Well, I've downloaded the app, paid, and so far I'm very impressed. The articles are very interesting, the meal plans full of good ideas to maximize protein and the 'how to' section with detailed explanations of how to do everything from squats to push ups.

Worldgonecrazy · 21/04/2023 14:37

I don’t know if I will use the app but will definitely sign up as a ‘thank you’ to Caroline for three years of free workouts. I have no idea what it would have cost for gym membership or other online training. Happy to pay her her due.

DryIce · 21/04/2023 14:29

What do we all think about the app?

I'm back doing Epic again (have done three times without completing due to holidays/life 😬) - but now am intrigued by app!

What was the last beastmode program like?

FrostyFifi · 19/04/2023 13:56

Hi, not posted here before but I've been doing CG for a while now and excited about the app launch.
She probably didn't mention price in the video as it'll be different in different currencies.

DottyDry · 19/04/2023 10:40

Thank you for finding out the price, I found it strange it wasn't mentioned at all in the video. So pleased Caroline is back.

I'm glad the monthly subscription is less than I expected, still have a mountain of free YouTube workouts of hers to finish first!

I've been doing Caroline for 12 weeks now (first 4 weeks just epic beginners) alongside keto and have lost 2 stone and 2 dress sizes, feel like a new woman 💪. Her workouts have really improved my health and strength.

I was 4 stone overweight, so 2 more to go!

bluesuitcase · 19/04/2023 10:26

It sounds good but I won’t be paying - I don’t like subscribing to things in general. I’ll be sticking to the workouts on YouTube.

samthebordercollie · 19/04/2023 09:45

@ladybranstonpickle thanks for finding the price, it's really not expensive at all compared to other trainers. And it sounds like the app will have a lot more than just exercise programmes.

ladybranstonpickle · 19/04/2023 09:39

Sorry for being MIA but I am so excited to hear the news about the app. it's GBP80 for the year and i think GBP8.99 monthly for the UK.

samthebordercollie · 17/04/2023 20:29
Link to the new video
samthebordercollie · 17/04/2023 20:28

She's back! New video onYou Tube explaining about her new app, a new beginners programme and a new longer Beastmode programme. No mention of the price, but 2 weeks free trial. It will be launched 28th April.

pharmachameleon · 13/04/2023 13:03

Thanks @samthebordercollie. I'm totally fine with cardio fasted but struggle with weights. I've been having a big latte and a separate shot of kefir before CG's classes lately and I've felt ok so maybe that's enough.

samthebordercollie · 13/04/2023 12:54

@pharmachameleon i can't help with pre workout snacks - I've exercised first thing in the morning fasted for years, used to run 10 miles every morning fasted so Caroline's sessions don't pose a problem. Latest thinking is it's not good to exercise fasted, especially fir menopausal women (Dr Stacy Sims). I just couldn't face eating first thing now.

pharmachameleon · 13/04/2023 11:38

@BigButtons yeah it's too hard! I had read that it's not your stomach contents that help you to lift weights, it's your existing muscles. However I feel I have no energy when I am fasted and no stamina. This might be in my head but i really struggle.

BigButtons · 13/04/2023 11:26

@pharmachameleon there is no way i could work out fasted!

@pinkyponkyplink Hi. It really depends on your previous experience and fitness. I started in 2021. I had always exercised and had lifted before. The heaviest set I had at the time was 5kg and that was certainly enough to start with. It is far better to start lighter, really learn the form you need to stay injury free and progress slowly. I have an ongoing tendon issue near my elbow and have had to go back down to 3kg for bicep work. I was at 6kg. BUT if i really squeeze hard during the entire movement it actually gives me far more of a pump than with the heavier weights. You can make lighter weights heavier by really concentrating on the muscle you are working

DottyDry · 13/04/2023 10:21

Hi @pinkyponkyplink .

Everyone is different with starting weights. I started with 2kg and then quickly moved to 3kg. Now I usually use 5/6kg after nearly 3 months.

She has a YouTube channel, it's really worth doing her epic beginners to start with, I rotated these for a month before moving onto epic heat, it was a good transition, I can do 5 little press ups now so hardly the strongest though 💪😊

pinkyponkyplink · 12/04/2023 23:47

Someone recommended her to me. I have just bought some free weights but got a 1kg, 2kg and 3kg set. They aren't heavy enough are they??

Where should I start with her? Is it on you tube?

DottyDry · 12/04/2023 07:40

Hi! I'm 75% through Epic Heat and love it. I'm so pleased with the change in my strength and fitness.

I'm finding though on leg days, it's really difficult to sleep because my legs feel like twitchy, heavy dead legs in bed. It's taking hours to settle.

It doesn't happen on the other days so it's definitely related to the leg workouts, it doesn't feel the same as Doms and I do the stretching after and yoga sometimes to help, but it doesn't work. Also happens if I workout first thing in the morning .

Has anyone else experienced this?

pharmachameleon · 09/04/2023 11:09

Quick question. I usually do intermittent fasting and do a workout fasted but I'm really struggling with this now. I find I can lift much heavier weights and I have more stamina if I eat carbs before a CG workout. Does anyone have any good pre workout snacks they could share that aren't massively high in calories (I don't want to put any weight on-I'm happy at my current weight).
I can stick to IF on the days I don't workout.

samthebordercollie · 08/04/2023 20:46

I'd happily pay a subscription if necessary. The work that Caroline put into her programmes is considerable, the fresh flowers every day must cost, let alone all the different clothes and shoes (although she probably gets a lot free following the success on YouTube).

FlowerArranger · 08/04/2023 16:00

Maybe. I just find this total silence a little odd. Or perhaps she's hoping that expectations will be at fever pitch if and when she launches whatever she is panning to launch - because we're all desperate... 😂

Or she's had a baby?

BigButtons · 08/04/2023 11:16

@TheFormidableMrsC I do most of mine on the floor anyway. I don't want a ginormous backside.
@FlowerArranger I suspect she will come back with something that has a subscription ?

I did iron day 27 yesterday and quite enjoyed it, but if day 28 is all hip thrusts I might give it a miss. The last one that had a lot of those it did occur to me I could probably have achieved a similar effect more enjoyably via, um, other activities.Grin

I think half of the issue with hip thrusts is that I'm not in a position to use a convenient sofa, I have to do it on the floor. I'm on Tamoxifen after breast cancer and my hips just bloody kill all the time as a result so the hip thrusts are a massive uncomfortable effort and I'm not sure what for. I just feel more pain after. Lesson learned to avoid hip thrusts 🙃

bluesuitcase · 07/04/2023 20:35

Epic heat (day 21 I think) today was pretty much all hip thrusts! I don’t mind them though.

I love Iron, except for the large rest breaks.

I’m enjoying epic heat too, but hate the HIIT days.

FlowerArranger · 07/04/2023 19:41

I’m another one who gave up on Iron. Twice. I don’t think I got further than session 14 or so.

but where is she??!!!!
