NYMT / BYMT 2021

Starting a new thread for NYMT / BYMT hopefuls in 2021.

DD13 is auditioning for NYMT for the second time as stage performer and as musician. We just received an invite to the next round (online workshops).

She was gutted that Covid put a stop to her show (Imaginary) last year so we are keeping everything crossed that she gets another shot.

We've also booked a BYMT audition and she's already in the musician pool there so hopefully a show of some sort this year if we get some kind of normality back again...

Anyone else out there?

Hi all, after a very long wait, DD has been offered Nightshade. Is anyone else's DC in this one? Apparently there has been a cockup. DD had a very high score but for some reason fell through the net. If I hadn't phoned they probably would have forgotten all about her. It makes me wander what she might have been offered if this hadn't happened.

Congratulations on your BYMT results!!! We are still waiting on NYMT here. When were the BYMT auditions? My DDs audition for NYMT was only on Sat but my nerves are frayed already!

Hi! Just called bymt today to check on any news and soon after they let me know we were offered a place on why the whales came! If you're still waiting to hear back from them i strongly recommend you call them to check tomorrow. The lady was very nice and let me know that in fact we should have heard by then but email must have got lost! Anyone know how to get onto the facebook groups with other cast members on the same show, cant seem to find it!

I think you always hear back from BYMT & NYMT one way or the other. I concur about the self tapes for tv/film parts. You seldom hear anything back unless recalled and then you hear nothing unless you get the job. It would be great if people gave feedback or something but nothing :-(

@Operagirl1 I think NYMT and BYMT will always give an answer - after all, they're paid to! But most things that involve self tapes for audio/tv/film parts just never reply unless you're recalled.

I need to find me some way of dealing with the waiting. I really can't cope... DD however, seems to be just fine at it!

Waiting takes up more time in this game than any of the doing! At least you actually get an answer with this one, eventually... so many others where if you never hear back, it's a no... Annoying!

That’s a very good point. I did think it was strange to be placed on the reserve list when they are still running auditions! I assumed it was because my DD is so young.

agreed @Newgirls. My anxiety levels are drastically reduced now we have accepted the GM place as it's taken several other options off the table and we now only have two possible combos which will be determined by the NYMT musician outcome. So I am much less neurotic now, lol!!

There’s going to be so much movement at this rate. We are waiting to hear from 3 things so if most acting kids are similar it’s going to tricky to decide and then more places will be avail

Is anyone else on the reserve list for BYMT this year?
I'm hearing lots of people on reserve list. wondering if they are buying some time while they do the rest of the auditions??
