I am current cycling between MadFit,( for toning/ weights, Joe wicks (for cardio) and Caroline Girvan for weights. I am always on the look out for different trainers though to keep things interesting. Not into silly motivational speak though!

For pilates I like Blogilates - she has lots of shorter workouts which are easy to fit in if you don't have much time.

I also love Joanna Soh - she has a great range of cardio and strength training workouts. I recently started following her strength training workouts and am really liking them.
I also love that she is usually sweating by the end of the video, most other youtubers look so perfect, and never seem to break a sweat - it almost seems unreal!

Wineloffa · 08/07/2021 12:26

Jillian Michaels and Yoga with Adrienne.

BigButtons · 08/07/2021 12:25

@Worldgonecrazy she really is. It is rare for me to find something too hard at times. And yea she does seem really nice. I also like that there is no speaking during the sessions 🙂

Yup! She is definitely the toughest trainer out there.

How she can press 15kg x 2 without breaking a sweat is amazing.

She also seems like a really nice person and I am so thrilled with her success. I live that she just gets on with it, demonstrates perfect form, and her exercise program is about long term benefits, not ‘get flat abs in just 3 days’

BigButtons · 07/07/2021 12:29

@Worldgonecrazy

Big Caroline Girvan fan here. I live the feeling after doing one of her programs.

I will take a look at the yoga.

Love CG exercises but they are really tough aren’t they?!

@Todayisanewday75 I noticed a difference within weeks of doing 2 kettlebell workouts a week. I running twice a week as well but the toning I saw was definitely down to the kettlebells! Her workouts go by quickly as well and you really feel like you’ve worked hard although she encourages you to go at your own pace 👍

Todayisanewday75 · 07/07/2021 11:10

@LilyLolo81 I have a set of kettlebells gathering dust so might give those a go. How long did it take before you noticed the difference in your body?

JM10 · 27/06/2021 12:26

I love Emkfit. I really enjoy doing her videos and always feel like I've worked hard.

LilyLolo81 · 22/06/2021 21:51

Another vote for Bodyfit by Amy, her kettlebell workouts have totally transformed my body!

Cowbells · 22/06/2021 21:49

I like Kettlebells with Amy. And yoga with Adrienne of course.

@Shannith wow- I have done bits of hers but with deffo look into your recommendations. My hips and legs always need working on as I am lazy when it comes to stretching after exercising and I am trying not to grunt when I been down 🧐. I get overwhelmed by the choice so it’s good to have something particular to choose. Thanks 🙂
@Shannith which one of Adrienne's do you do and how has it transformed you?

I keep trying different yoga instructors but can't find one that I like
I started gently with her yoga for equestrians (because I ride)

Deep stretch was great for getting me mobile
Nowadays I do that a couple of times a week and every other day balancing practice (in the yoga for weight loss series) - this is because of riding- but it’s sorted out my tight hamstrings and slimmed and defined my legs
I also do her hips one (also in the yoga for weight loss series) again, because I ride but WOW. I would not have said I have tight hips but I most certainly did. Having truly mobile hips makes everything easier - bit of a game changer.

I also do all three of her core ones, deep core, core strength ritual and just plain core (new one)

Sometimes I do all three, most days I do one. I have a flat stomach and if you squint actual muscles now. When I first started doing them 6 months ago I could not do 2 mins of one. And I could barely move for a week after. So I’ve built up gently and slowly. I’m allergic to actual effort/pain so it takes me a while to get anywhere.

Bit off the wall… but 2 that have made a massive difference are yoga for text neck - I didn’t realise how much tension I was carrying (and I’m pretty limber) until I did this a good few times. Instant results. I do it once or twice a week.

Yoga for the feet - again who knew? I do this at least once a week and it makes everything else easier.

Her 10 min yoga for neck and shoulders - I do this at least every other day and have done for a while. I now have excellent posture. And I really didn’t because of breaking my collar bone repeatedly (remind me why I ride again)

I do at least one if not 2 of these a day and have done for a year.

At 46 I’m more flexible than I ever been and I can now do a bit of dressage rather than clinging on dear life.

As I say my posture makes a massive difference to the way I look and feel. I do it because it makes me feel great. I’m slim but I now have surprising muscle definition without ever breaking sweat.

I like Heather Robertson for kettlebells. She does a tiny intro then no more talking, just music.

BigButtons · 21/06/2021 16:28

Great! Thanks for the suggestions. I will check them out. I’m big time back into my kettlebells as I get a really good all over workout in a short time😃

Zeus Fitness. Pretty intense mix of dumbbells and bodyweight. Pretty matter of fact, no motivational stuff!

EuroTrashed · 21/06/2021 07:26

+1 for boho beautiful. Love her Pilates. Have been doing a few livelier ones in pipsugar (barre / Pilates fusion) too.
Nike fitness app is still the best though.

flightofthecrow · 21/06/2021 06:59

Sydney Cummings. Daily free videos seven days a week (six workouts and one stretch), monthly programmes and all worked out so you get good variety throughout the week. Mostly weights but cardio too. I discovered her this time last year and haven’t looked back.
I also third Yoga with Adrienne.

Thirtyrock39 · 20/06/2021 21:34

I love yoga with Adrienne too
