NYMT/BYMT 2026

Congratulations to those whose DC have been cast, and hope they all have a wonderful experience. Hugs to those who (like me) are supporting DC who haven't. It's reassuring to hear that nearly everyone has been on the same roller coaster! I'm sure DD will want to be back next year to try again. Thanks to everyone for the advice and good company :)

Thank you, that's lovely to hear. We've been playing the music and it's fab, so catchy. Hopefully it'll make its way to a full blown show soon if this is the second time it's being workshopped.

My DD was a first timer last year and got into Fame and she is so happy to get a part this year. She fell in love with NYMT last year as she says the people you meet are supportive, likeminded and they are well cared for and have independence. For her it’s grown confidence and she has had other training and residential experiences but NYMT has been most affirming!

My DD did Unbound with BYMT and LOVED it - it is a great show. Really fun and the music is catchy. Storyline like High School Musical meets The Craft! There are some songs on Spotify and there are some clips from a concert the composer did with professional performers in London on Insta I believe. I am sure your DD will love it.

Hi there. We did receive an offer but in the email it said there would be a separate rolecall emailing being sent where we can accept or decline, which we didn't seem to get. I have emailed in to ask...

I told dd about her NMW once she was home and she was over the moon! Already off researching! She's doing Unbound, which apparently is already really well developed (was workshopped with BYMT and has a full soundtrack). Does anyone know much about it? X

DC knew they were cooked at just 5ft, 15 years old in a room of third year grads, who are - quite rightly - on another level haha. Pretty happy to have been in the room in the first place. Super news for everyone who got something! Congrats to those who have kept returning year after year. See you all next year for another round.

DS, after 4 years of trying, has finally had a show offer (The Ragged Child). He’s literally jumping for joy.

I know how hard it is for our young people when they don’t get the answer they want. We’ve been there several times. I hope they bounce back quickly.

Congrats all! Some lovely results. As suspected skills here. Glad the result didn't come on their 16th birthday. Onwards and upwards. So many lovely shows - Just So and WSS are huge favs in our house. Enjoy! May next year reap rewards for us.

If you recalled and haven't had an email I would get in touch in case an email has gone astray..assume you have checked Junk?

And also know people who had big leads last year who did not get a show. Or those who have had shows for a good few years, who didn't.

If there's one thing you can't accuse NYMT of, it's favouritism.

As far as previous participation... I don't think there is any favouritism or preference given to previous participants. The casting process seems to be very fair and balanced based on who best fits the casting critera.

I know of offers today and more so last year for first timers including lead parts.

Well done on all the dc who have received offers.

I'd be interested to know if there is anyone on here with a show offer who is an NYMT first timer? Just curious whether that makes a difference or not. Or maybe the group on this thread is not representative?

So sorry for all those disappointed today. Like others have said we’ve been in this spot before too with no recalls /offers so I know that sick feeling especially when you are the one giving your child the bad news. This life is filled with very high highs and very low lows and nothing will likely make them feel better today so just sending you the best,

He is (or at least... aspires to be!) a TT, yes.

We don't know Every Day at all, and are clueless as to what it's like. All that he and his friends who have also got it seem to have been told is that they are "cast member". Is there anyone on here who did the workshop last year and knows it well?

@somuchbetterthanbeforeyou are so right of course. Even performing arts workshops outside of NYMT are expensive. There are of course a lot of low costs things also but I know DD really came along after doing some intensive summer courses in London

Hi congratulations to everyone on their offers/results. I was just wondering if the Rolecall emails for NMWs have gone out. We haven't received one but I've seen an insta story where somebody has accepted their WSS role on Rolecall already so wondering if we have just been missed...TY
