Morning - I went for Dr Who and only did W5R3 this morning Blush but ‘on holiday’ at my Mum’s where it is really really flat so it was a breeze Grin

WhenCanISleepAgain · 23/10/2018 09:47

Thanks DonDrapers the excercises are helping - and I need to remember to keep them up so the pain doesn’t come back. How did you get on with W2R1? I’m craving maltesers and a cup of tea now!

DomesticAnarchist · 23/10/2018 07:13

Well done @sleepymouse! I have W5R1 tonight. I can't see myself managing 20 mins by the end of the week.

RunningWhileTheWorldBurns · 22/10/2018 23:36

Well done Sleepy that’s fab! I’m dreading that! It’s the hills they are a killer

sleepymouse · 22/10/2018 20:19

I finished W5R3 this morning, managed to run the whole 20 mins, even the uphill parts. I was pretty slow though, and somehow covered less distance than with walking intervals. Still, it's great to get that first long run done, it gives me faith that I'll be able to manage 30 mins running eventually

Howlongtillbedtime · 22/10/2018 13:17

Can I join in ?

I completed this a couple of years ago but fell off the running wagon about 18 months ago. It annoys me that I didn't keep it up but I am going to give it another go.

So today I did wk2 r1 . I loved it! It wasn't too easy but I am really pleased I have made a start.and I am looking forward to the next run now.

I am going to read some of your thread now and inspire myself.

ADayAlwaysHasToEnd · 22/10/2018 13:08

W3R3 done. I found W3R1&2 super difficult but today it seemed almost easy. Hopefully that's a sign of my stamina increasing.
Looking at week 4 it seems kinda scary, I know I can run for 5 minutes but I don't know if I can do it twice in 30 minutes 😫

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 22/10/2018 11:39

W1 done, I did runs 2 & 3 back to back yesterday to tick them off, FATEdestiny. W2 starts today HOORAY but in the meantime, I’m on the sofa with coffee & maltesers.

Are the clamshells helping whencanisleepagain? I find them a bit of a pain to remember daily but they’ve really helped me with my really chronic issue.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 22/10/2018 10:12

Thank you to those who gave advice on knee exercises. I ran again today for the first time since getting knee pain and went straight to W3R1 rather than going back so am feeling pleased to be back on track.

RunningWhileTheWorldBurns · 21/10/2018 23:28

Thank you. It was admittedly a pretty slow run but I really feel like it’s a wee breakthrough

PetraDelphiki · 21/10/2018 22:31

Brilliant well done!!!

DomesticAnarchist · 21/10/2018 20:53

Wow! Well done @RunningWhileTheWorldBurns! I understand what a big deal that is!

RunningWhileTheWorldBurns · 21/10/2018 20:49

Phanny did you do it??

RunningWhileTheWorldBurns · 21/10/2018 20:48

I ran tonight and really can’t believe the results. I managed over eight minutes straight I accidentally ran right through the warm down run. I’m so excited. This is a big deal for me i have never ever been fit!

DomesticAnarchist · 21/10/2018 18:19

@PhannyMcNee W5R3 is where it starts getting a bit serious, isn't it?! Go on, record DrWho and reward yourself with it when you get back.

Good luck!

DomesticAnarchist · 21/10/2018 18:18

I did it. Did a flatter route so avoided the asthma-geddon I had yesterday but still reached a new peak HR of 180-something.

I am not enjoying this! I just want to be able to run a bit without feeling like I'm going to die! I was hoping for more than 5 mins, but 🤷‍♀️!

PhannyMcNee · 21/10/2018 17:11

I’m contemplating W5R3 tonight. It’s that or Dr Who Blush

DomesticAnarchist · 21/10/2018 17:02

I'm thinking about heading out for W4R3 tonight, @RunningWhileTheWorldBurns

I buggered up my routine by missing Friday's run and ran yesterday instead. But I've got the club run on Tuesday (W5R1) and I think I'll benefit from a rest day tomorrow.

I don't know if the club will stick to the PHE C25K and do 3x 5 min runs or if they'll do the 8 min ones or even the dreaded 20mins continuous on W5R3. It's starting to look like proper running.

RunningWhileTheWorldBurns · 21/10/2018 15:45

Anyone heading out tonight? I’m doing W3R1 tonight. I ate crap and had some wine last night so I’m not expecting it to be an easy one 😕

RunningWhileTheWorldBurns · 20/10/2018 19:47

Genuinely missing it tonight but I’ve just eaten a bucket of popcorn

ADayAlwaysHasToEnd · 20/10/2018 18:18

Can i join I've just done W3R2 and I'm finding that fine however I'm really worried about running for 5 minutes in W4

DomesticAnarchist · 20/10/2018 18:06

I missed my run yesterday and really wasn't feeling it today. I did go out though, and did W4R2 but tried a new route and ended up doing the first 5 min run up a horrible hill. 😫

Well done for getting out @5SecondsFromWilding, and trying a new route!

I was worried about going to 3 mins but that was ok. And then I was worried about going to 5 mins but that was ok on my group run. Just less so today!

Maybe the endorphins will kick in in a bit... when I can breathe again...

5SecondsFromWilding · 20/10/2018 17:10

W2R3 finished! I really didn't have the motivation today but am so glad I went out now. I also worked up the nerve to run onto the main road that runs through my village rather than turn around like I normally do.

The jump to 3mins next week worries me, though I know that overall running time is the same. My legs hurt slightly after this run, which is odd considering they didn't for the other 2 identical runs this week.

Alicatz66 · 20/10/2018 13:25

It was ok PhannyMcNee. I felt really comfortable doing the first 2k .. but when I hit 4 I wanted to cry !.. just kept jogging .. my partner runs and he can do it on 22 minutes but he jogged with me ! My parkrun is only 10 minutes away and all flat so not too bad !

PhannyMcNee · 20/10/2018 12:28

Well done Alicatz, how was it? I can to get out of bed early enough to get to one - it’s a 30 minute drive away and it feels too far for a Saturday morning!!

I am dressed to go out for W5R3 but I’m dithering - I have a blocked nose and an a bit throaty, could be the start of a cold? Should I go anyway or should I leave it a day and see what happens?
