Class of 18. No need for new school shoes

Congratulations to all your DC. My DD is 24 today! I've hung around this thread with a few name changes. Lovely to hear updates. I remember you all.

My DD very happy in a post grad job in her desired field and socialising a lot!!!
Graduated extremely well despite being attacked 3 weeks before her finals prompting a mental health crash! Was very unwell. Somehow, she got through finals successfully and got a job 6 mths later.

Needing to let go now. Having been so close and involved - hard!! I let her contact me - which thankfully she does a lot!

Reading thread: studies, living her life, PGCEs, next sibling doing personal statement all sounds so positive.

Well done mumsnetters . You (we) did it! They grew up - and strong!

That's a lovely update @OhYouBadBadKitten, it's lovely when they are living their lives well.

Ds1 is loving his job and his life, despite only 2 hours sleep last weekend when he was on call. He was exhausted but content when I saw him last.

Congratulations to your ds LittleDrummerGirl!

dd graduated with her masters a year ago and settled into her new life. She's doing what she wanted to do and is content with life. It is so nice for her not to be on the annual merry go round of exams anymore.

Today DS has bought new shoes ready for school on Monday, despite the thread title!

The course doesn't start until the third week of September, but he'll be based at the same school where he has been working, so he is going in anyway, to help the new class settle in.

@ShanghaiDiva, my dd decided a month ago to go to university, picked up her results last week and starts in 3 weeks.

@starfleet, ds1 is just back from there. We have graduation photos from the green near Parliament with Westminster and Big Ben in the background.

DS completed his masters last year, we attended his graduation last month. He is enjoying his London life after moving down for his job and has been lucky enough to have a group of friends (from both university and school) who are there, albeit a bit scattered around. He seems to have a good social life......

Congratulations to your DS @littledrummergirl. I left this thread as DD started university a year after everyone else, but I have often wondered how everyone's DC got on. DD graduated lat year and has stayed in her university city.

DD transferred to part-time study as she was struggling due to her disabilities. She is about to start her 4th year so two more years to go.

After two years of working as a TA / LSA, DS is about to start a primary PGCE, so he'll be a student again!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I'm not sure if DS1 is the last to finish, but he graduated last month and is working in his first choice vet practice as a fully qualified veterinary surgeon.

Good luck to your DD @OhYouBadBadKitten. My DD was so nervous for her first exam that she felt too sick to eat anything. She has some online and some in person. Three more exams to go.

Finals start next week for DD. She has stepped off the revision treadmill to see a band in Milton Keynes tonight. This was a postponed gig from 2 years ago.

Ds1 had his exams before Christmas. He sent us video yesterday that someone had taken of him while he was performing an operation.
He seemed so grown up.

Good luck with her exams Rampant and I hope the pause helps her. It sounds very wise for her to just step off the progression treadmill and recuperate for a while.

Good luck for those exams. Ds1 should have his finals next year all being well. It seems strange thinking that his schoolmates on the whole would have finished last year.
