RI30 L2D3 done. This is possibly my least favourite of all her workouts, the plank cardio circuit is agony. I’ve never made it through without a break. DD whinged mightily about it and undoubtedly phoned some of it in, but I turned a blind eye.

sobercurious2021 · 29/01/2021 06:44
@roonetta thanks so much! I might have to invest in the app in that case ...might have a rest day tomorrow and then start afresh on the weekend. It’s so great to see there are loads more workouts to try!
@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson I hope I can have as much experience as you and others in this thread one day!
It doesn't convert the dollars to pounds on the app. Does it for you ? Should be cheaper. TIA

sobercurious2021 · 29/01/2021 04:42

Just discovered that you can buy or rent the DVDs on Amazon Prime. There is also a Fit Fusion channel. Smile

Oh, and rock star jumps are the pits. I don't do them properly, my knees don't like the slam back onto the floor so I do the Anita version.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 28/01/2021 22:16

@roonetta

Hi *@Newkitty* - the usual progression is Ripped in 30 which follows the same format as 30DS but there are four levels and is a bit harder. I have added a list of her workouts ranging from beginner to advanced if that helps.
I agree RI30 is the natural progression from Shred. Not entirely convinced by that list, though: Lift & Shred seemed to me much easier than Ripped, but it's classified as Advanced to Ripped's Beginner.
AlgonquinBay · 28/01/2021 21:01

Yeah my workout involved rockstar jumps today Oubliette they are truly evil Angry

AlgonquinBay · 28/01/2021 20:56

Haha thanks for the photo roonetta- Shockwell it's made me laugh!! I don't think I'll be doing those any time soonGrin

OublietteBravo · 28/01/2021 19:27

KB&T L3D7 & 30DS L3D1. Both of which have evil rockstar jumps in them (in case anyone is interesting).

Thanks @ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson and @roonetta ! I looked at buying the app but it's the same in & as $s which is v strange !

Newkitty · 28/01/2021 16:38

i've just finished 30 days of 30 day shred! I didn't follow the diet plan so I'm not exactly shredded!! but am definitely stronger and more toned.

WHAT NEXT?!?!?!?! I don't want to give up the momentum. I feel like I've just got started. Should I try the Body Shred?

roonetta · 28/01/2021 16:34

Lovely to see you back @ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson 😃

I'm back! Sorry, stopped doing Jillian for a while once school went back in September and fell off the old thread, and then lost you all.

DD and I are back on RI30: L2D2 done yesterday. @sobercurious2021, we're only doing it 3 times a week, though I'm trying to make sure we get out for a walk every day.

roonetta · 28/01/2021 15:24

You certainly can feel it when you move up a level Algonquin. Just moved up myself to WO7 of BS and I have to say I couldn’t do a lot of it. I will persevere though, but when Jillian says at the start that even she does some of the push up combinations on her knees, I knew I was in trouble. And don’t get me started on the sissy squats (not sure if that’s how you spell it!). I’ve added a picture - have a go!

Hi @sobercurious2021 - Come and join us, there is no requirement to do JM workouts, you can do whatever you like 😊

BS WO7 done (well, attempted)

Hi
I enjoy doing JM but I don't do it every day. Is there anyone else not doing it every day ? TIA

AlgonquinBay · 28/01/2021 10:23

Good morning all!! Day 44 of BR here - still feeling a bit achey from yesterday too. You can really feel it again when you move up a level. There was a lot of fear leaving my body!!! Grin

Will hopefully go for a run later too to get some extra cardio in on my day off.

AlgonquinBay · 27/01/2021 21:55

Hi everyone!! It's been a while since I updated on the thread but I'm still keeping up the BR workouts. (Had to take a few days off after my COVID vaccine on Sunday as I felt really poorly, but back on it this morning).

BR Day 43 for me here! Started on the next set of workouts today (week 7-8) which was challenging but nothing that sounds as horrendous as those single-armed burpees Shock that one of you mentioned earlier!!

Verytired I use Jillian's app as it gives me access to all of her DVD's plus other workouts and I've downloaded the app on to my TV too which makes it really convenient to watch. It cost me £26 for a 3 month subscription which I thought wasn't too bad. About half of what I was previously paying each month for my gym membership anyway! I haven't used the meal planning at all though so can't give you a view on that.

Verytired2019 · 27/01/2021 19:52

Thanks @roonetta and @OublietteBravo !
I think I might just stick with the DVDs but will try out that site! I’m not sure I would get enough out of the app as I don’t think I would use the meal planning. Thank you! Will dig out 30DS again!

OublietteBravo · 27/01/2021 19:39

30DS L2D10 & KB&T L2D7. Very glad to see the back of that particular level of 30DS!

Days exercised: 23

@Verytired2019 - I use DVDs (I’ve got quite a few - I’ve had them for years and they’ve mostly been well used)

roonetta · 27/01/2021 19:33

Hi @Verytired2019, I use a mix of DVDs and a website called bilibili.com which has most of Jillian’s workouts on. It is Chinese YouTube and if you search up Jillian Michaels in the search bar it brings up her workouts. You can then decide whether you use it enough to want to go a step further and get the App where you can tailor make workouts just for you and also has Jillian’s meal plans. I think there was a special offer recently of a lifetime subscription if you were a new customer, but I don’t know the exact price. Might be worth a Google though. Good luck and feel free to join us 😁

Hi all! Is anyone here using the JM subscription app or just working off the DVDs?
I’m thinking about subscribing but can’t find any reviews that are U.K. based as to whether it’s worth it?
I’ve got 30DS dvd and the kettle bell one already.

roonetta · 27/01/2021 15:34

BR cardio 1 must have woken me up - just snuck in Killer Cardio 2 as well 🙂

OP posts:
roonetta · 27/01/2021 13:34

That's a bummer Oubliette, although I suppose when you spend 50% of your time in a plank position, it's hardly surprising Grin

Felt too tired to do Jillian's BS cardio 2 today and was going to do a WWL instead. I settled on Cardio 1 from Body Revolution. It's amazing to see how much fitter I have become since the last time I attempted it. And even though running man is in every single warm up of BS, I still hated doing a whole minute of it in this WO Hmm

Actually @roonetta I find that Jillian workouts account for remarkably few steps. I’ve just done KB&T L1D7 & 30DS L2D9. When I started I needed 1400 steps to get to 10,000. I’ve still got over 100 steps to go.
