How many do you have Groovee?

Some of mine want to do it, but I cant see all 32 listening to each other

Groovee · 27/01/2016 21:17

Speakers badge went great. All girls were there. It really was a great night.

We're doing Chinese New Year next week.

I dont give badge books, but do email links to the mums and write in in the welcome to brownies card I give to new girls

Groovee · 27/01/2016 14:56

Think I said something about subs were increasing as we were finding out running costs were getting higher and that we put 1/3rd of their subs to their census. So it was fine.

My leaders are dropping like flies today. I used to not work on a Wednesday so finding things a bit tough. It's only a term of Wednesday's.

I don't give badge books but encourage them to be bought and give them the link to badges on line!

I'm trying to introduce at least half termly paying of subs too! Four have managed it - the others, I'm not sure if it's just because weekly is easier (it is for me too) or if they're going to try and avoid paying any missed weeks.

Although all 10 have turned up since parents were told they'd have to pay for missed sessions. Usually someone's missed at least one by now.

Groovee, how did you word your email? Literally just that subs were increasing?

InFlagranteDelicto · 27/01/2016 06:36

Ours pay termly. Not come across needing to raise it yet! We do have the new starters pay an extra £10 in their first terms subs to cover the pack we give when they do their promise.

Becles · 27/01/2016 06:33

We pay termly and are up to about 80% paying straight into the bank account. It's great although there was a lot of resistance by one if the team because 'it isn't allowed' or would be too complicated for parents. Two terms in most money paid by third week and I don't have to faff around looking for a bank without a queue at lunchtime.

Off topic does anyone give badge books yo Brownies?

Groovee · 27/01/2016 05:42

Our lot pay termly and I just sent an email saying that they would £5 more a term.

Teddy Bears went well! One girl even said it was the best night ever Grin

Need to re think blutack the bow tie on the bear though if we do it again - a fair few got it spot on.

We did have one mishap unfortunately, one of the girls was farting about next to the tables we used for crafts & as she leant on it the table moved...one bumped head and tears Sad

I'm thinking about increasing our unit subs from £1.50 to £2 in line with Brownies from the summer term. Even with very limited spending & a conscious effort to use what we have, I'm not sure there's enough to pay census in the bank & our LiC sort of dithered a bit when I asked her straight. Would be helpful if she'd actually settle on a date to put me on the bank account so I can see what sort of position we are in rather than an educated ish guess

Anywho - has anyone here raised subs? How did you word it to parents?

InFlagranteDelicto · 26/01/2016 21:05

I'm starting to get the hang of this now. Third meeting in, it's going ok. Tonight we did the fruit tasting planned by the sixers and seconds (part of the brownie gfi) they've never been given much responsibility before, so its been great to watch, even over three meetings. It's gone well, we've started filling in the adventure books- first time ever for all of them! I even have my oldest three on the old style book.
Next week is only half planned, my partner in crime and I will do it over the weekSmile

Bit scared reading about the brownie camp- we want to do a sleepover at some point. Eek!

AlbusPercival · 25/01/2016 09:19

been up all night ill, at work all day, then taking the brownies out for a night hike tonight, this could be fun!

Becles · 25/01/2016 08:48

Second night was great they didn't really rest during quiet time do I told them to keep it to a dull roar.

Last one asleep by 9.30 and not a peep til 7. Result

lucysmam · 24/01/2016 21:13

Really?

drspouse · 24/01/2016 20:48

Rainbows are great, they ask to go to bed!

lucysmam · 24/01/2016 19:54

Yikes! I was considering doing my Going Away license for a Rainbow sleepover but not sure now...

rivierliedje · 24/01/2016 19:12

Oh dear becles are brownies really that bad at sleeping?! I've only done Guides at camp so far, but next weekend we're having a district holiday with all levels, so will see what that's like.

drspouse · 24/01/2016 11:43

On the second night? Ouch. Normally they have got so tired by then they just go to sleep!

Becles · 24/01/2016 00:12

Groovee · 23/01/2016 17:21

Becles · 23/01/2016 00:00

I'm on pack holiday and SIX of them are still awake even though I'm lurking in the middle of the room mumsnetting

Go to sleep cherubs, I've had a shitty week and need some wine. How to break it to this.relatively new team that my horrendous snoring gets worse when I'm knackered?

Groovee · 22/01/2016 16:48

Groovee · 21/01/2016 17:25

Go into go

Then role management, click on the unit link and scroll down the page and there is a bit to add them with their name/number/DOB

You should be able to just put her number in and find her.
