Hi, have just joined here so hope I am posting in the correct place. Just wondering if anyone here has a child auditioning for NYMT or similar groups this year.
My DD (age 11 ) is auditioning next sunday

Fingers crossed for YMT-think I will send DS on the residential course if not-he really hasn't done much training beyond stagecoach and his local dance lessons and it looks like it would be very worth while! Onwards and upwards! Looking optimistic if u haven't heard yet...

Dancingdaughters · 22/02/2017 22:06

Oh sorry to hear that minimits. Yes do update us on the YMT result. My DD did that one too.

Biscuitsneeded · 22/02/2017 22:01

Have just remembered there's also A Little Princess.

Biscuitsneeded · 22/02/2017 22:01

Sorry to hear that minimits. Best of luck to your DS for the YMT results. Will you come back and update?

minimits · 22/02/2017 21:53

Unsurprisingly a no for us-proud he got a recall but not looking forward to telling him tomorrow. There'll be big tears. Always so close but never seems to quite make it! Good luck to the rest of you! Now for the YMT results wait!

Biscuitsneeded · 22/02/2017 21:50

Definitely can't go to bed!!

Pinkstargazer12 · 22/02/2017 21:48

Nothing here. Could be a long night!

aplo · 22/02/2017 21:44

Some friends of DS have had yeses for Honk. Nothing here still..

Dancingdaughters · 22/02/2017 21:32

Anyone else heard anything?

Dancingdaughters · 22/02/2017 21:24

Oh gosh. Poor thing. Cant imagine my dd doing all this on her own x

EvilTwins · 22/02/2017 21:19

Yep... one of them lost his mum very suddenly just before Christmas too so that makes it doubly hard.

It's part of the job I guess. I had three going through it last year. Five this year. I've taught them since they were 11 - it's impossible not to get tied up in it - so many hopes and dreams!

Dancingdaughters · 22/02/2017 21:09

Gosh it must be like having 5 kids of your own going through it!

EvilTwins · 22/02/2017 21:02
Smile He's a good lad. He deals well with rejection - very philosophical. I always tell my students that if you feel you did the best you could and that you were as well prepared as possible, then often there are things beyond your control making the decisions. In this case, not fitting a role. It's hard for them though. I've got 5 yr 13 students going through it at the moment. Really tough.
aplo · 22/02/2017 20:41

Central and Lipa mean he must be brilliant!! Best of luck to him with them!

OP posts:
EvilTwins · 22/02/2017 20:35

It's weird though - he got a second round audition for Musical Theatre at Central and is waiting on a date for a final round audition for LIPA so he's obviously pretty good!

EvilTwins · 22/02/2017 20:34

He says he's ok. The fact that none of his friends from the gala got in at all is helping, oddly enough.

Biscuitsneeded · 22/02/2017 20:22

Sorry EvilTwins. You sound like such a dedicated and kind teacher. I hope your student will not be too disappointed.

aplo · 22/02/2017 20:18

Sorry to hear that Evil.

Most of what I'm hearing is from my student who is chatting online with her gala friends.
One of my former students didn't get it either.
