@Mumster40 I'm so sorry to hear that, it really is such a long wait so I can understand your DC's decision. I'm sure we will all be back in the waiting room in January. Hope that you all have a wonderful time on your breaks away.

I would imagine she would prefer the day out with the gang as opposed to hanging out with me 😂 she will have a phone with her to contact us either way.. although it will be a waste for me to spend the 2 weeks in London on the off chance she needs me.. so hard to know what to do 🙈

Well, I’ve eaten all the biscuits waiting for a last minute BYMT offer to no avail….Luckily, DC has some other performance opportunities lined up and I’ve booked a couple of breaks that will take them out of the running for the summer shows now. Feeling alright about it all but DC has decided not to audition for BYMT next year as going through 5 rounds of casting over 5 months was just too stressful. It would’ve been easier to get a no in January! I hope everyone’s DC have an incredible time this summer! I’m hoping to come and support a show or two. @DaisyDay007 DD did two BYMT projects in the two week project they got one day off and as they were in Huddersfield the chaps took them by coach to the Trafford Centre for the day where they could choose between Cinema or bowling.
She also did a three week project, but that was during Covid so they were a closed cast they had two days off, but they were staying at a boarding school with a pool so they got to swim and relax on their days off.
DD is very independent, but does phone regularly.

Is there anyone also still hoping for a place from the BYMT reserve list? seem to remember there was a hopeful or two, been thinking of them!

Yes my DD sent a self tape. Hoping we hear very soon, by the end of the week maybe?

Thanks for your reply@Cherylf123 that's good to know.. its hard to know what to do. I think for peace of mind I'm staying close by but I doubt very much she will need me. She is so looking forward to it, and I'm excited for her too. 😁

Hi, I've only just seen some of these, messages. My DD did her first BYMT project last year. I didn't stay close by, she was in London and we are NW based. I barely heard from her to he honest, think she may have called me twice (once was possibly to ask for money to be transferred to her account). She had an absolutely amazing time. They did have a day off but I didn't go and collect her, there were plenty that didn't get picked up and I think they all went to the cinema and a shopping centre if I remember right.

Has anyone been cast for Wonderland in Alice with BYMT?

Sorry for the late reply. Yes I am flying over and staying nearby for the two weeks. She's still quite young although she is very independent. I doubt I will even hear from her for the duration of her stay.. I am wondering if they get 'time off' or allocated times for family visits at the weekend?

Will you fly in and drop off and then back for the shows or are you planning to hang out in London for the fortnight? Ironically it’s probably faster for you to get there than us from NW England 😂

Our daughter is 13. She will actually be 14 on day 1 of the rehearsals (though not sure if she’ll tell anyone…).

Hi @belshels we will be driving up to Ipswich as we’re south of London and easier for us.

I’m going to restrict commenting on this thread now, especially on anything BYMT related as it won’t be appropriate for me to do so moving forward due to Ds progressing.

I may still answer anything NYMT related if it’s something I have experience of.
