Anyone want to join me?
Yes I know it’s an oldie but I did it about 15 years ago and it was really effective.
I’ve just done day one and the weights and abs stuff weren’t too bad but the cardio nearly killed me, I’m more unfit than I realised.

Oh my god. The memories. So many phrases. I hated 2 with a passion but didn’t mind 3 HOWEVER I hated the v fly and felt like I might expire. I’ve got a bad back currently but might try the strength bits I can manage …I looked pretty decent - fat bit firmer - last time

This is really helpful to know. I completed day 7 today and can see some minor changes so I am hoping by the end of the programme I am looking far slimmer and more toned.

Awesome! If you weigh in after finishing then don’t be disappointed, just give your body chance to get rid of the water retention from repairing the muscles and you’ll see better results of all your hard work, like I say mine comes after a few weeks. I let my weight stabilise at the lower weight and then do another round. You’ll smash it ♥️

Each time I’ve done it I’ve lost 5lb on the scale but gained lots of muscle so the fat loss is even more than 5lb. My whooshes come 2-3 weeks after finishing a round. I’m on my 3rd round now and can’t believe the muscle I have and the slim thighs!

For the people who completed what have the weight losses been like?

Amazing @IDareSay , amazing <- said in my best Jillian voice 👏 Enjoy your holiday! I think at one point we were at about the same point but clearly I’ve had a few more rest days!!

L3D3 done - I used a 6kg kettlebell for that one armed dumbbell clean section. My 2kg weights weren’t really cutting it!!

Fundays12 · 13/08/2025 12:00

I haven't done my work out today yet as the house is like an oven. Its a new build and retains heat very well which is amazing in the winter but awful in the summer. I upped the weights I used yesterday to 3 kilos and can really feel it today.

IDareSay · 13/08/2025 11:14

Ooh, that sounds like a good plan @Iheartmysmart

Iheartmysmart · 13/08/2025 10:38

I have two more days to go so will report back on any whooshing.

Similarly debating whether to repeat the shred after a short break but following the order on the download this time. So rather than 10 days on each level, I do L1, L2, L3 then repeat. No particular reason other than I can’t be bothered to keep rewinding it to the right section.

IDareSay · 13/08/2025 09:57

Thanks @Iheartmysmart !

I'm planning on another round of 30 days I think, but will have a look at the kettlebell workout I have downloaded and see what I think (from a sunlounger, with a cocktail ) 😎

It would be good to see if I get the whoosh, but given I won't be able to weigh myself until I get back, the holiday food may well negate it. Though if I come back having not gained weight I'll take that as a massive win.
Hmm, that's another reason for repeating the 30 days; to see if the whoosh actually happens!

Iheartmysmart · 13/08/2025 09:51

That’s amazing @IDareSay 🥇 You definitely deserve that gold star, Jillian will be very proud of you.

Have a wonderful few days away and let us all know whether you get the ‘whoosh’!

Are you going to resume the Shred again or are you planning on doing something different once you’ve had a break?

IDareSay · 13/08/2025 09:35

L3 D10 done, I did it!! 💥

30 day shred complete Star

Forgot to steal my fan back so I am just a big pool of melted human now 😂

That's me taking at least a week off now, including a few days away. If anyone wonders if they can do this, I'm in my 60's, overweight, dodgy right shoulder, knackered left knee, one hip replaced and the other one due and I managed it, even getting up to Natalie's level for over half of it.

I'll measure tomorrow but I can see and feel the difference in my shape and my stamina.

Happyhettie · 13/08/2025 08:17

Day 16 done. Did 1 set of the plank jacks like Natalie. 😃 (then had to have a quick lie down on the mat) It is ridiculously hot again today which doesn’t help.

feckinbanjaxed · 12/08/2025 22:24

Delighted to find this thread,it has given me the motivation to give it a go.I'm going on holiday on 29th August so I'll have 2 levels completed by then so hopefully have some body changes.Started last night and omg I thought I was going to have a heart attack BlushManaged the jumping jacks but couldn't do the rope or butt kick jumps ,just marched them out.Crawled to the shower after and straight to bed!!!Did day 2 earlier and was a little bit better but nearly took a chunk out of the fireplace doing the side bends with weights so just going to use my arms till my coordination improves.Actually got a buzz out of doing it today, hopefully that continues Smile

Fundays12 · 12/08/2025 22:00

I am so glad I have found this thread. I completely day 6 of the 30 day shred today and omg it was tough in the heat. I used to do a lot of jillian Michaels workouts but joined a gym a couple of years back and have put on weight. A combination of poor times at the gym and childcare issues meant I didn't use it much. I am aiming to tone up a lot as I go abroad next month.

PreetyinPurple · 12/08/2025 16:36

Took DD out for the day/lunch. I need to try and not eat anything for dinner now to make up for eating all my calories at lunch!

Happyhettie · 12/08/2025 16:06

Having a day off today due to some unforeseen family stuff this morning and now it is far too hot to contemplate leaping around.

Had a Drs appointment this afternoon and they didn’t have a record of my weight so I got on the scales (fully dressed and with trainers on so that must add about a billion stone surely) and I weigh an absolutely awful 15 stone. 15 stone. There are rugby players that weigh less.

Back to it tomorrow.

Saggyoldclothbody · 12/08/2025 12:29

L3D2, adapted a bit as I think I might have strained a muscle (well, I definitely strained them all but it was hurting a bit) and adapted things bit it still felt harder than yesterday and my hr was higher too.

One more day to go - woo hoo @IDareSay If I’m not back before you update tomorrow, have great holiday, and take all your measurements before you leave and after you come back to confirm the puffiness shredding after a break theory🤞😊

IDareSay · 12/08/2025 09:32

L3 D9 done, and that's my last Tuesday session until my holiday!

Wow it's hot this morning, and due to get hotter, so thought I should get it over with. Realised halfway through that DH has stolen my fan for his office; must go and steal it back before tomorrow.

29 sessions done, 1 to go. Don't forget to breathe!

Saggyoldclothbody · 11/08/2025 20:43

Bring back the laugh emoji @Iheartmysmart

Iheartmysmart · 11/08/2025 19:30

L3 D7 done! I’m out on Wednesday but reckon I’ll have finished the 30 days on Friday.

A yoga mat makes a huge difference to grip @Saggyoldclothbody I have visions of my weights going flying out the window during the jumping jacks. And I’ve not attempted the rockstar jumps just in case I end up in my downstairs neighbour’s flat.

Saggyoldclothbody · 11/08/2025 14:08

L3 D1 complete.

For me, this level today was an odd mix of really quite easy (superman and mountain climbers) and very hard (all the things that included jumping basically 😀). My heart rate didn’t get up to the peaks of previous sessions though so I’m not quite sure what to make of it. I need to get a proper non slip yoga mat out though as my hands were going everywhere using my blanket on the floor today. And DP will have kittens about the risk to the TV of doing jumping jacks with weights if he sees me. Sweaty hands trying to grip weights is not a good combination.

@Gummylump Were you looking at Daily Motion link on Brave? I’m having no problems with it after I changed a few settings after googling “adverts still showing on Brave browser”.

Happyhettie · 11/08/2025 13:33

Day 15 done! Half way through now 😃

IDareSay · 11/08/2025 12:37

L3 D8 done, and that's my last Monday session until my holiday!

I have to say that 25 minutes with Jillian was more comfortable than the hour I spent in the dental hygienist's chair this morning Grin

28 sessions done, 2 to go. The end is in sight...

CortadoPlease · 11/08/2025 10:04

I don’t think you can name change within a thread (for obvious reasons). Not that there’s likely to be much nefariousness on a 30 day shred thread!

L3D1 done 👍
