If you ask for a deferral and its not accepted, do you still keep your firm offer

DD got her first choice today (good news) , but with lower grades than she hoped for (she is gutted, she worked so hard) She desperately wants to defer a year, work and travel..
So the question is, we have asked for a deferral, but if they don't accept it does she still keep the firm offer they have made her for this year.

Yes you keep your firm. The deferral won’t have anything to do with the grades so she should be fine if their policy is broadly to allow deferrals

You do still have the option of going this year if deferral is refused, assuming you are talking about same uni/course. Some unis are more open to it than others.
