I’ve got three students going for it this year. They’re all in Bristol today. Anyone else?

NET - I noticed that the London week is not catered, so I am guessing there will be a fair bit of fending for themselves, and accomm at UCL means tube journeys to and from the venue, BUT he will ALWAYS be in a group with others, so no need to worry. DD would actually be closer to the venue if she stayed at home in that week, but I dont imagine I'd have any luck suggesting that to her. They have the time of their lives. He will be a seasoned Londoner by the end! I AM wondering if there is a single night in the middle (between residential and going to London) where there is no accomm? Sevenoaks ends for us on 5th and UCL starts on the 6th. Please tell me we dont have to have them back for one night!?? Where are they sleeping on the 5th?? Does your acceptance email look the same (but with different dates)?

Seriously, I'm so excited although nervous about the residential stay in London. I presume they will be chaperoned/supervised in the accomodation (I think it is Uni accomodation as obviously it will be summer then so the Students won't be there) I just have visions of my DS wandering around London on his own Confused please hand me a grip

janinlondon · 26/02/2018 10:52

NET - I have been fed a similar line! I suspect I am a muppet for believing her...!

NotEnoughTime · 23/02/2018 15:37

I see!

My DS has got his GCSE's this May so I know how you feel! He has promised me that he will spend the whole of the first week of the Easter holidays studying so I'm hoping that he will keep his word.

janinlondon · 23/02/2018 10:22

No - she has A levels coming up straight afterwards!! I know lots of GCSE and A level kids dont do NYMT because of the Easter commitment. We will just have to juggle (madly!!)

NotEnoughTime · 23/02/2018 09:43

That's great janinlondon

Why don't you like the Easter rehearsals? Are you meant to be going on holiday?

EvilTwins · 23/02/2018 08:32

That’s brilliant news jan! Well done to your DD.

DD has been offered Little Princess and is thrilled. I am very happy for her, but less thrilled about the Easter rehearsals!

K20Mac · 22/02/2018 21:11

DS is lucky this will be 3rd year, think that made the thought of not getting in harder, he knew what he’d be missing. He’s learnt so much each year and grown both as a performer and as a person. Such a wonderful opportunity for them all. X

EvilTwins · 22/02/2018 21:07

Fantastic K20Mac! Obviously I’m not this lad’s mum but I was his drama teacher for 7 years and have gone through the highs and lows with him. I’ve helped him prep for 3 years of NYMT so it’s brilliant that he’s got something. He left school last year but still comes to me for audition prep - which is heavy at the moment!

Hi K20Mac-great news.

Well done to your DS.

#exciting

K20Mac · 22/02/2018 20:28

My DS got Super Hero, he really doubted himself after recalls this year so super chuffed for him. Hard hearing ‘no’s’ though... Congratulations to others. 😊

NotEnoughTime · 22/02/2018 20:28

Thank you Smile

Sleepy Hollow looks fab. We will def go and see that.

EvilTwins · 22/02/2018 20:26

Oh that’s brilliant! My boy was recalled for Beautiful Game too but really wanted Sleepy Hollow so is thrilled!

Hi EvilTwins

How come I've only just found this thread? Confused

We "spoke" on here two years ago as my son went for the NYMT and you had two of your students (IIRC) applying. My son had a recall but then wasn't placed.

This time around he was recalled and we have found out today that he has got a part in "The Beautiful Game." We are all so thrilled. I had been warning him all week that the chance of getting a part was so small (as obviously didn't want to get his hopes up) so we were shocked and amazed today when we read the e mail.

Very well done to your ex student Smile

What an amazing opportunity for them.

Now, I just have to sell the family silver to pay for it.....

EvilTwins · 22/02/2018 18:05

Anyone get anything this year? Literally just seen my (now ex) student and he got into Sleepy Hollow. He was beyond excited!

Glad your daughter had a great time. Results 'normally' go out on the following Tuesday or Wednesday so not long to wait. Good luck. xxxx

Pinkstargazer12 · 29/01/2018 14:15

My daughter auditioned on Saturday. There were A LOT of people there and she said the talent was incredible. It's now a waiting game. How long did you have to wait to get the first result?

janinlondon · 18/01/2018 12:01

Ah....as I suspected, anyone in upper sixth is kind of scuppered by the Easter rehearsals. Back to YMTUK I guess!

janinlondon · 18/01/2018 11:54

How have I not been able to find those before??! Doh!

K20Mac · 18/01/2018 07:56

All the dates are on their website. Rehearsal and performances. Hope this helps. X

janinlondon · 17/01/2018 12:29

Does anyone know the dates of the 2018 productions please? This always seems to be the missing info for candidates and it is so important?!!

K20Mac · 12/01/2018 09:10

Good luck Pinkstargazer12 for the end of the month. They are a wonderful company to be part of. Xxx

Pinkstargazer12 · 12/01/2018 08:45

Well done both Smile

EvilTwins · 11/01/2018 18:51

My ex-student is recalled for Sleepy Hollow & Beautiful Game.
