I tried boxes - they're a jumbley mess and irritate the heck outa me or yes, stackable boxes would make sense.

I suppose even something like cutlery trays but with bigger sections would do so they did stack. So long as they're tidy Blush

I even folded the fabric scraps yesterday so they fit neatly in their new box Grin

Groovee · 21/07/2016 13:15

We use boxes from idea for the pens pencils stuff. Each six gets their own set. They stack nicely in the cupboard too.

Yes, they'll be separate. It'd confuse me if they were both being paid into the same account.

The 1p is probably in the bottom of my handbag organiser somewhere; I put my receipts in there the other day when I went storage shopping. I don't think I've done bad since Easter tbh, there's plenty of cash towards census and we're doing all sorts of activities with the girls.

drspouse · 21/07/2016 11:35

Just leave the 1p. Nobody will care.

We have an account for R/B/G but our previous DC told us not to but I ignored her. I think really you are supposed to have separate accounts though.

lucysmam · 21/07/2016 11:05

Just balanced the accounts, I'm 1p short Confused

Started sorting the cupboard into proper plastic storage yesterday. Brought home so much recycling and rubbish it's unreal!

I want some cutlery caddy things to sort the pens/pencils etc into for on our tables so hunting for those as cheaply as possible tomorrow.

Need to set up an account for the Guides although have had only one enquiry so far & she can't make the first week as it's her birthday!

drspouse · 20/07/2016 16:09

I think once we have replied the Commissioner will take over - they've more or less said as much.
No way is she coming back, sorry! But we doubted she was going to anyway.

bombayflambe · 20/07/2016 15:22

If it's really getting to you then it's time to hand it off to District Comm. Arrange a meeting or telecon where you can verbally respond and she can make notes and deal with it. Also let her offer the girl(s) space elsewhere if the relationship has broken down. It does sound as if you would all be happier if this particular parent did not return to your unit.
The DC doesn't have the same emotional investment that you all do so will be able to handle it dispassionately.

drspouse · 20/07/2016 14:19

Still mulling over this. Sleeping quite badly...

drspouse · 19/07/2016 14:42

Yes they are river. Not silly to ask!

Yes it is all very playground. Sadly it's putting off one of our newer leaders and even one more experienced one from continuing.

rivierliedje · 19/07/2016 13:21

That sounds quite a complicated situation drspouse.

Does anyone know if badges are still given for camp licenses (for leaders) and LQ? I've done mine and received certificates and was quite looking forward to badges. I feel a bit silly asking for a badge that may not exist though.

Groovee · 19/07/2016 11:01

Goodness me some parents never seem to leave the playground!

Hmmm we are composing our replies to this complaint. I'm wondering how I can get in the phrase "perhaps Guiding is not right for this girl at this time" or ever.
The sad part is there's another girl involved (some parts the original girl knows nothing about and it's easy to guess who else has been contributing) but the other girl is a lovely Guide, very committed, but her mum is BFF with the original mum.

drspouse · 18/07/2016 22:23

Oh and this complaint is mainly "leader told my child to do something so I shouted at her and she [i.e. me] laughed. It was a bit ridiculous having a grown woman tell me "don't you ever...". I'm not 5!

drspouse · 18/07/2016 22:21

We had a Soak the Leader once which the girls loved, it was warm and I'd taken a spare top so I quite liked it too!

AlbusPercival · 18/07/2016 20:42

We went with it. It was fun, it was mostly me getting wet from balloons thrown by girls.

Groovee · 18/07/2016 20:10

Grr when parents decide to make a complaint without finding out the other side of the story.

Good luck to all those finishing.

I bumped into one of my brownies at Flamingo Land last week. All I heard was "Snowy Owl"

If you have a facebook group or similar for parents maybe make a post suggesting anyone driving brings a towel when they come to collect?

RueDeWakening · 18/07/2016 17:32

As long as the kids are ok with balloons, yes - have fun!

AlbusPercival · 18/07/2016 17:19

Quick reply needed

We're in the south east and its approx 30 degrees.

Having a bbq tonight and I happen to have water balloons. Would it be ok to use them?

If it helps I will no longer be a leader after the meeting but don't want to upset any of the kids

drspouse · 18/07/2016 14:31

Well none of us would be unhappy if this girl left (which seems likely).

I'm more annoyed than upset but some of the other adults (LiT who is very immersed in the community as she's a parent at the school most go to, and former LiT who had to leave due to work commitments, is a parent ditto and really really kindly came back to go to camp with us despite not really being a camper!) are very upset about this and quite rightly so.

My local Commissioner is a star and wrote immediately to say in effect "I'm sure you have done absolutely nothing wrong and let me know whether you want to meet up to discuss, this kind of thing happens and I know you do a good job".

Becles · 18/07/2016 14:20

Yeah! A complaint... I alternatively think bring it on and bugger this for a game of soldiers.

drspouse · 18/07/2016 12:24

My 4 year old also thinks he's going to be a Rainbow. Not helped by the fact that he went on an activity with them as I was going, and everyone kept saying "OK, Rainbows and DSname, you're doing this now".

Camp this weekend. Lovely time, Guides had a great time though complained when they abandoned their cooking fire and we didn't cook their lunch for them so it took 4 hours. All happy, lots of parents thanked us, one gave us wine and one flowers, and one put in a complaint to County. Mainly based on the fact that their daughter didn't want to do any chores and is a lying little madam.

bombayflambe · 18/07/2016 09:43

Term is over. We had a barbecue on Thursday and the Brownies did their hostess badge with parent guests. Then camp this weekend. I am shattered!

AlbusPercival · 18/07/2016 08:51

Last brownies tonight, feeling a bit emotional at leaving all my gang

Becles · 18/07/2016 08:35

That's so sweet! Remind him of all the fun beavers stuff he's got to look forward to and that he gets to do some rainbows stuff with you. Best of both worlds (although not sure if this logic works for a 3 year old!😆)
