Few other shorter walks

16,000 steps

@WearyAuldWumman I am here for your 25 minute run! But you can have as many goes as you need. I really rate c25k for getting me running before the legs gave out.

I have accepted I need to lose weight. It’s getting more difficult because I still have around 4 stone to lose. I am contemplating the dreaded my fitness pal 😔 I cook from scratch so logging is a bit of a pain.

stilldumdedumming · 12/07/2026 10:03

60 x25m glorious swim (a little more breaststroke in the mix which is great for my wonky legs). Plus and easy 3 mile walk.
Friday was lower body quads and calves.
Yesterday was 6 miles walk. My body did not do so well yesterday.

I will have to do some kind of yoga tonight I think.

Forgot to post yesterday. Just a bit of walking today.

Yesterday -

Running Club: 5 minute run, 8 minute run, 8 minutes, 5 minutes - with 3 minute walks in between - all on different surfaces (track, grass, gravel, brush).

Senior Flex: cardio, stretches as per usual. A lot of upper body work with 3.7 weights, including seated star jumps. 111

Sore glutes today...

Next Running Club homework will have to be Monday - 25 minutes continuous running. Not sure how I'll manage at Park Run next Saturday.

Comtesse · 11/07/2026 20:37

7 mins arm exercises, 16 mins 1980s dance cardio then 4 mins stretching.

Yesterday 21 mins bedtime yoga, not very energetic but it all counts!

WearyAuldWumman · 09/07/2026 18:45

60 x 25m swim
and 4 miles walk in the heat of London.
I count walking in a way because it is so hard for me. But I am really pleased that my body coped so well in the heat. I felt hot but completely fine most of the time. I do put this down to consistent exercise.

Have also lost about 9lbs. I have plenty to lose but it is staying off and I am happy.

stilldumdedumming · 07/07/2026 22:21

Tuesday triple.
core class, hard Pilates, and yoga

MummyInTheNecropolis · 07/07/2026 20:44

5k walk
2k run (the most I could manage in this heat)!
Shesensu class (45 mins)
Walked to class and back (30 mins each way)

23,500 steps

WearyAuldWumman · 07/07/2026 18:03

45 minutes Musical Theatre Fitness, followed by 30 minutes. Stretch with the same instructor.

Can't quite manage everything in Stretch - as soon as I have to move to and from a Downward Dog, everything falls apart. However, after the class the instructor congratulated me on doing Jumping Jacks i the MTF class: I couldn't when I started. 109

@WearyAuldWumman from my many times of couch to 5k (and I completely love it) - this week it usually reverts from continuous run to intervals of run walk. It is to protect you from injury but it totally used to mess with my head - and it actually feels harder than the 20 min run. You are doing brilliantly!!

Oh, thanks - I did wonder what would be coming up - and thanks for the explanation. :)

I have been a bit down in the dumps. Kids are ageing me. And I have had about enough. They are adults btw.
But I am still going with more or less my usual routine- plus some quickie overnight camps.

Comtesse · 06/07/2026 09:19

Woo hoo @WearyAuldWumman sounds like a big leap forward on the running!!

Yesterday - 7 min arm exercises, 23 min cardio then 10 min bed time yoga.

WearyAuldWumman · 06/07/2026 01:50

Did my running homework. We were told to run for 20 continuous minutes.

Took 22 minutes to walk the mile to the local park and the park run start point. Had a minor glitch with a couple of teenage boys being wee arseholes, but ran (slowly, I admit) for just over 21 minutes. My Fitbit isn't working terribly well, but I did about half the 5 km park run course which gives my some hope that I might be able to finish after all: I've looked up the times for my age group and most are just within the hour.

Did my static stretches and then walked home.

Just a run yesterday, 5k
Bit of walking but more of a gentle stroll so can’t really count it as exercise!

15,000 steps

I’m up for the football now, will be leaving for work at 7am so doubt I’ll have the energy to do much tomorrow (well today)!

Alittlefrustrated · 04/07/2026 23:10

50 squats again to keep me on track
120/300
I think I might be turning a corner - managed to lie flat and sleep a few hours this pm.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 04/07/2026 22:06

Parkrun (5k)
Lots of walking
Yoga (25 mins)

21,000 steps

WearyAuldWumman · 04/07/2026 17:55

No exercise today, apart from a little bit of walking.

Saw the osteopath and have my knees taped up. No idea whether it'll help.
