Three hours at the allotment. I had multiple near black outs and had to sit down. My back is now very unhappy. But I did a huge amount of work.

Blimey @FurForksSake that is a LOT. I would wamt to stay in bed - but staying mobile and building muscle has got to help surely ?
I did 15 m yoga for lower back and rushed around on bike because I was late!

Any exciting exercise plans for the weekend?

Family four mile walk tomorrow afternoon, a circular with some elevation. My dh and ds1 are 13 weeks out from snowdon and so we are walking at weekends. I’ll use my poles and pace myself.

Sunday will be a lot of time at the allotment getting planted and ready for the season.

Monday we are going to watch jousting and that will get steps in. Sunday and Monday o might try and get my core work in. Tuesday I have physio so I like to have a little push before hand and then he’ll snap my back and tell me what I’m doing

I’m going for a social run tomorrow morning with a new group, will do my usual yoga and a dumbbell workout at home. Long walk on Sunday plus either yoga or Pilates at home (maybe both). Shesensu class on Monday plus a run and some more walking.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 01/05/2026 23:29

Not a lot today - was at work and then out socialising this evening (lots of good food and wine)!

Morning yoga - 10 mins
6.5k walk to work
3.5k walk part way home

23,700 steps altogether (on my feet all day at work, short walk at lunch time and then walking to and from friends house this evening).

It is hard, I’d love to be out of pain. The pain in my hip is better since surgery. But my back is knackered. I’m going to speak to my physio on Tuesday about going for some sort of injections.

hydrotherapy tonight. 45 minutes of working out in the pool.

@stilldumdedumming I was on long term sick from June until February and had a hip reconstruction. In that time I also got diagnosed with fibromyalgia and hypermobility spectrum disorder (because my rheumatologist doesn’t like to give people the diagnosis of Ehlers danlos syndrome although I fit the entire criteria). I also have degenerative disc disease and arthritis is my spine and arthritis and a probable tear in my left hip.

Going back to work means sitting in chairs, driving more and carrying a heavier bag than I’d like.

Intake a lot of painkillers and I’m trying to keep exercise and movement up throughout in the hope eventually it will help.

I’m sorry @FurForksSake that sounds rough, you poor thing 😞. I hope things improve as much as possible for you Flowers

MummyInTheNecropolis · 30/04/2026 20:51

Although it says error - it appears to work if I click on it.

stilldumdedumming · 30/04/2026 06:35

@FurForksSakeis the pain an expected thing? I hope it’s passing in any case.

I am posting this because we are movement people. It’s about 4 minutes long. This is what we were doing in yoga this week. Making ourselves into living tensegrity models.

@MummyInTheNecropolis - impressive steps!

boxing class was a little too dancy and not punchy enough - but it got me out the house!

So I have
Monday 40x 25m swim and evening boxing
Tuesday 64 x 25m swim, a hard core class and 90 minutes yoga
and today 70x25m swim.

The swimming is going well!
