How much do you pay for music lessons?

My children play a few different instruments between them and the prices vary by instrument. The most expensive is £10 per hour more than the others.

So, if you don't mind sharing, what do you pay and where in the country are you? (I'm in South West Wales)

£20 hour for piano and voice, but she usually charges more. We've just been with her for years, and she hasn't put the price up for us for nearly a decade now. Violin is with another teacher and £30 an hour. We're in Scotland.

I pay £15 for 30 min violin lesson for my dd - best money I've ever spent on music lessons- my dd loves her teacher and is making great progress. Would happily pay more for this teacher.

Ds has guitar lessons via school music service, £45 per term, half hour sessions

£10 for half hour cornet (just graduated music student though)

£12 for half hour piano

I think it's cheap!

South East - £35, £40 and £60 per hour, although all teachers regularly teach over an hour without charging more. The £60 an hour is always at least an hour and a half.

£40 an hour for voice - Hampshire.

£35 an hour, north London. But have paid £55 to a conservatoire teacher. My DS charges £15 for a half an hour and he's a recent music grad.

Piano, £13 for 30 minutes. We're in the NE.
