next up geography on Thursday.

Hope everyone else fared well today!

HereWeAreToday · 19/05/2026 15:17

Hope today went well for all those with exams

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 19/05/2026 13:45

Great news on the art @ArchitectureMum

Good luck to them all today.

Tell me this is easier with child no 2! Ds has GCSES next year. Opposite issue with him, he’s just into music not academic - but he does have to pass English maths to get into the school he wants.

No, sorry, it isn't! 😬

Ventress · 19/05/2026 12:24

Same here @GirlsInGreengood luck!

Excellent news on the raw score for art @ArchitectureMum. Moderation doesn’t tend to change (so I understand) Well done to your daughter.

GirlsInGreen · 19/05/2026 11:59

Good luck for everyone with History today!. DD is in purdah for a clash so wont see her/ speak to her until much later today.
This history paper is her dread😬, have overhead a few "Oh just f*ck Charles Stuart & f*ck Cromwell too" . Oh well🤞

ArchitectureMum · 19/05/2026 11:46

Good luck for history today and all the other exams before half term. We are still waiting for the first one on 3rd June. It’s been the strangest time but DD is working consistently.

She now has her raw Art marks and thank goodness they tick off the A* she needs for Edinburgh (although they are subject to moderation of course and quite close to the boundary so who knows). It’s a great bit of news though to keep her going. Now she ‘only’ needs two 2 As. Pressure off very slightly although DD puts pressure on herself anyway.

Ventress · 19/05/2026 10:05

Oh bless her - I’m sure it’s not nearly as bad as she imagines @HereWeAreToday

Glad your DC had good economics exams@JessyCarrand @Fabfabfaband everyone else.

Good luck today everyone!!

DS has history 1 this afternoon then all over until three in the week after half term🤞

Countrylife2002 · 19/05/2026 09:10

wonderstuff · 18/05/2026 22:53

Dd said her hand was hurting after economics, she doesn’t normally write so much. But she was fairly happy, I think she was so worried that it was a relief it wasn’t terrible. She was glad to be home, they were waiting outside the hall in the rain and got quite cold! Everything from here on is spaced out a bit so the blind panic has eased. We had tears and swearing over the weekend, doors slamming…

Countrylife2002 · 18/05/2026 22:16

gingercat02 · 18/05/2026 20:57

Fingers crossed and good luck ☘️

And to your DS!

postitnot · 18/05/2026 21:08

@fabfabfab thank you for your kind words. She wants an A ... but maybe if politics goes better than expected she'll get an A in that instead!

gingercat02 · 18/05/2026 20:57

Countrylife2002 · 18/05/2026 20:33

Yes 😬

Fingers crossed and good luck ☘️

Countrylife2002 · 18/05/2026 20:34

JessyCarr · 18/05/2026 17:36

DD is home, and pretty happy with Edexcel macroeconomics although she would (as always) have liked more time. We did a big blitz of niche topics together over the weekend, so she was pleased with what came up. Next stop: Politics 1, on Thursday.

Also politics 😬😬😬

This house is looking forward to this week being over !!

Countrylife2002 · 18/05/2026 20:33

gingercat02 · 18/05/2026 18:06

Anyone else doing Russia for History tomorrow afternoon. DS is dreading it.

Yes 😬

HereWeAreToday · 18/05/2026 19:51

Dd is struggling to focus after the issues with geography last week. Her view is that there is now point revising because it all comes down to the questions on the day. Nothing I say can convince her otherwise
