I don’t think I could manage a 3 minute plank @roonetta. Maybe 1 minute at a push! Grin

I was lazy over the weekend. So I made myself exercise today before I got out of the habit. KB&T L2 (42 min)

PeloFondo · 14/11/2022 18:48

30 min power zone ride - finally got my PR of 202!

iloveeverykindofcat · 14/11/2022 18:34

I'm on a 30 second plank. It's a proper plank though! Will try for 40 tomorrow.

roonetta · 14/11/2022 18:22

It was me who was scared of the 3 minute plank Sophie. I have no doubt oubliette would smash it Grin. I might give it a go.

Walk to/from work today and a 40 minute Pilates workout when I got home.

Epic heat day 13 (lower body tridents) and the 3 min plank challenge.

Forgot to say oubliette that it was another MNer who recommended the 3 min plank. She says she does it every day and it's transformed her core (with some other abs workouts). I'm trying!!

Today we did the 5km run which was part of the Athens Marathon. It was really fun.

You should try the bowflex oubliette. You can take breaks and build up to the 3 mins. Hope you nose is ok and not broken.

30 min hip hop ride done. Tough but I got a PR, I wanted to get 200 output for 30 mins and I got 199 (slightly sulking) Grin

roonetta · 13/11/2022 14:51

I've had a look at the 3 minute bowlplex plank Sophie and have no doubt I would not be able to do 1 minute of it, let alone 3!

Walk to/from work Thursday and Friday
Nothing yesterday partly due to the fact that the back of DS's head met my nose with some force. Not sure it's broken but it did look like I'd done a couple of rounds in the ring Grin. Is slightly less swollen today so managed to do a 50 minute Pilates workout. Bloody kids...

It wasn't so bad. I mean I power walked a fair bit but into the wind so still getting my heart in the cardio zone. I don't have a FitBit but I just got a Huwaii band free with Amazon vouchers. It's quite fun an unexpectedly links to my Spotify account though I think all it can do is skip tracks.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 12/11/2022 14:29

I feel your pain with running, Cat. Every time I start again I find c25k good but it's keeping up the habit where I fail.

Power endurance sounds tough Pelo!

Weights again today. Days exercised 155.

PeloFondo · 12/11/2022 13:51

45 min power zone endurance ride done

SophieLion · 12/11/2022 13:14

Hope your run went ok Cat!

Today epic heat day 12 (upper body) and the 3 min plank challenge.

I'm going to have to give running another go. Either that or find some YouTube videos for steady state cardio one can do at home. My gym time is necessarily taken up by the weights I don't have at home. Today is a rest day anyway.
.
If I don't post tomorrow, I died trying to run.

OublietteBravo · 11/11/2022 18:56

@SophieLion - I’m just about feeling good about exercising. Still a bit achy at the moment as I’m not fully conditioned to it yet!

Rest day yesterday. Back to exercise DVDs today. I did Hard Body level 1
(45 min). Which I haven’t done very often, but which is fine if you’ve done enough Jillian workouts to know her moves (as she does a lot of combination moves).

iloveeverykindofcat · 11/11/2022 06:19

It does make you feel better. Yesterday before I worked out I was wondering why everyone was annoying.
After I worked out I was forced to concede that everyone is annoying the problem is in fact me.

Swim today. Feel good after it.

Days exercised 154.

SophieLion · 10/11/2022 07:48

Epic heat day 11 (glutes and hamstrings), 3 min bowflex plank and a 10 min girvan abs workout.

Are you feeling good now that you're exercising again oubliette?

Days exercised 195

OublietteBravo · 09/11/2022 19:07

I had a go at a Yoga Inferno - workout 2 (the resistance one, rather than the cardio one). I’m not convinced I enjoyed it enough to add it to my repertoire.

PeloFondo · 09/11/2022 15:49

First power zone challenge ride done
To do before Monday is
30 min of my choice
45 min power zone endurance (low intensity)
30 min power zone (lactic threshold)

roonetta · 09/11/2022 15:39

Thanks for the foam rolling tips. I think I'll invest in one and give it a go. My poor muscles are constantly sore at the moment. I suppose that means the Pilates is working Grin

Only time for a 2 mile WWL today

I used to do foam rolling (or rather electrical pipe rolling - our trainer thought foam but was for wusses Hmm) when I was going to the hard core gym. We did it as our warm up and cool down. When I train properly and regularly I don't get doms very badly so I don't know how effective it was but I think the theory is to breakdown the muscle fibres before the reknit after your workout.

Short run this morning before a meeting and a weights work workout after!

SophieLion · 09/11/2022 07:56

Crimson, I'll Pick the "very fit" over the "watch isn't working properly" 😆😉 But seriously it's probably the latter as I ran pretty fast up a short hill today to see the heart zone and it only went into zone 2. But checking my max heart rate and the fastest my heart was beating during the run, that gave me 80% of the max. So I'm confused 😐 perhaps my settings are wrong.

Roonetta, when I did physio for my knee years ago, she told me to buy a foam roller for stretching. I didn't buy but have used a few times and it does the job well. *
*
7km outdoor run with a friend today. And the Bowflex 3 min plank.

Days exercised 194

iloveeverykindofcat · 09/11/2022 06:08

@roonetta I've seen foam rolling but not tried it. Looks like it would feel good on the muscles though.

CrimsonAlligator · 08/11/2022 20:20

SophieLion If you’re unfit, your heart rate tends to go up fast, so a low heart rate when exercising either means you’re super fit, or that your watch isn’t registering your heart rate properly. If you were very out of breath, you almost certainly hit zone 3, possibly even 4 🤔
