Swam weds, swim plus teaching BodyCombat on Thurs.

Swim just after dawn today, taught BodyCombat then had a stretch before a cooling dip.

58 days.

bonfirebash · 09/06/2023 14:41

20 min spin, kept very light as I'm sore
10 min lower body stretch
20 mins upper body weights

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 09/06/2023 11:33

I had been optimistic that I might get to 250 this year but I think 200 is much more realistic. I keep reminding myself that any day of exercise is better than a day of none.

One planned rest day (work) and one unplanned (very tired) but made it to my gym class this morning. Got up to 45kg on my deadlift and 20kg on bench press which was a lovely bonus. Can still only manage 2kg on lat raises though. Stupid shoulder.

Days exercised 101

bonfirebash · 08/06/2023 17:31

30 min (very explicit!) hip hop spin

roonetta · 07/06/2023 18:18

Yeah I'm not where I thought I'd be either Bez. Can't see me reaching 200, but considering I am doing 100% more than I was pre-covid, I'm happy with where I'm at.

@MotherForkinShirtBalls yeah that must have been weird, would put me off too!

I got in yesterday and had a quick swim at lunchtime. I am still getting a feel for the water and playing around with technique. Same again today.
I also have planned to do my Simplistic Mobility Method initial run through for the last two weeks, but finding time is murder. Today isn't great either - I'm doing drop off then pickup, then it's basically playground, dinner bed. We'll see, maybe I can squeeze it in today while working from home.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 06/06/2023 20:39

Swim at lunchtime today. I'm quite sore after last night's class so I didn't go too hard. Plus the pool was packed and the water was oddly low which really threw me off for some reason Confused

Days exercised 100

BezMills · 06/06/2023 07:10

Lovely wee swim yesterday at lunchtime, was high tide and I stayed in 12 minutes. I think I'll squeeze into the fancy wetsuit on Saturday and do a Big Swim, see where I'm at.

55 days. A good bit behind where I thought I'd be at 5 months but I'll be sportsing the sport a lot in the next months. My initial target was 200, doubt I'll get there, more like 150 I guess.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 05/06/2023 22:25

Hard class today. Heat didn't help
Days exercised 99

BezMills · 05/06/2023 11:00

I had a great swim yesterday before teaching, felt strong as. Then had a brilliant class (might have been over-coffeenated, I was hyper as anything) - and dipped again after.
I'm off for a lunchtime swim shortly - it was full moon low tide at dawn this morning, there's not enough water for a decent swim until mid tide.

roonetta · 05/06/2023 10:54

Started Sydney Cummins Arise programme. Will see how it goes.

I'm not keen on stuff between my toes either Grin

BezMills · 03/06/2023 16:11

Swim shoes are a great idea. My beach is stoney af and it actually kills to get in without shoes.

bonfirebash · 03/06/2023 14:50

Next Sunday if my kit arrives in time - I've only ordered some cheap swim shoes, a rash top and a poncho towel thing
In summer I have this weird urge to throw myself into any water, and I figured why not Grin so I've joined a group that swim/paddle here then eat cake which seems like my kind of thing

Sounds nice Bez. When is the wild swim bonfire?

Very long work day yesterday so it was a write off. Class early this morning. Busy weekend but I'm hoping to get down for a sea swim this evening after the sunseeking bank holiday visitors thin out. Probably another rest day tomorrow as its my mums birthday.

Days exercised 98.

bonfirebash · 03/06/2023 13:41

30 min advanced beginner spin
10 min stretch

Signed up to a wild swim too!

BezMills · 03/06/2023 08:47

I swam again on Weds before picking up DD from holiday club. Dawnie on Thursday then went early to teach my class.

The class before mine was about to start and with only one member, so I joined in, mainly to make the number(s) up. 1:1 feels massively different and a bit weird, whereas two people feels like a proper class. I used it for a warmup and cheated anything that seemed a bit keen as I didn't want to be tired for teaching my class.
Teaching went great, I was fired up! My back felt totally fine. I jumped in the sea after, swam into the tide a bit, and drifted back, nothing much.
53 days, resting today.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 01/06/2023 19:56

Gym class this evening. It didn't seem ridiculously hard at the time but I know I'm going to be in a lot of pain tomorrow after 4 rounds of 20 sit ups.

Days exercised 97

BezMills · 01/06/2023 14:43

Yes I am grateful for that @roonetta

We get roughly 6 months of decent swimming (May - October) - it's actually only getting pleasant in July and August! I had face-freeze this morning on my dawnie, and only stayed in 8 minutes.

roonetta · 01/06/2023 14:00

What a beauty bonfirebash. And very lucky to have been adopted by you Smile

You are both so lucky Bez and Motherforkin to live near the sea. I am always jealous of the sea swims Envy. Whether I would actually do them if I lived closer to the sea, who knows 😏

Arms and HIIT Sydney Cummins workout done.

nice work @bonfirebash

Yes @MotherForkinShirtBalls I'm very grateful to be able to swim in the sea every day

(to be fair in December-April it's just a bit too cold to get a decent swim, plus you wouldn't want to go in for 3 days after the rain due to Southern Water's contributions)

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 31/05/2023 22:11

She's gorgeous 😍

bonfirebash · 31/05/2023 19:04

20 min 2010 spin
20 min upper body strength

One very confused but willing to observe, newly adopted cat

Lunchtime swim today. I'd love to be able to get in the sea every day Bez, you're very lucky!

I'm amazed at how my classes are boosting my motivation, Roonetta. I just can't keep myself going without structure. Hope your mojo isn't gone for long.
