Entered the ballot for the 9th year in a row and fully expecting to be unsuccessful, but still excited to hopefully find out the results in the next week or so! It seems to be dragging, although I remember when you had to wait for the result by post in October! Anybody else excitedly/anxiously awaiting an email?

Manchester do this every year. You can enter the same week… it won’t sell out its just marketing

Thanks. I thought so. Fairly sure it’s never sold out. There’s a first time for everything, but not likely in July.

AHugeTinyMistake · 06/07/2023 14:57

It's so frustrating isn't it @ValBiro

ValBiro · 06/07/2023 14:55

@AHugeTinyMistake

Mine looks like that now too, whereas earlier it said 'unsuccessful' under the bit where your name is...

Sorry not very helpful I know, I don't know either, still haven't got an email confirming either way!

Defo give Paris a go. I have done it three times and it is a very well supported event that is just as big as London. Cracking start as well at the top of Champs d'Elysee before looping around Paris seeing the sights. Finish line is by the Arc Triumph. Nice flat course too. If you book everything early you get eurostar and a night in a hotel for under £450-500.

Thank you. It’s a great date training wise (for me anyway), I think Paris it is.

DontYouThreatenMeWithADeadFish · 06/07/2023 14:45

I have heard nothing yet!

Oblomov23 · 06/07/2023 14:31

Someone I know from school guy rejected again, 8th or 9th time applying. I mean come on, that is just shit.

AHugeTinyMistake · 06/07/2023 14:30

Does this mean I'm in?

A big fat rejection for me too. The burden of fundraising is a bit much for me at this stage of my life but I might consider it in a few years time.
Looking like Paris for me but I’m eying up and few March ones too so it’s not too hot. I like winter training and I’d rather a not too warm 26.2🤣

I can't make lets do this work either :( I've lost count of how many times I've entered, I think this is 15th year possibly 16th?! I wish they guaranteed a place after 7 entries like they used to!

I didn't get in which I'm pretty relieved about tbh. I haven't completed C25K yet so signing up for a marathon was probably a little ambitious! 😂

Let’s do it are having technical probs apparently now 🥴.

Probably not helped by being the partner for the ASICS 10k this Sunday, and today being one of the bib collection days

xsquared · 06/07/2023 13:48

I wouldn't worry too much about not getting g a place in Manchester at this stage.

It's just a marketing ploy to ensnare London rejects to sign up!

I hadn't even thought of entering a marathon and entered on New Year's day. There were still advertising for places after that date!

DontBeSillyBridget · 06/07/2023 13:42

This doesn't seem to be working anymore?

StillWantingADog · 06/07/2023 13:40

Message from Manchester
”due to high demand after this 72hr period we will evaluate how we next make further places available - but, for the next 72 hrs we guarantee you a place in next year's event.” 🤔

tinydancer88 · 06/07/2023 13:23

Congrats to those who got in and sorry to those who are disappointed. I did see that entries for Manchester are open for 72 hours from today, I know that was mentioned upthread by a few people!

I messaged them and asked if that meant if entries are ONLY open until Sunday and they replied non-commital. “It depends” basically. But a marketing ploy to scoop up everyone that got a no I guess.

so entries close on Sunday, but may open again.

StillWantingADog · 06/07/2023 13:37

it’s a no for me (again)
Thinking of Manchester instead, it’ll be my first, and only up the road

DontYouThreatenMeWithADeadFish · 06/07/2023 13:36

Lost count how many times I have been rejected by the London marathon ballot. I seriously recommend doing the Paris marathon that is the week before. You can enter online and get a place immediately, none of this ballot nonsense or being hen pecked to death by charities.

Loveanavocado · 06/07/2023 13:33

I can’t see anything on let’s do this!
I’ve logged in. Where will I find result?

AuntieStella · 06/07/2023 13:27

Congrats to those who have got places, and to those who are secretly relieved!

I'm still waiting.........

(can't be faffed to try to make "lets do it" work!)

I didn't get in, but am secretly relieved, it would be my first full marathon. Best of luck to those who made it!

xsquared · 06/07/2023 12:59

Congratulations to those who got in so far. I'm still drumming my fingers and constantly checking my emails.

What is your B plan if you're not successful this year? Will you try a different marathon and hope to get a fast GFA Time?
