New thread all Smile

plink I love the circuit workouts but they always fool me into thinking they are going to be easy but they hurt!! Shoulder intervals are definitely the easiest of them all and there for my favourites Grin

And 90 minutes is when I’m lucky!! Thanks for the Jessica Ennis thing, I looked it up and it looks really good but it’s just over £100 for a years subscription! It looks like there’s only 6 short workouts for that which just seems like so much! I need to think about it as obv I need to do this right but I wonder if there’s anything equivalent and cheaper.

Purpleraindeer · 22/07/2019 07:51

90min feeds sounds familiar reastie. I comforted myself with the thought that all that feeding would make ds put on weight and sleep through quicker.....
Jessica Ennis has released a training programme for post natal women - might be worth a look when you’re feeling stronger. She says people do too much too soon and has a bit focus on core etc for the first few months. Sounded very sensible

Reastie · 21/07/2019 19:48

So I’m still bfing pretty much constantly all day and night. In the day it’s rare to go longer than 90 minutes between feeds! I’m hoping all this will equal mammoth calorie burn but in turn I’m eating a huge amount despite feeling ravenous. past couple of weeks I’ve continued to lose a little weight but it isn’t visable at all. I still have about 26 lbs to go. Physically I’m very weak. I go for short walks and find I’m shaky very quickly. I can’t imagine doing insanity ever again! But my hope is to manage up to an hours walks in September and then build from there. It seems a long way off but then a month ago I was on constant painkillers and barely walking at all.

Reastie · 21/07/2019 19:17

Hi everyone.

Urgh, I hate the rubbish bb music, this is one reason I like Les mills as even though they use covers they are real songs.

Plink I bet they have to pay a lot to go to the convention though... hope the knee settles quickly and the referral comes through ASAP. Knees can be a pita to recover from. Have you got a foam roller you can try using on the legs to help? Remember the source of injury isn’t akways where you need to work eg I had a knee problem but the issue was in my Glute! That shake sounds ridiculously priced.

Hi yosta how are you finding it?

Purple 20 miles?! You’re practically on marathon length already!

Will update myself later, Ds just started another feed!

Purpleraindeer · 21/07/2019 14:10

Hello - nice to see some posts on here - I’ve been wanting to post but I felt a bit silly just posting to myself! Blush I’ve enjoyed 21dfx this week. Did a ‘fast’ 5miler on Friday - needless to say it was not actually fast, just not the plodding I’m used to! Then did a 19mile race today. It was self navigated and I got a bit lost so ended up doing a nice round 20miles. Was really nice - out in the countryside. Had some chats with people whilst running so that was good. I was so impressed with some of the runners though - there were some super speedy people. We got left for dust by the people doing the 50k ultra who passed us like we were walking and they had done 20miles by that point. Not sure how my legs will be tomorrow. Im guessing they’ll be sore!

Welcome lostara - definitely join us. What programme are you doing? I’ve got bbod which is good value for me as I do 4x workouts per week.

How is the knee plink? Funny you say that re the protein powder. Mine ran out a few weeks ago and instead of reordering from Amazon I saw some on special in Holland and barrat. It was half the price of my normal one and just tastes of sawdust. I will finish it as I hate waste but it made me realise there is a lot of duff stuff out there.

Happy weekends to reastie, Roman and poppy. Come back soon! Sorry for my epic post

PlinkPlink · 21/07/2019 00:02

Ah I'll give some stretching a go then, see if that helps. It does feel pretty tight around there. 12.5kg is pretty damn impressive purple !! Jesus! The comforting thought is that you know you can get there again though.

How are we all doing this week? Gone a bit quiet but hope you're all ok?

Hi @LostaraYil ! Welcome to the thread!! Of course, join in wherever. I use the free 14 days for Beachbody on Demand (I keep creating email addresses) and have a couple programmes on disc - Insanity and T25. Insanity is a beast of a programme. At the moment I'm on Liift4 and I've fallen in love with it.
The online stuff is pretty good, plus you can download the 21DayFix app to track your portion tubs during the day which is pretty awesome.

Had a few days off tbh. And my nutrition hasn't been on peak. Not bad but not super either. I made the mistake of trying a new protein shake. It's called Vega Clean Protein. Supposed to be a good brand but my god does it taste like crap. Bluergh. Sorely tempted to get my money back on this one. I was expecting loads better at £25 for 15 sodding servings Shock

LostaraYil · 20/07/2019 21:26

Hi, can I join? Just started Insanity, I have done it before years ago but recently let myself go... I need some support to stick with it and want to find out about other beachbody programmes. Do most of you have a subscription or have you bought specific programmes?

Purpleraindeer · 17/07/2019 20:07

Am not sure I’m smashing it, but I have done 3x 21dfx workouts this week. I felt quite tired this am so was pleased it was a rest day. The original 21dfx is definitely better than the new real time version. The moves are harder than wk 1 and 2 of the real time version but simpler. The real time version had all of these really complicated moves which I struggled with the coordination of.

Sorry to hear re your knee plink. I had a weird back of knee pain too. Turned out to be tight hamstrings/glutes/calves. Stretching hasn’t totally sorted it but it is a bit better so hope the physio helps you too. Well done on upping the weights. Ive actually come down in weights - I’m struggling to do 8kg shoulder press- when I did lift I managed 12.5kg. ShockBlush oh well

Hope everyone is ok

PlinkPlink · 15/07/2019 08:50

Thanks purple I did and OW. I'm up to 8.5kg on the big ones now. I won't be able to up my medium and small weights until I get those wrist weights though. That bugs me a bit. Yeah I definitely feel it and I can see it... I took a before photo so I'll take an end photo and put it on here.

Well done on completing 21dfx real time!! Ugh no... T25 has rubbish music too. Part of the reason I'm looking forward to Jerichos Morning Meltdowns is because of the live DJ. It'll make a refreshing change.

On a side note, did anyone see the convention Beachbody had on Joel's Insta? It looked amazing. 20,000 people under one roof doing workouts and seeing coaches and stealing Joel's cardboard cut out Grin Almost made me want to be a coach! I'd love to go to the one in London they have.

Knee playing up again. Put in a referral for physio. This time for the backs of my knees Hmm think I'm always going to have problems with them.

Hope everyone smashes it this week!!

Purpleraindeer · 15/07/2019 07:46

Well done on getting to week 6 plink - did you up your weights like joel said? You’ll be on to the final 2 weeks with full body hiiit then the post liift grief before you know it. Are you feeling/seeing the difference yet?

I finished 21dfx real time last week so have started doing the original 21dfx. I am not enjoying the music. It’s that awful tinny, cheap techno. Yuk. Mind you it is better than the cast cracking in jokes with each other.

Hope you all had good weekends.

PlinkPlink · 12/07/2019 11:56

Oh that's good to hear reastie . Sounds like you're healing nicely! Haha oh yes, Netflix is a good investment when you have a hungry baby. DS was a big feeder, I remember MIL questioning whether it was normal or not for him to be so hungry Grin

Glad you got some stretches in yum hopefully that will go some way to recovery. Pretty hard to avoid using your feet 🙈 have you been avoiding working out because of it?

Good to hear you're doing well too Tilikum I found T25 a bit samey aswell. I stopped after week 5. Got bored Grin I'm not sure what to recommend tbh, but after I've finished Liift 4 I might give 22 Minute Hard Corps a go?

Sorry I haven't been on for a little while. Super busy. But I have managed to keep going with workouts. I'm on week 6 now!! 🤩 this is where I stopped last time and I'm feeling much stronger now and less drained. Probably because I ate my weight in curry during my birthday week so I've got a backstore of carbs to fuel me Grin

Since birthday treats I've gotten right back on the nutrition. And I'm loving it!! Last night I made tacos with the recipes for Homemade Salsa and Homemade Guacamole from the Fixate cookbook. OH. MY. GOD. It was so good. I highly recommend it. Even OH was super impressed and couldn't stop himself from eating more.

Also...who knew cilantro was coriander?! I'd seen and heard of it like 6 years ago but couldn't for the life of me find it in the supermarket. Turns out it's bloody coriander Grin

Purpleraindeer · 12/07/2019 08:27

Glad you’re starting to feel recovered reastie. You’ll be out and about soon. My ds was exactly the same - I used to regularly spend the whole day on the sofa breastfeeding. I watched a LOT of box sets. I will always associate those first few months with binge watching gossip girl!

My legs are tired. It was probably 10days between the 21dfx legs workouts and I was really stiff the next day. Run later. I predict I’ll be slooooooow Smile

Reastie · 10/07/2019 19:06

Tilk being bit scared is good I think! Sounds like a sensible move to build back up to liift though. I did that with insanity, I did a programme (not beachbody but was very cheap to buy) called xtrainfit to build up fitness to do insanity. Maybe when doing liift start with light weights and slowly build them up?

Purple that’s brilliant about all those miles! Your legs are going to be super strong!

Things slowly improving here. I’m not not taking painkillers most days (4 weeks post section today) which is big progress. Fingers crossed the infection is improving with the abs and is healing up slowly. I’m moving a bit quicker than I was around the house but can’t really walk that far still (3000 steps on a good day). Past week I’ve lost I think 1 lb but not really sure if it’s just normal fluctuation or actual loss. I’ve certainly been eating a huge amount and barely doing anything physically. Ds is a hungry munchkin and constantly bfs all day every day. Quite literally. He laughs in the face of the idea of 3 hourly feeds like dd did! The only exercises I’ve done is pelvic floor squeezes and a few breathing exercises clenching and releasing my abs. Another couple of weeks and I truly hope I’ll be able to walk a bit more and take dd and Ds for some small walks in the pram.

Purpleraindeer · 09/07/2019 20:49

Hope you’re all ok
Legs day today. My legs feel all wobbly now. Excellent. Made a slight error as did core workout in another room, couldn’t remember what weight I needed and strangely opted for an 8kg. I realised my mistake after about 30s. I dropped down to no weights by about the 4th move Grin

Purpleraindeer · 08/07/2019 09:07

Hi all
My legs are fine. I’m surprised really - I was very sloooooow on sat so I’m sure that helped. I did a 3mile run yesterday - apparently it is important to do back to back runs to get used to running on tired legs so I’ll start to build those up too. It has given me some confidence which is good.

Tilikum - id try 21dfx real time next - the first week of it is easier than the original 21dfx to help the transition between 21df and 21dfx. Or you could just go to 21dfx and just drop the weights if it’s too much. Basically the difference between the 2 is that the moves in 21dfx are done with weights. I found it harder than t25 but on a par with insanity max and liift.

Tilikum · 07/07/2019 14:54

Wow Shock 18.5 miles is huge Purple! Well done! How do you feel today?

Yumyum My pilates teacher had these little (roughly plum sized) hard rubber balls that she bought from a toy shop, and she had us roll them around under our feet to stretch out the muscles and ligaments. They were much better than using a tennis ball because they were so small and hard so they really pressed into pressure points in your feet. Maybe you could try those to help your feet? You have my sympathy; you don't realise how much you need your feet until they are cruelly snatched away!

I missed Dirty 30 yesterday, so I'm going to do that and Yoga Fix later to complete week 2 of 21DF. Woohoo! What does everybody recommend as the next step after 21DF?

I've done T25 before and like it, but it starts to feel a bit samey after a few weeks. 21DF Extreme has a difficulty rating of 4/4 on BOD (compared to 1/4 for 21DF Normal) so that is scaring me a little, is it really that hard? I attempted LIIFT4 earlier this year and loved it, but I don't think my core and form are good enough because it hurt my back so I had to quit in week 4. I'm hoping a few rounds of other programs will prime me so I can go back to LIIFT4 in a few months.

Happy sunny Sunday everyone!

yumyumpoppycat · 06/07/2019 17:25

Thanks Purple Smile wow that is AMAZING that you have done 18 miles recovering from a cold!

Purpleraindeer · 06/07/2019 12:08

Oh no that’s a pain (literally!) about your foot poppy. The stretches can take a while to work so try to keep at it. I lost faith in it when I had a sore back but it did eventually work.

I’m just back from my run. Due to very poor route planning by me my 16mile run ended up being 18.5 miles Shock. I walked quite a bit but feel pretty ok now which is surprising.

yumyumpoppycat · 05/07/2019 13:21

Hi All

Purple - hope you are feeling a bit better soon - it's really uncomfortable and weird sensation having a cold when its hot, take it easy if you go for a run Flowers

Roman really well done even maintaining a 3 stone loss is a big deal - its hard not to focus on the goal you have set but in a way keeping 3 stone off and exercising is harder than just going for severe calorie counting and doing harm to your body but seeing the scale go down in number. You probably look better and are healthier too than you would in that scenario.

Reastie I religiously aired my wound (not csection so lightly tmi) 2nd and 3rd time round as didn't heal properly after dc 1 - it really worked. Fingers crossed you don't need the ABs and it heals up quick.

Plink I am still getting foot pain every day - the heat isn't helping as feet swelling up, I am not consistent enough with stretches though and also it is bloody impossible not to be on my feet as there is always stuff to do! I did the yoga stretch from 3 day retreat though which didn't cause any problem and felt quite nice - I needed it!

Tilki - did you catch up. I ususally would if I was being strict (can't remember the last time I was strict tbf!) but not sure f it's the best idea - could cause problems doing too many in a row.

Purpleraindeer · 05/07/2019 11:47

Urgh rubbish week here. Thought I had hay fever but it turned out to be a cold and I’ve been feeling really exhausted. No workouts since Tuesday Shock. Am supposed to be doing my long run tomorrow so no exercise today either to make sure I’m in fit state to do it. Sad

PlinkPlink · 03/07/2019 09:09

Hopefully the airing helps Reastie my mum always advises eating live yoghurt after antibiotics (if you have to have them) to replace as much gut bacteria as you can.

Well done on Week 6 Roman how many rounds have you done now? 😂 it's frustrating when things get in the way but all you can do is try and fit it in.

I've been slipping again on my food intake. Just not being entirely conscious of things (particularly my sweettooth). Hoping to sort it out this week and focus - easier said than done as it's my birthday tomorrow and OH is taking me out for dinner 🙈. Week 5 Chest and Tris today.

Tilikum well done on keeping it going. I prefer to catch up personally but I think it's down to personal preference. If I skip workouts my brain then gives up on the whole program so I don't do that 😂

How you doing yum ? Any news on your progress this week?

Purpleraindeer · 02/07/2019 20:50

Well done for keeping going tilikum. I dont catch up if I’ve missed a workout. Sometimes —never!— I do a double. I usually just jump back into the programme wherever I left off. I don’t often have a rest of more than 2 or 3 days though, except if I’m ill. It is hard to get back in the habit if you let it slip.

Roman i didn’t clock you’d lost 3 stone. That is awesome!! I’m actually even more impressed at your mentality that you can pause the weight loss for a while then get back on it. That is so motivated and really shows that team RH works for you. If you don’t normally workout on hols why don’t you set your sights a bit lower - maybe commit to a 10min workout a couple of times whilst you’re away?

Sorry to hear re the scar reastie. Fingers crossed it clears on its own.

Rest day yesterday and then dirty 30 today. I’ve decided to do the original 30 Dfx for comparison purposes when I finish this week. I think it is a lot harder. Or maybe, I’m now loads stronger than when I did it before?? Hmm

Reastie · 01/07/2019 18:39

Thermo the improvement ant thing is you’re still on it and working, and I found at a certain point I didn’t lose weight but I did gain muscle and become healthier. 3 stone is fantastic work and you’re past half way.

Lying on my back in bed trying to air my section wound as mw took a swab last week and just got the results today that an infection came up but they said since I’m not in obvious increased pain or feeling unwell I may get away without antibiotics so doing everything I can to avoid them as they upset my stomach.

Theromanempire · 01/07/2019 12:33

tilikum it was with Beachbody workouts (mainly LIIFT) plus calorie counting with Team RH diet (check it out on FB - it's amazing! They talk so much sense about the diet industry). I lost a stone before last year's holiday so 3 stone down now...another 2 to go Confused but I've pretty much been stuck around the same weight since Christmas as I've not really focused properly and binged a bit too much so I've been up and down!

OP posts:
Tilikum · 01/07/2019 08:20

This weekend I was in sloth mode too and missed both Dirty 30 and 21DF Yoga. I did Total Body Cardio Fix this morning, but do you think it's worth me catching up the workouts I missed from last week? That might also be a strong encouragement not to skip workouts again in the future!

Roman losing 2 stones in a year is fantastic! Did you do that just using the Beachbody workouts?

Purple completely agree about Autumn being a terrible cuer, especially in the cool downs. You gave to watch her like a hawk!
