It sounds VERY busy, Fibrous!

Fibrous · Yesterday 10:09

Sorry to hear you guys are under the weather. I have managed to avoid a cold so far despite everything going on and coming into contact with hundreds of thousands of people. I moved house and then had a two week work trip in china which is always a crazy experience. So many people!!

I underestimated how long it would take us to unpack and get the house liveable - current goal is christmas as we are hosting. The joys of buying a house that hasn't been lived in for two years - there are so many urgent things to fix. And it's flippin freezing! I am missing my cosy little terrace until we get this drafty, single glazed bungalow insulated.

It's my birthday this weekend so I'm carving out some time for a run, and then hopefully will have the tv unpacked next week for my first weights session in quite some time!!

Abra1t · Yesterday 08:20

The cold really is grim! I had it, it seemed to go. I went back to CG and normal activities, including carpark marshalling on a Saturday morning. Spent the afternoon and Sunday completely shattered and feeling rough again. Neuralgia, fatigue, cough...

It seems to have gone now but I was shattered when I came back in from a walk yesterday evening and debating whether to do CG Fuel today or not. Sadly walking won't be possible today because of the weather.

Up to day 39 in Heather’s 3.0. Dear god this one is kicking my butt!! Am dripping sweat by the end. I think the rest periods are maybe shorter. They’re all around 35 mins but feel much longer!

That sounds tough!
I am out of the weight lifting game again- can’t shake this ruddy cold. I am exhausted all the time. Dr says I just have to wait it out- it’s been nearly three weeks now. Longest I have ever gone without regularly lifting😩

@whatwoulddexterdo I know the guy who always calls herr sweets said he would not be doing fuel as it wasn’t his thing. Matchy couple probably aren’t doing it either.
I appear to have another cold or the same one that has come back🤧🦠 which is very annoying. Also doing longer hours at work which is so hard- I have not got the energy to do anything once I get home.

I've always just played my music over the top even way back when using YouTube(muted TV and turned Alexa up)
I do plan to do the christmas workout yes,as im still quite new to the app I have a few old Xmas series ive not done, so will add on with any of those I think will fit.
As well as last year's christmas series
I've done play programe and half of max plus lots of stand alone workouts.
I am enjoying fuel more then those two.
I feel worked from it.
I know some wondered about the cardio or that it was lighter weights but like I keep saying..im suffering doms ALOT.
I like the fact cardio is included not only as a actual workout to do but within the strenght workouts too on occasion.
I somply won't do cardio unless it's in a programe im following ha

Still doing app fuel and up to date, just did day 27 this morning. I'm still very much enjoying it, it's so varied and well planned, I enjoy the mix of weights and body weight in every workout. They're so fast paced that there's no chance to feel bored.
Facebook the usual fawning yes. So many regular posters are clearly very strong considering the weights they are lifting, but there does seem to be a trend within the group to be as low body fat as possible, which doesn't seem all that healthy.

Yes I've been noticing that. And everyone desperately wanting to know their nutrition plan.

I'm close to the end of Iron Pro again, and liked it so much more this time round now that I'm playing my own music, I know it sounds trivial but it became like mental torture last time.

Is everyone planning to do the Christmas one?

whatwoulddexterdo · 13/10/2026 16:46

I’ve only done 9 of the fuel workouts. I like them, I think there seems to be less bridges and hip thrust that we’ve seen previously which is good
The Facebook group is very different as are the app comments now that those who shall not be named have whooped off . I think that they have formed their own group as there’s a few prolific posters who are noticeably absent. Especially that guy who called CG sweet Caroline. The guy with the nut for a surname is still there, he seems to think it’s his job to reply to every comment
The FB group is full of toxic positivity, but them if anyone dared to post anything that is not dripping with positivity and praise for CG wouldn’t be able to as admins don’t allow.

Nsmum14 · 13/10/2026 15:33

Oh and there are also a lot of posters recording their workouts these days, and posting them in the group for all to see - I find this so weird! Who needs/wants to see someone else's workout?

I muted the Facebook group because it just takes over my feed. In the interests of fairness I also muted the Heather page for the same
reason. Why do people post so obsessively?

i think I’m about halfway through 3.0 - time is flying - half term around the corner!

And about things that are nothing to do with the object of the group! I'm genuinely sorry if they've lost a pet (recently have myself) and I'm glad they're having a lovely holiday, or whatever. I understand that for some people, FB groups become a bit of a support, but some things in life are for your own personal FB, not for a group who are interested in strength training.

I am still doing Fuel, I am behind too, but that's ok.
Enjoying it,getting lots of DOMs from it too.
It isn't endless thrusts and flies, so it makes me happy.
I don't go on the FB group much at all, but am confused over the matchy pair not being around as usual.....

Abra1t · 12/10/2026 18:19

I'm still doing Fuel 2 on the app. As usual, I'm slipping behind and will do again in November, when I go away. I do like it, mainly because it's shorter sessions.

Anjelika · 12/10/2026 16:22

Hi @BigButtons Glad you are feeling better and back on the Jasper trail. I have just one more workout to complete in Sydney Cummings’ Program 75 then I am starting her new one - Monster - which again is a pure strength 4 week programme but with abs thrown in. 3 upper body and 2 lower body sessions a week. Can’t wait.

BigButtons · 12/10/2026 16:01

We are all quiet here! Hope you are all ok? My various niggles seem to be abating and after the first cold of the season I am back with Jasper starting cyber pump two.
how are you all doing with your different trainers?
those still in the fb group how is fuel going down? Same old arse licking

Thanks @samthebordercollie . I have been on hrt for years- it deffo helps but stuff is still going wrong. I took a week off from training last week but will get back to it today with some lighter weights.

I hope the collagen works @BigButtonsit’s not cheap. I don’t have any joint issues I think thanks to HRT, I remember stopping it for a few weeks and the joint pain was one of the first symptoms back so I want back on it.
I thought the HQ Caroline did today was one of her better ones, quite revealing. Good for her as when she started lifting weights 20 years ago most women didn’t.
I really enjoyed the Fuel cardio complexes workout this morning too. The best one yet.

BigButtons · 03/10/2026 09:11

I seem to have all sorts of aches and pulled bits all over my body. I have ordered some collagen in the hope that will help. Getting older is no fun

@thenewaveragebear1983 it is this model PASYOU Adjustable Flat Weight Bench, 2 in 1 Workout Bench, Foldable Bench Press for Home Gym, Fully Assembled Incline Fitness Bench for Full Body (Model: PB200/PB300)

i haven’t got it yet but it is the most compact on o have found storage wise

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/10/2026 06:50

@BigButtons would you mind sharing the link to your bench? I am looking for one for my gym set up.

i haven’t really kept up with the thread - how come so many are leaving Caroline? I have never been on her app or followed her on social media, I just dip into her free YouTubes. I’m up to day 8 of iron now, I’m really enjoying them. I have enjoyed not running so much and focussing on this instead. I think it would be hard to do both well, CG is very leg heavy isn’t it?

anyway over the weekend I am going to get myself up to day on the programme so I think that means doing 2 sessions, although I sometimes lump the upper body in with a leg heavy session and do a double.

Minesril · 29/09/2026 13:39

Somehow I’m already on day 20 of HR 3.0 (where does the time go?). Today was a particularly intense upper body day - they don’t usually leave me quite so sweaty!

There have been a few ‘mobility’ days in this programme, which I really like. I don’t usually do the cool down (I know, I know) and it’s nice to just stretch occasionally.

TessTickle0 · 29/09/2026 11:38

Well i did day 6 (lunges day) and 3 days later and at risk of sounding like the fan fanatics on the app and FB, I am still hobbling about and wincing when I sit on the loo!!
Obviously not done lunges for a while 🤣🤣

BigButtons · 25/09/2026 17:18

You have to do what is best for you and lift safely.
Had a great Jasper upper body today with some really interesting variations on standard moves which certainly hit differently like a Powell raise and bent over trap raise.

Today he had single arm press into push press again- push press for when you get tired of the strict press. I managed 12.5 kg strict presses which I could never have done with Caroline . It’s odd because the sessions are 30 minutes and don’t seem like there is much going on but I am always sweating a lot and my heart rate is high and muscles are worked and sore - upper body gains have been amazing which I really happy about.
I have found a decent compact bench on Amazon that I can store under sofa so that I can explore different angles for chest pressing etc.
it was really quite scary moving away from Caroline- I had been with her for 5 years and I sort of bought into the hype that there was nothing better. Not saying Jasper is better - just different in his approach which I need right now.
It feels like I am having an affair or something- mind you Jasper is not hard on the old eyes 😂😂
