Lobster so do Oxford send out interview invites in November and do they let you know then if you haven't got an interview?

Like Kitten said, it’s going to be hard waiting until November to hear if they invite her to interview, but at least for us that’s only one of her applications, not 4 of them!

The Veterinarian seems very similar to medicine. Deadline 15/10 then the wait for interviews, extra questionnaires etc. Unlike medicine their doesn't seem to be any special threads for it so you lot are stuck with me.
Ds1 has formed his own support group with other vet applicants and that has been very helpful in ironing out kinks.

We submitted early to get it out of the way and because ds's fee status may take a while to be determined. There are about 5 students from his school applying to the UK and the ones applying for medicine have submitted. Those whose fee status is clear ie definitely international fees have not submitted their forms yet and school is not chasing them at the moment.

My DD is trying for Oxbridge but with the knowledge that it probably won't happen. Think her sixth form staff are concentrating on Oxbridge/Medicine/Conservatoire students first and once they are done they will help others finish applications in November. Don't think they will leave it til the January deadline.

Ursula I have the college timetable in front of me, ours are supposed to have their PS with their tutor by the end of this week and the internal deadline for general UCAS applications is mid November. My suspicion is that this is because college wants it nailed down before they start with mock exams. It goes on to say that it can take two weeks from the student submitting the form to it going off so they shouldn't leave it until the last minute. I would take a wild guess that there are large numbers each year that stir themselves just before the end of term.

So all those of you whose offspring have submited, are they all applying to Oxbridge or for Medicine/Dentistry? There doesn't appear to be any sense of urgency from DD or her school with regards to submitting her UCAS form. I think we will definitely be close to the deadline...............

Not til late November at the earliest and then it's only to know if she's got any interviews. It's a brutal process. Think she's having a little dream of it being as easy as getting this offer !

My DD got an offer today. 5th choice and not what she wants (medicine) but as she says 'it's nice to be loved'. Now the llooooonnng wait for medicine results

DD isn’t anxious exactly, more sort of jumpy, like she’s a ball of nervous energy. She says it’s a mixture of emotions - the anticipation and excitement of offers combined with the dread of a rejection, the apprehension about the aptitude tests, the hope for an invitation to interview but then the sickening nerves about going to an actual interview . . I hate wishing time away but I really am looking forward to the end of this waiting for offers stage, when hopefully things will feel more settled one way or another. Then all that’s left will be to get the grades . . . better buy more !!

Ds1 had a bit of a stress head today. I told him last week he should be aiming to have everything ready to send off today. He came home from school and we went through his list: everything is ready to go except the last minute change of one uni choice means he has some forms to get signed by all of his work experience placements. Although this will be easy to resolve (one has sorted it already) it caused a little stress with the two of us shouting. Even the dog disappeared!
Anyway he hasn't submitted yet and has gone off to cadets so hopefully will be feeling better when he gets home.

They are supposed to be anxious? DS must have missed that memo.

Thanks for the replies. Head of sixth form told her today he will be doing the final submissions this week before the Oxbridge closing date. So I am glad that I asked her and she checked she was on his pile of references to do. She was all attitude this morning but had to admit after school that it hasn't actually gone off yet. We have paid the £24 so that is all done.

College say that students should allow two weeks for them to add the reference to the UCAS form so it doesn't surprise me at all that marmite junior has been told to allow a week.

marmitelovers DD got the UCAS welcome email within an hour of the school completing their bits and sending today. We paid the £24 last night. Perhaps the delay with your DDs is at the school end?
