New thread all Smile

plink I love the circuit workouts but they always fool me into thinking they are going to be easy but they hurt!! Shoulder intervals are definitely the easiest of them all and there for my favourites Grin

Right, plink, I’m now like an oracle on pg sickness! The earlier you start medication for it the better it is as it can stop it getting so severe but if you leave it until it’s too far gone it’s like an uphill battle to get it back on track. But some gps are crap and don’t follow this. Definitely see the gp quick and get something to help. If avomine doesn’t fit it there are lots of other options (no matter what your go claims). I took 5 different medications for it when pg, in the end 3 at the same time comprising over a dozen pills every day! But tbh no medicine will get rid of the nausea completely, there is no actual cure for this atm other than obv not being pg! Rest for me was as good as all the medicine. I had to force myself to do nothing and if I tried to do ANYTHING it made it so much worse. Your due date sounds pretty much exactly my due date! I can’t remember his exact due date but I think it was within a couple of days of 24th June!! Re it being worse, it isn’t always. I think most people find it worse because they have another child to look after which is tiring which makes it worse. Just get all the help you can and rest as much as you can and feel free to post here or pm me any questions if I can help at all. Go buy avomine otc if it helped last time and you can get to a gp soon. Take each day as it comes. Honestly, my pg sucked and was the hardest thing I’ve ever done but I got through it!

Purple did you finish the hybrid now?

Had mri. Turns out it wasn’t as relaxing as hoped because they had to lie me in a position that was agony for my still questionable shoulder so I spent over half an hour gritting my teeth and breathing through the pain in my shoulder. I left Ds with dh crying and returned 80 minutes later and he was still crying. He never stopped except when drinking a bottle of ebm. So not exactly successful attempt at leaving him!

PlinkPlink · 23/10/2019 21:36

Due date is 24th June. Another summer baby. How did the MRI go reastie ? Did you get a nice nap in? Grin

Aww thank you yum hows the foot feeling?

Thank you purple god I cant imagine teaching and being pregnant. It's a tiring enough job as it is (I worked with teenagers for 4 years) but lots of mini people too?

Well... I'm feeling godawful. A few days ago I felt lovely and had a bit of a glow going on. Now, I'm having to stop myself from throwing up every second of the day. I am currently typing this with seabands on Hmm and desperately trying to distract myself from feeling like this.
reastie I have no idea how the hell you lasted all through your pregnancy with this. I'm not eating crap yet but I'm also only managing like one meal a day. I broke down in tears today. I can't... if it's this bad now surely it's going to get worse? I keep reading about it peaking at 8 or 9 weeks and just absolutely dreading it. Last time with DS I got prescribed Avomine and I've read that if you have severe symptoms in the first, you're more likely to have it worse on your second. I'm already debating going to the GP tomorrow.
OH has been battling food poisoning, I've been battling with bad guts too thanks to undercooked burgers (entirely my own fault). I cant workout because I feel awful. I cant play with DS. I cant sleep through it. I cry at the news. I cry at the Pixar films I put on for DS. I'm a mess.

Who actually ever enjoys the first trimester?

yumyumpoppycat · 19/10/2019 22:51

Purple hope you are feeling better next week. Lol re sleeping at hospital; I have definitely had similar situations, long waits at medical appointments suddenly become a welcome chance to relax in peace and read a magazine - I was given a private room after I had dc 2 and I could just lie back and they also kept bringing me food, choc digestives and tea etc - it was amazing (this was 12 years ago and that maternity part of the hospital is gone now sadly [blue] )

Purpleraindeer · 18/10/2019 14:26

Congratulations plink! Flowers fab news. So exciting. Hope you’re feeling okish. Ds’s primary school teacher is 4mths pregnant. I can’t imagine how horrible the first trimester must have been dealing with a load of 4yos.

Sorry to hear your foot is still bad poppy. Sounds like you’re doing all the right things so must be very frustrating. Is there any exercise you can do without aggravating it?

Reastie - I totally hear you re the MRI sleep opportunity. When my dd was small and not sleeping and I was pregnant with ds, I was worried about reduced fetal movements. They checked him and said it was fine but that I should stay for a few hours for monitoring. I was so delighted and dozed for 4 blissful uninterrupted hours.

Not a great exercise week this week. Missed a workout as was late from work and feeling a bit under the weather so did a shortened run today. Hopefully better tomorrow. Will have completed the hybrid by next tues I think. It is time consuming so I’ll be pleased when it’s finished. Roman - i get why you stopped it. The last weeks workouts are even longer Shock. I’m getting a bit fed up of autumns much too complicated moves too.

yumyumpoppycat · 18/10/2019 12:27

I am so happy for you Plink Grin

Reastie sleep deprivation finally has one upside Wink hope the scans go well and get things figured out for you Flowers

Reastie · 18/10/2019 10:45

Ohh plink when’s the due date atm? Hope you’re not feeling too rough yet!

Yumy try the tennis ball. Honestly, it’s a fantastic tool.

Thermo wow to 5-6 times a week. I’m trying to tell myself the bfing is equating a huge workout calorie wise every day. Fitness and muscle tone wise obv it’s not compatible though.

Got mri and x ray tomorrow morning. Usually hate the trapped feeling of mri but wondering if I might actually fall asleep tomorrow as I never get a chance to lie on my own and do nothing any more 😂

PlinkPlink · 18/10/2019 10:20

Thank you all Smile am beaming every time I wake up. I did a second test this morning. Definitely pregnant haha.

Gosh a year reastie ! Aww the snuggles are the best, even when you're exhausted. Me and OH are super excited. Got lots to do in the house and prepare though. Not very much to buy this time round thank goodness as all of it is in the loft. Just some towels and newborn onesies I think. And if the prediction dates are right, it'll be another June baby 🤩🤩

yum that sounds horribly painful! A nodule on your foot. Ouchy. Is it like a stress nodule in your back where you have to gradually work it out?

yumyumpoppycat · 18/10/2019 09:23

Well done roman - exercising 5-6 times a week is amazing.

Plink that is really really exciting - fingers crossed for you!

Reastie - that is on my list of things to try! I got a special foot massage kit and found a really unpleasant hidden nodule thing in my foot yesterday with the massager - I think I have a decent pain threshold but I am really squeamish about that kind of thing! I have now got some very sensible slippers which seems to help when doing kitchen stuff, also living in wide trainers. Compression socks were also something I tried this week but were a giant no and caused way worse pain. I will keep trying!

Hope all well with you purple

Theromanempire · 17/10/2019 20:19

plink congratulations Smile exciting news Smile

reastie sorry about your stomach issues, so frustrating! The weight loss is good though - I'm struggling with that and I'm exercising 5-6 times a week!

purple sorry to let you down. How are you getting on with it?

OP posts:
Reastie · 16/10/2019 14:23

Yumy would a foam roller help? Do you have a job where you sit at a desk and could do something like foam rolling whilst working? Or use a tennis ball? My physio has got me before to put a tennis ball on the wall behind me where my shoulder pain was and kind of lean against it and move around to find the pains like a foam roller and it was so effective. Might work on the floor with your foot quite easily? Ps I’m hungry too!

Thermo you’re still exercising even if you didn’t finish that programme so it’s a win from me!

Plink that is FANTASTIC news! It’s almost exactly a year that I got my bfp and I’m now here snuggling a sleeping 4 month old and propping my eyes open with matchsticks thanks to the pesky four month sleep regression! Keep us updated how things are going. Ohhhhh I’m so excited for you!

Did bodystep on Sunday but alas no run on sat. Stomach still playing up big time and it’s pretty depressing how life limiting it is. But touchwood still plodding away somehow with a pound a week losses continuing although goodness knows how as I’m eating all the time and spending my life on the sofa.

PlinkPlink · 16/10/2019 11:21

Thank you for that Reastie , much appreciated! I've got to give it a go. My first point of action is getting rid of chocolate bars in the house Grin funny you mention baked potatoes. We hadn't had them for a couple of years but we had some last night... oven baked, crispy skin. God they tasted good!!

yum it was pretty scary but the new washing machine is fab. Really quiet and looks super sleek. Very grateful for it being here ha.

Roman I dont blame you! An hour is just too much for everyday... maybe a couple ot nights a week but everyday is too much of an ask I think.

Keep going Purple oh sleep after workouts is the best. I usually sleep so well after it.

So... I have some news...
I've been feeling pretty miserable the past week or so. Super tired, almost fainting when I went into town, weird palpitations across my chest, tingling in my fingers...

Took a test this morning and got a lovely strong positive with one of those FRER tests. I'll do another one tomorrow just to check but it seems like baby no.2 is on the way!!

Simultaneously excited and bricking it Grin

Purpleraindeer · 15/10/2019 06:22

Oh no roman.....! You are my hybrid inspiration! I’m still plugging away at it. Will be done by Sunday. It is time consuming I agree. I start exercise at 7.30pm so once I’ve finished, showered it’s 8.30 earliest so I’m losing a lot of evening and eating really late. On the bright side I’m knackered so I sleep well!

Theromanempire · 14/10/2019 19:33

So quiet, hope you are all ok?

Confession time - I didn't finish the hybrid calendar Blush I got bored and it was just too time consuming doing an hours exercise every night!

We started doing 21df real time last week with the plan to do this for 3 weeks then do a full round of LIIFT to take us to Christmas (that is scary!!)

Quite enjoying 21df and the progression in the exercises is refreshing although Autumn does complicate moves too much sometimes Hmm

yumyumpoppycat · 07/10/2019 22:20

That's great news about your scans being booked in Reastie. Sorry to hear ibs is still bad.

Plink Hooray potty training is coming along - although that sounds scary with sparks flying Shock I hate it when appliances are out of action everything becomes so much harder.

Purple you are right - foot is still hurting. This weekend we stayed home, dp massaged my leg and foot several times which seemed to help, I did consistent stretches etc but 1 day of normal activities today and it is back to square 1! Grrr. No excuse for my diet being rubbish though and really it should be an incentive to lose weight but I am so bloody hungry!! I just need to be consistent I think and chip away.

Reastie · 07/10/2019 18:52

Plink I do sugar free that works for me which means i do eat carbs, but whole grain. I do have fruit because I think they’re a healthy part of the diet and I have limited amounts of dried fruit. I cut it out in one go cold turkey and I have to admit it was really really tough for about 3 weeks. The first week or so I felt shockingly awful but now I don’t really miss it and am happy just sniffing dhs and dds chocolate and cakes etc for my sugar fix. I also don’t eat yeast or meat or gluten or some veggies (for ibs) and have small amounts of dairy. I remember physically I felt so awful initially and having to turn off the bake off as the cravings were so strong to want sugar I just couldn’t look at a cake!! You’ve got to get past that though and eventually you just won’t really want it. To me if I eat sugary foods or sweetener I just want more and more so it’s easier to not have any so I don’t have the option of limiting it as I can’t do it! Let me know if you have any specific questions. My main ‘naughty’ food is I still eat baked potatoes 😁. We can’t all be perfect!

Just an update I made it to the consultant apt! Have got mri and X-ray in a couple of weeks.

PlinkPlink · 07/10/2019 12:20

Don't I know it Purple
I'm grateful for PIL help over the past few days and couple of weeks.

DS has the hang of it now. He takes himself to the potty now no problems. The first few days were awful and I really questioned whether he was ready or not. Even when he had got the hang of weeing on the potty, he was absolutely terrified of pooing. Poor lamb. He's all good now and does both with no problems. He's not quite at the point where he can say "I need to go to the potty" but he's getting there. He asks where it is when he needs it but it's pretty much with seconds to spare. He'll get there.

New washing machine is being delivered tomorrow. I'm grateful to be in a position where we can do that (thanks to Curry's finance option). Tis a lovely new Samsung one. What a relief.

Reastie gosh, you're in the wars a bit, aren't you? Fingers crossed the doc appt goes well and that your MRI shows something you can work on.

Thanks Purple I'm ok, just really annoyed at myself that exercise and diet has fallen by the wayside. I'm trying to make some changes to get back on it but truthfully, I just don't feel it at the moment. Need to get some motivation.

Reastie I could actually do with some advice on going sugar free. I've been reading my Genius Foods book and it makes for some pretty disconcerting reading. Enough to make me feel pretty guilty about my past choices in food. How did you even start?

Reastie · 07/10/2019 09:17

Plink I agree with purple, we tried with dd, it was stressful and wasn’t working well so we left it a few months and then when we tried again it was much easier. She was nearly 3 when we did it eventually and she pretty much never had accidents. We never had the poo in pants some people do and she has never once wet the bed (hope I’m not tempting fate!). Just the worst time for a washing machine to break down is during potty training or a stomach bug! I hope it gets sorted quickly. We do at least one wash a day here and if our washing machine broke down it would cause carnage within days!

Purple glad you’re feeling back on form, I’m not surprised the marathon took it out of you!

Got elbow specialist apt tonight for hopefully referral for mri to see what’s going on in there (it’s been a year of pretty much no exercise and still no healed). I’m just hoping I can manage the apt without my ibs tummy which is still mega playing up in evenings as usually I’m spending evenings in bed from pain still. Doc only does evenings and already postponed it once. Cross fingers for me.

Purpleraindeer · 07/10/2019 07:39

The combo of potty training and no washing machine is not a good one plink!! Shock I hope you’re ok. I was given some good advice on potty training - if there is no pressing need to get out of nappies and it’s hard work then just give up immediately and wait a few months. We didn’t potty train ds until he was nearly 3.5 Blush but he cracked it in a day.

PlinkPlink · 06/10/2019 19:13

Hi everyone!

Long time no check in!

It's all fallen by the wayside. Exercise. Diet. Argh.

DS has started potty training and I was not prepared for how much hard work that would be and how stressful it was.

Washing machine has broken down - sparks flying, potential house fire danger.

Just making small choices to try and get back on board.

You guys sound like you're enjoying the hybrid! Hope you've all been well and looking after yourselves Smile

Purpleraindeer · 06/10/2019 18:58

Hi all!
Hope you’ve had good weekends
Sorry to hear about the lack of exercise reastie - you’ll get there eventually just hang in there. Great re the weight loss. It must feel reassuring to be back at normal BMI too.

Poppy - All I’ve done is calorie count again and tried to stay at 1400-1500 cals. I’ve stopped now but I find I end up resetting myself so after a few weeks cal counting I naturally eat less (apart from this weekend when I had some bits of cake which is a bit unlike me!). Are you not feeling 100% still? I recall you were exercising a bit but then got plantar fasciitis - is that getting better?

Good weekend of exercise. Finally felt good on my long run. I think the ultra took more out of me than I thought as I really noticed I was feeling more energetic this weekend. I did that 21df wk3 abs and you were right Roman - it is amazing. It was really challenging without being depressingly too hard. I hope I don’t need to laugh at any point tomorrow! Smile

Reastie · 05/10/2019 07:59

Hi all,

Not been on here too much as don’t want to be reminded of all the exercise I want to do and can’t 😭 but checking in.

Yumy good to hear from you, how is everything?

Purple I think that’s a nice compliment from your dh 😂

Thermo 21df extreme?! As if 21 df wasn’t hard enough! That’s fantastic about the comment from the woman, things like that are such a boost.

Still trying to do a c25k and body balance once a week. Still losing around 1lb a week but don’t know how as I’m eating a lot . Finally into healthy BMI and looking slimmer than a couple of months ago but a long way to go. My muscle tone and fitness is non existant but tbh I’m just proud I’m not gaining. I’ve had to start citalopram because of my stomach and it’s intensifying my hunger so I’m sensing this will be a tough time.

yumyumpoppycat · 03/10/2019 21:25

Hello! I am not exercising at the moment but just popping on to say well done on the hybrids Roman and Purple - really impressed that you are both loving them Grin

Purple what are you doing differently with your diet do you think, I get the gaunt comments when I lose weight too even when I still have a fair bit of weight to lose (not that that is likely to be a concern for me any time soon!)

Hope you are ok plink and reastie!

Purpleraindeer · 30/09/2019 20:14

I’d like to say I do fewer to keep my form good but that would be a lie. I do fewer as my abs are burning and begging me to stop!

I am really enjoying the hybrid too. Don’t worry about 21dfx - the new one has been designed so it is not a big jump from wk3 of 21df. the hardest workouts are dirty30 and cardio fix extreme. The others are ok.

DH said I was looking slim tonight. Smile he then followed it up with ‘not all gaunt like you looked like last time you went on a diet’ Grin.

Theromanempire · 30/09/2019 12:20

purple I don't keep pace in the 10 minute abs as it is far too fast and I prefer to keep my form good so I do them at my own pace while Autumn counts to 20 - I generally do 14-15.

So coming to the end of week 3 (just got full body hiit to do). I am loving this calendar Smile did week 3 dirty 30 this morning and it was fab - loved the changes to the exercises and will definitely do that again when I want an all-over body workout!

Did week 3 10 minute Abs aswell- it is totally different to the original one and really great. Mixes up crunches, plank work, obliques so really does work all the core.

Next week, we move to 21df extreme. .I'm scared Confused

Hope you are all ok Smile

Purpleraindeer · 29/09/2019 15:43

Hi all
I’m nearly at the end of week 2 of the hybrid. I did the horrible double today (full body HIIT then dirty 30). It wasn’t as bad as last week. That’s more than I can say for that horrible 10mins abs workout which is evil. How is it even possible to keep their pace?! It is working though. I’ve lost a few lbs but my dress which was getting a bit snug is now definitely looser Smile
