After doing this in 2018 a new thread for new folk to join the 2019 challenge. Pick your target, log your miles and see what you can achieve whilst encouraging each other Smile Anyone want to join me?

7.5km

Smashed my 5km Pb too, with 27.52 (previous was 28.22 at parkrun)

33.5/ 966.5

amysaurus87 · 07/01/2019 07:10

As I did in 2018 I'll update weekly!

27.21 miles of walking done this week (taking off Monday)

27.21/972.70

Might not do so well this week as we are finally moving house!!! Been waiting since before Christmas to move. As long as I can do 19 miles I'll be happy (19 miles is the weekly average needed to do 1000 miles)

Submariner · 06/01/2019 20:49

3 mile run walk today. Felt good!

7/500

BitOutOfPractice · 06/01/2019 20:28

I'm starting the great plod

18 / 782

It seems very scary when I write that

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/01/2019 19:37

A slightly mad 30km walk today. But it was very enjoyable indeed and I'm only a little stiff so it's fine.

71/929

That will slow down a lot now I'm back to work. But maybe I should have set a higher target. Confused

sar302 · 06/01/2019 15:00

6.5 miles cycling today. Year to date:

Cycling -13 / 987 miles
Walking - 5 / 995 km

Need to pick up on the walking!

LtGreggs · 06/01/2019 10:56

I did another short slow 3km yesterday and 4km today - managed about a km of normal pace in the middle of that and am sure that my ankle is definitely strengthening. So that's 13km this week, and I plan to build up by just 1 or 2km each week to ensure I don't do any more damage.

13/987 km

Freshprincess · 06/01/2019 08:58

Am I too late to join?

1000 running miles for me. I was 70 short last year. Lost a bit of enthusiasm in the heat of summer and although I got back on track towards the end of the year, I was too far behind my monthly target to catch up.
I’m off out shortly for 6m run which will take me to 20 this week.
Would also like to do more ‘boots on’ walking miles, but not sure of my target yet.

caffeinequick · 06/01/2019 08:54

I've printed out one of those 1000km trainer pictures and stuck it on the fridge for motivation. I didn't come close to this many last year so let's see!

8FencingWire · 06/01/2019 08:48

I’ve done 12k walking yesterday. Shopping in the sales 😂. But at least half the distance was walking to and from town, so not all bad.
And I bought boots, all I could think was: these boots were made for walking 😂 in an attempt to make me feel like I’m actually doing some sort of exercise.
Went for a 4k run this morning, I’m waiting for the washing machine to finish and I’m going to the pool for 1km. And then into town again.

So, so far 32k/1000.

I’ll update tonight again, I’m aiming to get to 40k at the end of the first week.

Tsotofamily · 05/01/2019 22:22

2.1 mile walk today

10.8/989.20

Tiredemma · 05/01/2019 19:33

15/1185

Went out with the intention of only doing 6.5k but plodded on for 10k! So pleased as this makes me more confident for my half marathon in March.

Well done everyone else on your distances Smile

Autumnnymph · 05/01/2019 16:15

Another 4km today - 17/1000

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 05/01/2019 11:05

First park run since pre-injury this morning. Did it in 30.23 which is 1 min 40 slower than this time last year. Not as bad as I thought. Something to build on but not impossible.

12.6/1000

Tailrunner · 05/01/2019 10:52

A very chilly parkrun completed this morning. We had a curry last night and I felt rubbish this morning so happy I managed to run the whole thing although it was quite slow.
15/1000 km running

SkiMum99 · 05/01/2019 10:14

ParkRun with the kids plus extra km to the carpark.

Total: 21k

JamAtkins · 04/01/2019 22:50

8km today ( walking - I’m shite at running)

Total 19/1000

steppemum · 04/01/2019 22:19

Oh I would love to do this!

I am walking (the dog) and I will aim for 1000 km, but try and get 1000m!

mrbob · 04/01/2019 22:15

Another park run done but only going to count as 4 as I walked a bit. Really struggling with keto!
So 15/1000

Autumnnymph · 04/01/2019 14:43

3.5 km today - 13/1000

SkiMum99 · 04/01/2019 14:34

Be kind to yourself bear you are doing a lot of running and the grey weather doesn’t help anyone’s motivation Smile

Chilly 5k at lunchtime brrr had goosebumps for first mile despite two long sleeved layers and headband. I do like running in the cool air though.

Total: 15k.

1km swimming and 3km run so far today.
15/1000

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/01/2019 13:06

It's hard to get going after Christmas and just generally at this time of year. And if you are a bear you are supposed to be hibernating at the moment Wink

7km walk. The sunshine was a boost.

41/959

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/01/2019 12:28

13km this morning, it was grim. I don't know why but I'm really struggling to get myself going at the moment, every step was a chore!

26/ 974

Submariner · 04/01/2019 08:07

Another 2 mile run walk this morning. 4/500
