50 squats - and struggled. It's a cheat, but I'm counting it to keep me on target.
119/300

WearyAuldWumman · 03/07/2026 14:48

Wed was 106

Running Club: 4X5 minute runs, including a grassy slope.

Senior Flex - much the same as usual with a few sly hammer curls added on my part when we were running on the spot, 45 minutes. 107

Alittlefrustrated · 03/07/2026 14:24

Disaster struck - I've had the summer bug from hell. 2 weeks along and now have horrible sinusitis. I've realised I now have to exercise every day to reach my 300 target 😥 Typing this in the hope it inspires me to do at least a little bit of something today or I'm f**d🤞
Good to see you are all powering on.

Comtesse · 03/07/2026 00:42

18m yoga and stretching, 5m arm exercises.

Tuesday:

45 minutes Musical Theatre Fitness followed by 30 minute Stretch class, but didn't push myself - barely moved in MTF: think I set back my hamstring injury in the gym last week, since I hurt myself on the abduction machine, eejt that I am. Shall be giving that machine a miss for while.

On the plus side, I'm not nearly as bad as I was in the beginning. 105

I've noticed that I'm coming in at the sides, though I look like I have a miniature beer belly at the front. Still over 14 stones and a size 18/20. My belly is definitely the largest part of me, but I still have visible fat most other places.

Arms look pretty good (for an old bird) when they're pumped up - could see them when we did arm exercises at MTF. I appear to have shoulders again.

Comtesse · 01/07/2026 00:10

13 min tai chi then 10 min yoga / stretching.

WearyAuldWumman · 29/06/2026 17:54

There were no lapwings at the track today - just a crow and a swallow.

Had lunch after Running Club and then did my arm homework in the gym with 7.5 kg dumbbells. I've forgotten what the exercise is called - looks like a biceps curl, but done at speed with the arms pumping as if you're running. 3X10. Then did 3 sets of 7 biceps curls. For all of those, interspersed with angel wings stretches.

45 minutes Pilates class.

Heading out to do a teeny bit of gardening. 104

WearyAuldWumman · 29/06/2026 15:17

Thought I’d blown it after Friday running was cancelled. Started to use the treadmill, but felt too unsafe.

Forced myself to come to the leisure centre to use the track and I’m glad I did: did it - two 3 min runs, 2 5 min with walking in between .

Round the track 5 times - middle lane, cos two young lads were training.

Have got a cancellation for Pilates at 4.

21m yin yoga last night. We continue…..

MummyInTheNecropolis · 27/06/2026 20:08

Didn’t do anything except walking yesterday, was too hot and bothered and exhausted. Today was better:

4k run
Loads of walking
Yoga (20 mins)

22,400 steps

Comtesse · 27/06/2026 00:21

Completely boiling again today. 19m yoga then 3m stretching before bed. Too hot for anything more strenuous! Did 16k yesterday and almost melted away…..

WearyAuldWumman · 26/06/2026 17:53

Yesterday, I tried just walking in Riverside Park where our Park Run is going to be, just to get a sense of the slopes. As is usual for me, downhill was more challenging than uphill. Shall just have to take my time. I'd like to be able to run the 5k, but I don't think that's realistic for me - it's probably going to be run-walk-run all the way.

Run Club was cancelled today because of the weather - a thunderstorm. I only read the notification that the club was cancelled just as I was heading out the door. In order to cope with the weather, I'd decided to be brave and wear my 6 inch shorts with my knee braces, my thinking being that they'd be more comfortable in the rain than leggings and easier to change out of for Senior Flex.

In my head, I was Lara Croft. In reality, I was more of an elderly Pansy Potter...

I did try to do the workout on a treadmill, but only managed two three minute runs: I just felt a bit unsafe compared to being on a hard surface. Managed some of the running with the requisite arm movements, but had to keep hanging onto the sides. I know it's psychological.

I used to have a lot of falls when I was a kid ( no orthotics, you see, and the built-up shoes made me go over on my ankles).

I'm actually more stable than I've been my life. Just need to think more positively.

Did do my dynamic stretches beforehand and my arm position exercises with 6 kg weights.

Had the usual 45 minute Senior Flex class using 3.7kg weights. Moved up to 7.5 kg weights for the low row.

Forgot to put down my count last time, so that was 102. Today: 103.

Kayaking yesterday, so lovely to be on the lake, with a breeze. Dog loved it too!
Also, an evening run/walk and 10 min upper body. Managed my new step target of 11,000k- increasing gradually.

Your running has increased rapidly @WearyAuldWumman - fab!

Early park walk with dog this morning.
Planning c25k run later in ac gym.
Enjoy the day everyone!

Comtesse · 25/06/2026 12:27

Crumbs that’s a lot @WearyAuldWumman given the heat as well!

I’m in the red zone and it makes such a difference. I could really feel the impact on my usual cycle to work today. Take it easy people…..

WearyAuldWumman · 24/06/2026 22:54

Run Club: the running sections were 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 3 minutes, 5 minutes.

Gym: 3X20 shrugs with 18kg weights; 59 seconds, Farmer's carry.

Senior Flex,45 minutes - usual mix of stretches, squats, star jumps upper body weight exercises.

Active for Life: Sparc warm-up and cool-down; 6kg side raises; adductor and abductor, but lighter weights after the pulled hamstring.

stilldumdedumming · 24/06/2026 21:49

Yes it’s really cooled off now. But there’s a mugginess hanging around all ready to get hotter tonight

stilldumdedumming · 24/06/2026 21:48

Buntyforgirls · 24/06/2026 21:46

I managed a 1hour mix workout of strength and pilates/ yoga yesterday.

Today was a busy work day, but managed 10k steps and 45min yin yoga.

Think I'm going to set my daily steps on my tracker to a target of 11,000 and keep increasing.
Beautifully cool in the garden, now...

MummyInTheNecropolis · 23/06/2026 19:57

Way too hot to move much today! Did my usual 6k walk to work before it was too hot but spent the evening flopped in front of a fan.

14,000 steps
