In an effort to be consistent without being overwhelmed we’re doing Flow for March. All practices less than 30 mins, modify freely, make it your own. The series is available on Youtube along with a calendar to download.

Day 14-Welcome, strangely enjoyable even though it didn’t seem like it would be for me. Just goes to show, give different practices a go, sometimes they’re good. I was very present with this one. My range of movement in my neck is still limited so looking up is more eyes up but I’m grateful the pain is considerably reduced. Good old naproxen
This evening I did Day 15- Balance. Started with alternate nostril breathing. Balance is my nemesis generally but the raising onto the toes was managed comfortably. Half moon used to be one of my favourite poses pre back/ sciatica. That side is still significantly weaker with less range now so I didn’t feel as light & open on that side. It’s good to challenge, I won’t get evenness back without putting the work in. There was also an interesting little flow, extended child’s pose with toes under, flowing forward onto hands and knees, repeat several times. A relatively easy movement for me but a feel good one. Some moreDD to high lunge to W2 to reverse W to side angle as well. A squat in there as well.

I’m going to struggle with that @Pinkfluffypencilcase I like my yoga more active ☺️

Day 14 welcome
Starts with six minutes of laying on your back and breathing, so I liked it

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 15/03/2026 17:34

Wow yoga chick! You recovered fast!
Take it easy though

Agree there was no ease in day 13

Yogachick · 15/03/2026 17:18

Day 13- Ease. There was no ease for me apart from the yummy hip circles. It felt like a Day 6 for sure! Boat is a very dodgy one for me re back and extended leg drops the same. I did my version of both. On catch up mode now!

@Pinkfluffypencilcase sorry I missed your comment,it’s not the forward fold it’s the hands under the feet which is gorilla. Get a good bend in your knees and have your feet comfortably wide to access it without pain a juicy tummy. It’s bliss on the hands and wrists when you wiggle your toes 🤩

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 14/03/2026 14:54

Yay good to hear that. Obviously you’re recovery is the most important. Thanks for the encouragement too.

I did day 13 ease today as missed it yesterday. Nice and short at 18 minutes. My abs can really feel that one.

Yogachick · 14/03/2026 14:14

I plan to be back, there might be a teeny bit less pain today, or it might be because I’m not moving my head🙄keep going. I’ll catch up😁

Oh no !! Hope you’re ok @Yogachick
Hopefully you can join us again

And I’m v grateful you started this thread x

Yogachick · 13/03/2026 20:42

I have to bow out for now. I’ve been ceiling painting,my neck has locked and is agony, can’t move it without pain. Flow on my friends!

I had to google gorilla wondering what I’d missed
Never knew forward fold was gorilla pose. I think my tummy gets in the way.

Yogachick · 12/03/2026 19:17

Day 12- Stability. Love gorilla, feels delicious.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 12/03/2026 13:26

This is getting better.
day 12 just 20 mins yay
and I didn’t have to drag my leg as much
I mean I still
had to drag it but it felt easier

i I can’t do forward fold it makes my breathing funny.

But I feel stronger.

Yogachick · 11/03/2026 21:08

Day 11- Soul. Thanks for your encouragement @Pinkfluffypencilcase , you got me to the mat today, appreciating why I WANT to be here. Nice stretchy one today, I find if I raise my hips I access much better opening and get more from those postures. Short but valuable.23 days🌻

Almost half way through though!

I think I’ll do day 11 today to keep up and add day 10 after or when we finish.

im determined to keep going as this is usually the point I go forget it!

however I can feel the benefits already to my mood, energy levels and I think a bit more flexibility. Well worth it!

My mum can touch her toes I lost that ability through stiffness a couple years back. I’m getting nearer though!

Yogachick · 10/03/2026 17:54

Day 10 - Align. Her cues for Warrior 1 don’t work for my body and when she says feel the earth under your feet( not a quote but similar) I can’t feel it on one side as most of my foot is numb since back/ sciatica trauma last year. I do try though. I had to force myself to the mat, though of course I feel better for practicing. I’m just getting a bit bored

Well done yoga chick!
incremental improvements is good. They all add up.

I had a very busy day at work today so I’ve sadly not had chance for yoga. And it sounds very energetic!

Yogachick · 09/03/2026 09:12

Flow Day 9- Release. Lots of locusts. Balancing, 1 legged tadasana to warrior 3,I have a significant difference on my dodgy side but used the windowsill to assist. I got my heels a bit closer to the floor in the squat & I’m bringing my leg forward into lunge a little more smoothly. We have to appreciate our progress @Pinkfluffypencilcase ! My abs are still a little tender though, merely a sign I need to do more core work🌻

OP posts:
Pinkfluffypencilcase · 09/03/2026 00:22

So you should be!

My abs ache today after day 6/7 yesterday.
I felt the ache and thought oh no what’s that and remembered and it made me happy!
day 8 relax phew!

I swear I’m feeling more flexible

Yogachick · 08/03/2026 21:18

Day 8- Relax, at last! Though my mind does go a wandering when the practice is this slow, the stretch is delicious and needed. Past the one week mark 🥳for Flow and Day 20 for my streak! Most impressed with myself😆

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 07/03/2026 21:58

And I did part of day 7. Never done that before !

I’ve never completed 30 days in 30 before either.

Thank you @Yogachick yes it helps otherwise I sometimes think I’ll give up!

Yogachick · 07/03/2026 19:26

I did an upper body & core workout from YouTube yesterday for balance.Pummelled my abs again but did my back a world of good,I could feel the difference this morning.
Day 7-Sync. I thought this would be more restful after Day 6 but there was a little abs hit in there that I really didn’t need. I enjoyed the breath vinyasa at the end, lovely and calming, one she’s done on several practices. Because it’s just your arms moving I find I can really focus on breath to movement, clearing the monkey brain nicely..
I always think having the courage to modify your practice to be kind to your own body is a huge strength @Pinkfluffypencilcase ,something I very much lacked in my early years of practice,I’m sure forcing myself into poses contributed to my prolapsed disc.
The joy of just pressing play is one of the many reasons we love the 30 days @Sweetbeansandmochi . It doesn’t mean it has to be completed in 30 days. I also know I won’t do Day 30 which is always unguided. I need the guidance!

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 07/03/2026 15:11

I missed day 6 yesterday as long day at work and decided I’d do it today as didn’t want to miss a core day.

I couldn’t get my legs up vertical to scissor so had to adapt big for that.

Sweetbeansandmochi · 06/03/2026 18:35

Hello! So I did day 5 today but if I had thought about it I would have done day six and just skipped it from yesterday. I didn’t think and just pressed play on the one that came up. I hope you were able to find some extra core exervises…I remember when I didn’t even know what a hip flexor was, I miss those days!! x

Yogachick · 06/03/2026 06:49

Life is busy @Sweetbeansandmochi yoga is here to dip in when we can x
Day 6- Center. We all know about Day 6, though this wasn’t too hideous. I did all the first part but my leg scissors were a suggestion as I have a prolapsed disc. I have frustration with Adriene that core only ever means the front of body, it’s your whole centre and the back needs work as well for balance. I’ll have a dabble on Apple Fitness later to get some back strength work in.
I’ll be feeling this one not only in my abs but in my hip flexors, which turn on to help my feeble abs out. Be brave my friends ,this is Day 6 🌻
