Anybody else in London ballot?

It's the first time I've entered. I didn't think I'd be bothered but now we're approaching d day (week after next I'm guessing?) Ive become obsessed and am writing imaginary training plans Blush

When I entered I thought that if I got a spot, I'd defer it to give myself a year to put extra miles in my legs. But now I don't care about the extra miles...!!

Might look for other spring marathons.... K own I couldn't commit to fundraising for charity place.

The top is OK actually, lightweight black zip up running jacket. The only problem is that it says london marathon on it hmm they need a rebranding think for these tops. Why would you wear a top of a race you didn't get into? Surely #LondonLoser or something referencing ballot failure in a pithy, tongue in cheek way would be better? These tops could be quite collectable with a bit of creativity.

I agree. Why wear a top of something you didn't take part in?

They could have something ironic on it like.

Still nothing.
No email, no bib number, no magazine.

I'm hoping I get the sorry magazine today.
It's the not knowing is annoying. Once I know, I can move on and look for a half more realistic marathon to train for and get excited about.

I'll still enter LM next year. Grin

Still waiting here. Both DP and I have entered. I ran it for charity last year and seriously don't know how I'd feel if I got in again.

Got home to my sorry magazine and the black training top.

I'm glad I know. I'm really excited about windermere. I wasn't going to do a marathon next year, but the vlm ballot has made me realize that I do want to do one.

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear. When we all know, we should start a spring marathons thread for those doing London and other marathons

Does VLM base bib numbers on when you applied? Mine is in the 6000's, which seems relatively low when I think of how many people get in..

First time ballot entry here. Getting very excited, have even got my running gear on for the first time in 3 months.

I've looked at the real buzz and no bib number either.

I didn't get in again this year. My top is so small I reckon it would fit my DS 😂 that'll teach me to go smaller thinking I'd be fit and trained this time

Joining in for the wait. I didn't get any post today at all. It sounds strange but I think I'll be excited if I get in, but also relieved if I don't.

It can take all week for everything to go out so don't give up hope! Congrats to all who get in, it was my first marathon last year and I loved it!

I'm still waiting too, though our post has been dodgy recently as we have building work. I think our builders thought I was mad coming to check for post twice today!

Dh and I both got the Sorry Magazine when we got home today Sad There’s a letter in it too saying you haven’t got a place

Plus our training shirts (which are ok)

Which is filling up quickly.

I'm a bit wary of entering anything too short as surely that's usually filled with 'faster' runners? Confused or am I wrong?

Because I'm a novice by some standards, I'm more of a plodder, I would stand out like a sore thumb if the run is too short and too fast.

Steaming, I've heard that the Great North Run sounds has a fantastic atmosphere. (even better than London Marathon apparently)
and it's a half marathon which is good.
