Yes I think it's really great. The FB community is really supportive too. You can get a lot (a lot) of stuff for free on Tom's youtube but the program is a complete integrated thing. Worth it imo

florenceandthemac · 10/01/2024 16:15

10 (I was wrong yesterday when I said 8, losing track...).
30 min run done at lunch. Off to the gym after work to do a glutes class then Pilates.

@BezMills Never heard of that SMM so just been having a look for my husband! Do you rate it?

BezMills · 10/01/2024 15:53

Little bit of everything sounds good. ( Didn't Davina look great on Doctor Who at Christmas? Whatever food and training she's on, it's working great for her. )

roonetta · 10/01/2024 13:30

Davina 30 minute bit of everything done ☑️

Mobility today, after weights yesterday. The Simplistic Mobility Method from Tom Morrison. It is surprisingly hard, especially the day after squats. Legs were very shaky towards the end. (7)

florenceandthemac · 09/01/2024 21:08

Well done all, and nice progress @BezMills

Shoulders and triceps workout done. Was supposed to do it on my lunch, and then a bit of Pilates tonight, but I didn't manage to stop for lunch 😑

BezMills · 09/01/2024 21:04

Weights today. Better this time, definitely needed the rest yesterday.

Getting my boxercise class set up in my spare time. Today I did my insurance, booking and payments, plus sent out a bunch of DMs to my friends who might be up for it. I have 5 definites for my first class already, so chuffed.

Strength and conditioning class at the gym. Tomorrow might have to be a rest day, I'm not sure I'll have time to do anything.

Short run today.

I only just got the app actually Florence and still on the trial period.

I love Caroline girvan but I've done you tube iron twice, epic heat twice, fuel twice etc etc and wanted to do something new to keep me motivated. I was trying to avoid paying out! There's also very interesting articles

florenceandthemac · 08/01/2024 13:12

@SophieLion I don't have the CGX app (too many other gym memberships etc!) but I LOVE Iron Series on Youtube so I'd love to do Iron 2, enjoy!

Days exercised 8, although I haven't finished today yet.
Went to my early morning strength session this morning, then I'm going to go to my other gym this evening and go on the stairmaster(whilst watching an episode of Grey's Anatomy)

Happy Monday all!

SophieLion · 08/01/2024 06:01

Days exercised 8 (including today which haven't actually done yet but will have to now!!!)

Ps Florence : yes I think a power walk can be classed as exercise

SophieLion · 08/01/2024 06:00

Welcome Florence! I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis.

I've started the Iron Program on the CGX app and done the first 3 days so far. Today is an active rest day so planning a 5km run/incline walk combo (not allowed to do uphill runs because of my dodgy knee).

I think tomorrow should be a rest day for me.

florenceandthemac · 07/01/2024 19:57

Well done all, keeping me motivated!

Yesterday I fast walked 5k, so an active rest day really but I power walk so I class it as a workout 🤷🏻‍♀️ tell me if you think differently...

Today I did 13k 'long slow Sunday' with run club this morning, then a 9k walk this afternoon. Currently at 33k steps.
I'm definitely ready for bed

That sounds fun Bez.

Swim this morning despite being very hungover.

Bournemouth was amazing! 400 of us doing BodyCombat in a hall with a huge soundsystem.
Today I did weights. Wasn't a great session but I got through it. Then BodyCombat, straight after. Ow!

Welcome @florenceandthemac 👋👋. Great time on the run Oubliette!

Looks like I have some catching up to do! You are all putting me to shame. Did a longer Nat Hayward mini band workout. This one always works up a sweat Angry

Enjoy Bournemouth Bez

Strength and conditioning followed by cardio kickboxing at the gym. The kickboxing class was crazy busy.

BezMills · 06/01/2024 09:29

Yes @OublietteBravo that's a cracking start.

I'm off to Bournemouth to do a bit of BodyCombat tourism - they have a free* launch event for the new routines.

( * spending 40 quid and half a day travelling to get a free class lol )

Hai ya!

Tomorrow it's weights plus mobility plus BodyCombat (aoutsch in advance), then I'm having my first boxercise student over for a private lesson in the back garden.

"Relaxing weekend" is something that happens to other people tbh

OublietteBravo · 05/01/2024 19:54

I ran 5km. It wasn’t pretty, but at least I did it! 31min 37sec. Not too shabby given I haven’t been running since 18 December.

Another run today.

Really feel your pain @BezMills, literally

Fingers crossed they ease soon. I can't even walk to the shop

BezMills · 05/01/2024 11:41

Quad DOMS here too, after heavy squats at lunchtime. In the evening the mobility hit them with lunges and deep squats, then BodyCombat just put the last nail in the coffin. OW

Thanks for the welcome!

Managed my Caroline Girvan arms & abs workout yesterday, plus a fast 5k walk last night (I didn't have it in me to run).
I went to my strength class this morning, but I can't move my legs after my Wednesday class, so we had to tailor it to all upper body. I then did 15 mins on the rower afterwards.

I've recently been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, and have noticed lately (although it's probably not related) that when I got DOMS in my quads, they last for 4-5 days now, rather than the 2 days it used to take. Only seems to be my quads though. Even just walking at the minute is awkward, I'm hoping they are back to normal for my planned long run on Sunday.

Regarding a goal, I'd like to maintain exercising at least 5 days a week, so if I say 48 weeks (to account for the three weeks holidays I have planned plus a week's buffer), my goal is 240 days this year.
As I mentioned, my recent diagnosis might scupper this, but I can only try...

Well done on your run @MotherForkinShirtBalls

Hello Florence 👋

I was too tired to get up early and go to my gym class so instead i had a run today. Wasn't as bad as I feared!
