NCO 2017 Auditions

Starting the annual thread for those who have dc auditioning this year, as audition round starts shortly. DD auditions later in october.

She'd only been playing xylophone for 4/5weeks at the audition and didn't play any timpani, so it was expected. She enjoyed the audition though so all good.

Well done to Goo, Bop's DS and DD, and also to Paul's violinist.
Hard luck to Paul's percussionist, but hang in there, and fingers crossed for next year.

Letters arrived.
7yr old percussionist didn't get in, but good feedback.
9yr old violinist got in.
7yr old will re-audition next yr. Smile

We just got our letters - DD got into Under 12s (cello) and DS got into Under 10s (violin) - can't wait to tell them both after school!!!

well Waffle you win the bet - DH spoke to the office, and letters now going into envelopes and will be arriving over the next two weeks...so it seems we can all stand down :)

Hi Bass - yes not sure why i wrote that! i guess i was thinking of those in the Winter Concert (i.e. the current under 13s) - sorry to confuse! i think i am waiting for so many different envelopes right now, my head is going round a little :)

We didn't get the letter last year until 11th December, so I was thinking we had another week at least. stringchild why do you think Mains and Under 13s won't get their results for a while? Mains I understand as they will be the under 13s in this year's winter concert, but results for next years under 13s were this years under 12s, so all done for them. I'm curious as DS has auditioned for U13 for next year, having been in U12s this year. Maybe I can relax for a bit longer! Smile

DS seems to be keeping it in perspective I've told him he can go on a brass course at Easter if he doesn't get it so hopefully if he doesn't make it this time he won't be too disappointed good luck to everyone waiting Smile
