Thought I'd start a thread now that the shows have been revealed. Who's got a DC or student applying? I have a feeling in my bones it won't be my DS's year this time - he's nearly 15, voice not broken but not reliable either, and apart from the one show we don't know I can't see anything he could obviously do! But he'll give it best shot and if no luck we'll still watch the shows. Good luck to all!

ZakStarkey · 27/02/2020 13:25

Musician auditionee here - heard nothing yet

folkmamma · 27/02/2020 13:24

Hi @Paddleroundthepier, they still haven't made musician decisions. Still some auditions to do i believe...

Paddleroundthepier · 27/02/2020 13:06

just found this thread - hello everyone!

Any musicians heard yet? (not actor-musicians but 'pit' musicians?)

just wondering when this is likely to be?

Triflefan · 27/02/2020 13:00

@Biscuitsneeded Sorry, I knew that my mind was in a mess!

@minimits
Well done to your DS too! I wonder if they have been in the same groups?
I’m forbidden to tell anyone because understandably, he wants to do it himself so it feels acceptable to share here!

minimits · 27/02/2020 12:48

Triflefan my DS also has KMK and is also 16 about to do GCSE’s! Sure they will encourage each other to revise-haha!!!!! Yay to the yesses! Fourth year lucky!

Biscuitsneeded · 27/02/2020 12:35

Ah no, not for DS - he wasn't recalled for Imaginary or KMK and they seem to be the ones going out now. Going in show date order.

Triflefan · 27/02/2020 12:16

I read that as I’ve had a yes 🤦🏼‍♀️

Triflefan · 27/02/2020 12:15

Brilliant news @biscuitsneed
Congrats to your DS

DS just got a yes for Kiss me Kate so anyone who’s still waiting will hopefully know soon!

I’ll go and relax now! 😆

Biscuitsneeded · 27/02/2020 11:59

I have heard of a yes for Imaginary so fingers crossed this means positive news from now on...

I'll message you manicmumsday!

Hi all, I hope those still waiting for news last night have now been put out of their misery? Very much hope it was good news.

Just wondering if anyone on here has any views on whether the BYMT or NYMT Easter/summer residential courses are better for a relatively young child? (aged 11). I presume the theatrical experience will be fantastic at both so more focused on the pastoral care I guess.

Lonecatwithkitten · 26/02/2020 22:52

Sorry to all those receiving no's, recallls are a huge achievement and all auditions add to the wealth of experience.
We are still in the waiting BYMT have confirmed that despite the additional auditions they will still send emails w/c 9th March. There is then an awful wait to 6/5 for NYT.

Belshels · 26/02/2020 20:11

@manicmumsday Aw bless him, he's done so well regardless, and actually BYMT is only 1 audition so less of a rollercoaster! Great idea to do a summer workshop😊.
Thank you @biscuitsneeded and good luck with the wait!

Biscuitsneeded · 26/02/2020 20:07

So sorry to read about the nos (but a recall is a huge achievement, and so often at this stage it's just about fitting a role). I hope the kids will bounce back. Congratulations to your DD Belshels - that's lovely news for her and I hope she has a great time. The workshop director this year is fabulous and a lovely person too - the kids will have a lot of fun.
No news here. I keep looking in my junk to check I haven't missed something.

manicmumsday · 26/02/2020 18:09

Thanks @Belshels. I’m not sure I can face DS doing a BYMT audition this year as he’s only 11 and he’s got very little drama and singing experience and zero dancing experience. So it was a long shot applying to NYMT in the first place.

I think instead I’ll suggest that he does either a BYMT or NYMT Easter or summer course this year to get some more experience. Then he can decide whether to go through the rollercoaster ride again next year.

Lovely to hear that your DD has been successful this year after prior disappointments. I hope she has fun at the new musical workshop.

Belshels · 26/02/2020 18:07

Ooh yes, fingers and toes crossed for you. We did too🤞🤞

folkmamma · 26/02/2020 18:03

She's done an audition for BYMT so we are keeping all crossed from that now 🤞🏻

Belshels · 26/02/2020 18:01

Sorry to hear @folkmamma and @manicmumsday, worth trying again for sure especially as even the auditions is such a useful experience. Do try for BYMT (they have announced 1 more audition end March), as dd did Paperboy last year and it was an incredible experience. She matured so much in every way. x

folkmamma · 26/02/2020 17:27

Sounds like the good news is starting to come through! Well done mini @Belshels and heartening to hear of success after a previous no. Fingers crossed for lots of good news for those still waiting xx
