It was fine. The air felt damp this morning, I think from the condensation from 500 sleeping people, and some Guiders have no control over their Brownies when it comes to bed time, but all in all it was a fab day, and we had a reasonable night's sleep.

MillicentMargaretAmanda · 10/06/2018 18:23

I did M&M at Blackland Farm, day only. The Brownies loved it and all very manageable size wise at BF. How did sleeping in the marquee go @heratnumber7 ? It was so sweltering in ours during the day that I didn't envy anyone staying over!

Heratnumber7 · 10/06/2018 13:58

Just back from Magic and Mayhem at Foxlease.
Was fab. Can highly recommend.

BringOnTheScience · 10/06/2018 13:20

Excellent news Inflagrante. Glad it all turned out well.

We took the pack to London for the Trooping. 'Exhausted' does not come close to describing it, but they had lots of fun.

InflagranteDelicto · 09/06/2018 20:57

We got one, with the caveat of no zip wires!

Today was great. Turned out we were headed for a local NT place.

BringOnTheScience · 07/06/2018 23:51

Inflagrante Sometimes you have to get to the point of cancelling before someoe steps up. Fingers crossed that someone does for you.

InflagranteDelicto · 05/06/2018 08:12

Fantastic.

A year has passed, and it's the campfire skills night again tonight. I feel very unprepared. Changing it around so my senior sixes will be cooking for the rest.

District trip Saturday. My second adult has to work, she doesn't get much warning with her rotas. Trying to get a parent helper - will it's like getting blood from a stone!

Groovee · 01/06/2018 05:37

Thanks ladies. The certificate was dated 6 months ago. We only just managed to locate it.

She's now an adult leader 😍

Well done! That's a fantastic achievement! My Dds are younger, but I hope one day they achieve CG.

BringOnTheScience · 31/05/2018 08:24

Well done Groovee's DD! CG is a huge achievement!!!
Mine is taking a break from TSS as it was too much alongside the IB, but she's still my YL.

Groovee · 30/05/2018 21:40

Ah emotional night. Dd got her chief guide award. Then she renewed her promise with the new brownies. 😭

I have several of those. Pains, the lot of them.

BringOnTheScience · 21/05/2018 22:59

Thanks! Just needed a brief vent.

Deadline for deposit & forms for summer overnight was 2 weeks ago. Parent who only just realised today, somehow makes this my fault because they ignored all the emails and reminders. Apparently I'm supposed to be psychic.

There was wine tonight!

Becles · 21/05/2018 21:15

Grumpy ungrateful parents. AngryAngryAngrySadSadSadSad

That is all.

County comp hikes today... Anyone on here also doing them? Got two teams this year, one competitive, one containing a girl for whom they'll be an enormous physical challenge and some steadier girls to support. Really excited! Stressful getting my Guide ready, she's at the dippy age and they were clueless about team kit!

Groovee · 09/05/2018 06:01

I did it with Brownies. I found it very straightforward. Delegated something's like who was taking photos... who would look after the paper for this section... who was listening for additional comments.

What sections did you do Future Girl with? We have it pencilled in for the first week after half term with the Rainbows and Brownies - AND OTHER LEADERS ARE...TAKING. THE. LEAD!!

Big big thing for us, usually I end up fronting everything and being 'assisted' but I gave them no choice - I can't do it all & could do with the couple of hours at admin & a cupboard inventory before the summer holidays.

InflagranteDelicto · 08/05/2018 20:43

Future girl was interesting, initially the girls found it boring but they loved the sketch bit.

Had a mini Olympics night. Some worked, some didn't. I remembered why I dislike game nights like this! Was hilarious watching a tall leader and a tiny Brownie doing a ballroom style race where a balloon had to stay held between them!

Groovee · 05/05/2018 20:03

Did the future girl resource this week. I liked how it was all laid out and the girls enjoyed it.

I'm back to ask for more help, please, with filling in this "witness testimony" for a funding application. I could have sworn I already did it but the lady who has organised it for me came with this on Tuesday, so clearly not Confused

She's asked dd1 to fill in exactly the same thing too but from a member point of view.

Hopefully the attached pic is readable

My laptop won't give me the option to open with Adobe Confused Even though it says it's on there.

I'll try once more this morning then handwrite and photocopy cos otherwise the laptop's going out the window

Becles · 26/04/2018 07:14

@Lucysmam Have you saved the consent form to your drive, closed it and then reopened in Adobe before trying to fill it in?

lucysmam · 24/04/2018 22:31

I have a version of it on my memory stick from a year or so ago that would let me edit it on my old laptop, I'll check whether they're the same and see if that will let me edit it...otherwise I'll get my best handwriting out then photocopy.
